Finding Stability

Today’s meditation was attempted, but not quite there.  I did the laying down and even the closing my eyes and breathing slow, but my brain wouldn’t calm to the point needed to actually feel like I accomplished meditating.   I did try, though.

Autumn Miss Tarot - Four of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Four of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of conservation, security, stability, acting the miser or spendthrift, self-inflicted stagnancy, and control.

In the imagery today’s card, what catches my eye today is that the crown the figure wears helps in holding the coin atop his head. Sometimes we all need a little help to feel stable. In the card, the figure has put on this crown to assist in this. What is it you do in your life that help you in feeling stable?

The message in today’s card is about those activities that make you feel stable and grounded, and encourages us to tap into those activities to help you in feeling stable today.

Philosophical Question for September 28th:
What are the 3 major strengths of humanity?

Manshin I Oracle and the 11:11 TarotYoung Man in Straw HatFriendship and Compassion – The ability to prioritize compassion over wealth, and connect deeply with others instead of everything remaining either solitary or superficial.

Xiwangmu Queen Mother of the WestReproduction and Good Health – Humanity thrives, even in times of struggle and when conditions are at their worst. They are not wiped out by plague or misfortune, but instead continue on, generation after generation.

Eopsin Goddess of Storage and WealthHope and Good Luck – Even in times when humanity is ignorant, good fortune lingers to provide a hand up, and as a result consequences are mitigated by luck and hope.

Topic for September 30th: Grab a spread of your choice that you’ve been curious about and give it a go!
Spread: Lionhart’s Reason Season Lifetime Spread

Reason – Why are things manifesting for me the way the are right now?

Four of Swords – Because you need to take a bit of time for extra rest and recovery right now. The lull won’t last forever, and you need this time of recuperation.

Season – What can I learn from my current path and that which surrounds me?

The Tower – Don’t catastrophize what is merely opportunity knocking on your door. Look for the boon instead of allowing pessimism to tear apart the possibilities being offered.

Lifetime – How does this fit into the bigger picture of my soul journey?

Temperance – Learning patience and moderation is an important part of your journey.  Being able to see the value in rest and giving yourself the time to recover is a part of learning to be more patient with yourself and your goals.  So is not making a big deal out of every opportunity that presents itself as sudden change.

Questions for September 29th and 30th

Autumn Miss Tarot and the Mad Doctor's OracleHow can I make time for rest and relaxation every day?

Nine of Pentacles and The Fall – Be more conscious of all the good stuff you’ve surrounded yourself with and your accomplishments.

When you rush, mistakes are made. You can accomplish just as much through focused mindfulness as by rushing, because the slower path wont hold as many setbacks, mistakes, and problems in the mix.

There’s truth in the saying that everything gets done in its own time.  In a lot of tasks and goals, you reach the finish line at the same time no matter if you rush or take your time, so why not slow down and enjoy the journey more instead of putting all that strain on yourself by rushing?

I got all of the October decks pulled earlier today, and I’m still amazed at the ease at which I can now pull decks with the shelves up instead of my previous system.

Stick a Fork In Me

Today’s meditation was skipped (again).

Autumn Miss TarotToday’s draw is the Ten of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of painful endings, closure, the end of a harsh and difficult journey, and in some instances, severe injury.

No blood (red drape aside)… he’s just done. He’s done. As in “stick a fork in me, I’m done” except in this case it’s swords.

This is the second day in a row I’ve pulled the Ten of Swords for my card of the day, and as a budding stalker in my life, this card asks… suggests… perhaps even demands that we examine those places in our lives where we are pushing ourselves too hard. Root them out, and accept that it’s time to take a break in those areas.

(This message is then conveniently reinforced by the fact that when I was putting this card back into the deck, the Four of Swords fell out, which is all about rest, recuperation, and recovery.)

Question for September 19th and 20th

Untamed Mystery Tarot Illusion Edition and Messenger CardsWhat lessons can Libra season (begins on the 22nd) teach you this year?

