Crazy, kooky
nutty girl
with a
brand new toy
she twists and rolls
tackling the snake
she plays pretend
as tongue hairs
tangle
in woolly strands
and says…
“I love my new toy
Daddy.”
No giggles
no laughter
but there’s a whisper
there
Hidden eyes
see between
delicate droplets
peering out
from dark spaces
as the whisper
says again and again…
Old and wizened
he sits and waits
for those that find him
to greet with respect
and reverence
and for those that
worship at his feet
the wealth of
his blessings
spring forth
in the flutter of wings
and sweet swell
of the forest
upon the senses
