Transitioning from December to January

Fungjai Tarot

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

The High Priestess – You are in the process of reconnecting with your intuition and hidden knowledge.  For the past month, you’ve had to shut everything out and close everything down.  Now, as the month shifts from the holidays into the new year, those closed off parts of you are being welcomed back and opened up once more.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

Princess of Cups atop Seven of Pentacles – This time around, don’t focus so much on the emotional growth itself. It will continue to develop on its own in the background as you focus on other peripheral tasks and issues.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

Five of Cups – Less disappointment in yourself and your life is what you are seeking at this time. There was a great deal of that going on prior to the holiday rush, and it isn’t something you want to return to now that you are surfacing again into the world once more.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

The Star – Watch out for false hope. Pretending everything is fine when it’s not helps no one and can be detrimental.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

The Magician – There’s a lot to be said for being prepared and having a few tricks up your sleeve to turn things in the direction you want them to go.  Don’t discount these factors, as they are a boon that is useful and can help you in finding a greater sense of satisfaction in life.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

Two of Cups atop Nothing – The pain of losing the belief in your mother’s love. This wound has been festering quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) in the background for some time.  This month you discovered just what that motherly love is like and that you are deserving of it, and it’s given you the ability to begin the healing process of these past wounds.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

The Moon – Being in the dark isn’t always a bad thing. Night hikes are amazing, even when you can’t see where you’re going.  Sometimes not knowing really is the better option and can allow you to move forward when otherwise, with all the information before you, you would be frozen and unable to move.

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

Queen of Swords – Backlash for the recent visit is coming.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

The Hierophant – It’s time to reach out to ancestors, spirit guides, and (yes, even) Amalthea. Reach out, connect, listen, and learn.

Message from the Spirit World – You have all of the knowledge and tools needed to connect with the spirit world, and to benefit from the skills and knowledge being offered to you.

Message from the Mind’s World – Your growth is about more than just emotional intelligence. As that expands, so too does your intuition. Don’t place one over the other.

Message from the Physical World – Do not allow insecurities to keep you from connecting with others. That is how people end up old and alone.

Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Winter Waite Tarot 2018 Edition, The Merry Christmas Oracle, Seasons of the Witch Yule Oracle

EarthThe Fool and Angel – Ground yourself this week in the knowledge and advice that your spirit guides have to offer. With the holiday rush at an end, now is the time to approach your relationship with these guides with fresh energy and a sense of newness.

AirNine of Swords atop Page of Pentacles, Sugar Plums – Don’t worry so much about where things are going next. Now is a time to take a breath, take comfort in a job well done, and look forward with hope. Don’t allow worries and anxieties to slide in and pollute the waters with negativity.

WaterTen of Pentacles and Orange – Focus this week on how the time spent with people who truly love and care about you has helped to nourish and nurture you. Take tie to appreciate how this differes from other years past at this time of year, and recognize that good company makes for healthier emotional foundations.

FireDeath Rx and Party – Take a break and have some fun. You don’t always have to be pushing forward and striving for better.  You’ve earned this time off and need to focus on savoring it and enjoying it to its fullest.

WaningFamily – In a few days, you will be headed back home, and Z will be headed back home as well. Savour the sense of family and closeness while you can, for by the end of the week it will be just you and L on your own once more.

WaxingRinging the Bells – Cleanse yourself of the bad habits and unhelathy behaviors you’ve been entertaining through the holiday rush. It’s time to let go of the neglect and the shortcuts, the mistreatment and ignoring of your own needs. Release it all, cleanse it from your life, and wash it away to clear the air for something healthier.

Take Away – This week is all about savoring the support and closeness of those that care deepest for you and you for them, and appreciating their presence in your life and how much they care. On top of this, there is encouragement to make sure that you are rooting your feet and finding balance in the wake of the rush instead of neglecting the need to return to a healthy dose of self-care.

Month End Tarot Reading - Somnia Tarot and Jeremy Miranda Oracle Cards

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

The Moon atop Four of Coins – Waffling between stability and uncertainty. Feeling trapped.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

The Heirophant – Right now you need to focus on you. You can’t help or guide others when you are depleted. It’s okay to close the door sometimes.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

Ace of Wands atop The Tower – Helping Ms B find new purpose after her loss. Helping her get organized and settled so that she can start off on the right foot.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

Ace of Cups atop Three of Coins – Take care in who is allowed to help. Ensure that your guard is kept up concerning those coming out of the woodwork at this time to offer their assistance in an effort to insert themselves and establish a connection.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

Page of Swords – Stay hopeful as you keep your eye on what lies ahead and learn to navigate your way through this experience.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

The Empress atop Six of Coins – You know just how painful backstabbing can be. You have experienced it before in the guise of nurturing kindness from others that in an instant turned to something painful and ugly.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

The Chariot – The little black woo woo. (Yes, this is code for an unforgettable memory I’m not going to share publicly.)