Deal with moments of misfortune (Wheel of Fortune) “like a boss” (King of Swords),and you will come out the other side happy with the results (The Sun).

StopJaguar and Hummingbird – Crowding yourself in and limiting your potential.  Your growth and the connection you share with the world around you and all that is within it is being smothered by your self-neglect and destructive tendencies.

Start – Raven’s Dream – You have a great deal of potential to explore within yourself, and can sore if you allow yourself the room to spread your wings.  Only when you give yourself the room to grow can you fully stretch into that space and connect with the growth eager to be activated within you.

ContinueBear and Raven – Continue to seek to understand yourself better and explore those deeper parts of yourself. Continue to cut loose the chaff in your life and clear away that which no longer works for you by getting in touch with yourself and the truths held deep within you about who you are and who you want to become.

Questions for September 19th thru 22nd

Autumn Miss Tarot and Bad Girl TarotHow do I choose hope over fear?

Ace of Pentacles– By seizing opportunities when they arise, you will always be able to choose hope over fear, for pursuing one’s dreams and being open to opportunity is one of the greatest demonstrations of hope thriving within us all.

How can I put myself first?

Two of Swords – Putting yourself first is a conscious choice and takes decisive action. When you dither on it, you fall to the default of self-neglect.

Can I accept myself – even my faults?

Page of Cups – Find joy and take pleasure in your imagination and curiosity. In doing so you will find acceptance of all parts of who you are. Just remember this is a learning process for you.

Do I feel I deserve…

LoveThe Devil Rx – Not of the healthy variety.

CompassionEight of Cups – Clearly not. You expect people to turn their backs and walk away.

EmpathyThe Hierophant – No. Instead you expect to need to teach others this quality, usually by example.

Take Away – Honestly? I’m a self-destructive pessimist with an aggressive negative inner narrative. I almost always expect the worst when it comes to what I might receive from others in these areas… and then am pleasantly surprised (and sometimes also confused) when I get something good instead.

Weekly Creativity Prompt – The Sun

Prompt: “Pull the card from your deck(s) that matches the card posted below. Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own decks). How would you read them differently and why?”

Tarot of the Hidden Realm - The Sun CardTarot of the Hidden Realm – Children touch upon an innocence that is often depicted in the Sun card in tarot, and here we see two that play together, a flower in full bloom and abundance of green giving an impression of success that is about happiness and the butterfly above their heads lends a carefree atmosphere to time spent together.  This card speaks of happiness being about those you spend time with and the joy found in abundance, camaraderie, and sharing rather than monetary values.

The Sun Card - Lonely Dreamer Tarot, Förhäxa Tarot, Autumn Miss Tarot

The Lonely Dreamer Tarot – Here in the imagery of this card that is a serenity provided in the pool of water the figure stands in and the reflection of her form upon its surface.  The pool is calm and smooth, and the form of the woman graceful as the sun overhead turns the water into pure gold. The imagery in this card speaks to me of success in its many forms.  Not everything has to be about excitement, optimism, and positivity. Sometimes it’s in our most calm and serene moments where we discover true value in ourselves and the world around us.

Förhäxa Tarot – In this imagery, an angel appears to reap energy from a forest fire’s blaze below.  This speaks to me of there being no energy ever wasted.  Even forest fires have their purpose, and that energy is not wasted either. There is mystery here, but also hope.  Strength, too.  This card says that failures are not always failures at all, but rather a plan that is simply beyond our ken put into action.  It encourages, optimism and asks us to reject pessimistic viewpoints for a more positive perspective.

Autumn Miss Tarot – This card’s imagery is the closest to the traditional RWS imagery, and it speaks to me not of fun… not of joy or of peace (for who in their right mind can be peaceful, optimistic, and joyful when riding a horse while without paints?)  Instead, it speaks to me of success earned through tenacity and hard work, and the celebration of that success (as seen in the flying of the red banner the figure holds and the clenched fist of the other hand).
