Lets go for
a walk
out on the pier
and follow
the planks
to the very end
where it feels
we can find
where sky
and water
kiss
and the world
is all connected
through
each breath
we take
Take a breath
and let it come
a little at a time
as you wait
instead of push
as you pause
instead of run
and things
begin to fall
into place at
their own pace
but yet
it never feels
fast enough
and still
you fight to not
fidget
It doesn’t feel
alright
that time moves
so fast
and that weeks
feel like moments
and months
slip by
like sand
through fingertips.
How does time
move so fast
when it is
measured
so precisely
by man?
Fractured moments
and land mines
and I feel
like a failure
as I stand
so close to bliss
and yet
it is so far away
as broken moments
hurt feelings
and self judgements
keep my feet rooted
so that
I cannot reach
the bliss
I so desperately long for
Unintended
decoration
graces each branch
and every trunk
in this place
ruled
by moisture
and shades of shadow
cast by
overcast skies
fostering life
in shapes
sizes
and shades
never seen
anywhere else
I come from
a world of
blues and grays
that touch
the skin
with kisses
of moisture
even when
there is no rain
where all is wet
and sweet scents
of decay
mingle with
those of nature’s
earthy green
on the crisp air