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

King of Cups – Make sure you mend things with Gideon. He’s feeling alone and adrift, and that can quickly turn into resentment.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

Justice – Balancing the scales will require looking beneath the surface and digging deep. Be thorough.

Side Note:  Skipping the second half of this reading, as there’s just not time to go through it all. I’ll return to the full reading next month.

Ostara Tarot, Crystal Forests Oracle, Power Animals Oracle

Side Note – There is a noticeable color flow in these cards that runs from hot and fiery on the left to cool and calm on the right. This speaks of its own progression and transition as the week progresses.

Earth – The Magician and Red Jasper / Empowerment – You’ve got this. You have everything you need (including time) to get done all that needs accomplished this week with your business and manifestations. Touch that fire within and let it burn away any lingering sluggishness.

AirStrength and Blue Apatite / Trust – You are loved and trusted, and have the ability to use that trust to help those around you make good choices. Don’t forget that this power is a precious gift.

WaterTen of Wands and Wulfenite / Amplification – You are emotionally overwhelmed. The death last week has amplified emotional struggles you’ve been having and you are struggling to carry them instead of shutting down.

FireThe Sun and Blue Goldstone / Authenticity – You can use your emotions to sink deeper into your work, to take joy in the process and put yourself more intrinsically into the pieces you make.  Funnel some of that part of who you are and how you feel into the pieces and turn those emotions into something beautiful.

WaningFox – Emotions are going to be far more difficult to hide this week. You are trying to wait until you are home and caught up on orders, but cracks in your armor are starting to show.

WaxingSalmon – Let the emotions out and deal with them.

Take Away – Most of this weekend’s reading is about making sure I’m processing my emotions or doing something with them in some way instead of trying to either close them away or letting them stagnate and fester.

Dancing In the Dark Tarot, Jeremy Miranda Oracle Cards, Power Animals Oracle

EarthTemperance – Take time this week to slow down. It’s okay that you’re not getting everything done that you might have planned. Physically speaking, taking things slow is the best thing for you right now. There is also guidance here to take things slow getting your new card (to be picked up tomorrow) set up.

AirThe Star – Stay hopeful. Stay open to optimism. Do not allow negative self talk to drag you under and sour your emotions. Keep a cool head and take things at a slow pace.

WaterSix of Pentacles – Sometimes the small kindnesses you give others are in fact a warm and welcoming light in a cold night. For now, focus on providing that light, and taking sips of the comfort offered to you in turn.

FireSix of Swords – When your world begins to feel as if it is cracking and crumbling, make sure you are getting out in nature. It is through your time in the shadows of the wet woods that you find peace and restoration.

WaningThe Deer – Timidity and hesitation are not going to be helpful for you right now. Note how the deer walks with caution, how she paused often and is skittish in the extreme. These qualities have their place, but that place is not here in the week to come.

WaxingThe Kite – Spread your wings and seek to look outside yourself this week. Be open with others instead of closing yourself off and shutting people out.

Take Away – The cards for this week are providing me with advice on how to deal with and navigate my grief, while being supportive of others in my life that are also grieving.

Blood Moon Tarot, Phenomena Oracle, Wonderer's Traveling Oracle Deck

EarthThe Emperor and Supernova – You need to approach the physical world this week with energy and authority. Bolster yourself to make sure that your spirit is indomitable, and that there is nothing that can stand in your way. Shine brightly.

AirFour of Dreams and Blizzard – If you close your eyes, you are going to miss what’s important this week. Keep your eyes open.  This does not mean you shouldn’t take care of yourself, only that you shouldn’t allow yourself to fall into depression or let the subdrop get the best of you so that you retreat and try to hide from it.

WaterQueen of Skins atop Ten of Honey, Wind – Inspire both yourself and those around you to work towards the stability you seek. This stability goes beyond financial well-being, and is about ensuring you are well physically and emotionally also.  You can allow the changes going on to set you off balance and tumble you around like a fallen leaf, or you can stand firm and use these changes to your advantage.

FireNine of Dreams and Haboob – Your fears appear massive, but they are insubstantial. Don’t forget that the worry, stress, and anxiety are not reality.  They are temporary, like sand in the wind, and will pass… no matter how huge and insurmountable that they appear at the moment.

WaningAbundance / Greed – Don’t get greedy.  We’ve already seen in previous readings that the holiday rush is going to get off to a slow start this year. Be grateful for the abundance that comes, and don’t be greedy for more.  Patience.

WaxingLong Slog / Finishing Up – Focus on the finish line instead of the toiling gauntlet you have to work through to get there.  Keeping your eye on the prize will make the six weeks ahead of you go far more smoothly than focusing on your misery would.

Take Away – Resilience and patience are both going to be very important this week.  Not just patience with the business, but patience with yourself as well.   Don’t allow your anxieties to overtake you this week, and make sure you are taking care of yourself instead of letting emotions and fears drag you off track and into the weeds.
