Look Deeper
The whisper comes
“look deeper”
causes feet to pause
and head to turn
as gaze scans
over green and gray
“look deeper” it says
coaxing the lean in
as curious gaze
gets entranced
by delicate swirls
and frills of life
hills and valleys
on a minute scale
Imagination
Sometimes
when you look up
into the sky
you see fluffy clouds
upon an expanse
of blue
and then
other times…
you see
Bugs Bunny
riding a rocket
Breath Plumes
Cold
chills the land
in dry
crunch grass
and the crackling
of thick ice
while mountains
await
being tucked in
by a blanket
of snow
I miss being numb
Somewhere To Hide
Lets crawl
through the dry brush
and dip low
to slip
under low hanging
boughs
so that the drip
of mossy tendrils
and brush
of spiny needles
can hide us away
from the world
beyond
Life Among the Cracks
Tiny little leaves
that climb
between the rocks
in vibrant splashes
of green and purple
preening
among concrete’s
sandy cracks.
If it weren’t so cold
I could sit
and admire them
for hours
The Lake
Breathless
sweaty
muscles ache
and burn
as the flush
of ascention
heats the flesh
and the water
looks so
inviting
Don’t let
the beauty
fool you tho…
it’s cold.
