Weekly Creativity Prompt – King of Pentacles

Prompt: “Pull the King of Pentacles card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?

King of Pentacles - Tarot of the Hidden RealmTarot of the Hidden Realm – The man in this card reminds me of Santa, which isn’t really at all out of character for the King of Pentacles. The imagery says to me that it’s okay to take comfort in those that make you feel safe and stable. Security is important, and spending time with those that help you in feeling secure is a valuable thing. It’s something to savor and cherish and enjoy while you can.

King of Pentacles in the Storybook Christmas Tarot, Christmas Cheer Tarot, and Xmas Elf Tarot

Storybook Christmas Tarot – You know that saying “Come to the Dark Side, we have Cookies”?  That’s where this card takes me, although it isn’t so much the “dark side” as it is a recommendation to follow in the footsteps of those that have shown they have the skill and acumen to build a stable foundation and surround themselves in wealth.

Christmas Cheer Tarot – You know what is of value, how to obtain it and how to enjoy it. You know it’s worth, and will neither squander it, nor hoard it to yourself. Instead, share it with others, allow them to see the fruits of your labors, and use this to inspire them to follow your lead.

Xmas Elf Tarot – This elf seems just a bit cranky with his tight fist grip and upturned nose. The card appears to me to be a reminder that there’s a difference between stability and hoarding, and that can sometimes be a very fine line.  This card reminds us to turn over a new leaf in how we see wealth (the snow drops in the foreground), and asks us to examine more closely what we perceive as stability and security.

Tarotholics Challege Lenormand Reading with Nöel's X-mas Lenormand

Where should you direct your focus this week to develop healthier boundaries?

Birds and Tower – Watch out for those around you using gossip and persuasion to circumvent your boundaries and limits. Don’t let their chatter distract you.

What do you need to focus on for self-care for this full moon?

Ship and Rider – Don’t let stagnancy seep in and settle into your bones, even while you’re away from home this week. You need a certain amount of movement to keep yourself healthy and happy, even if what you’d rather do is wallow.

🌕 Full Moon in Cancer – December 2023

Later today is the full moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s full moon spread is provided by Seeds of Shakti.

Cancer Full Moon Tarot Reading with the XMas Elf Tarot

What medicine does the Cancer Full Moon offer?

The Empress – The Cancer Full Moon is offering you an opportunity for self-care and to guide things in a healthy direction that can foster positive growth.

How can I drop into my heart space to hear my true-SELF?

King of Wands – Stay anchored in those things that inspire you. You can lead yourself and others forward into the future through inspiration just as easily as through obligation.

How can I heal wounds that are being illuminated for me, in particular ones connected to my kindred circle?

Two of Pentacles – Return to balance. Throughout the holiday season you have been overtaxed and laser focused on your business and cranking out orders. To heal from this time of neglect to both yourself and your kindred circle, you need to now focus on returning your life and your focus back into balance.

How can I hold space for self-love to thrive, so that I feel nurtured?

Three of Cups – Instead of focusing on responsibility and obligation, use this after-rush time to cut loose and have some fun with others.

In what aspect of my life do I need to be kinder to myself?

The Emperor – It’s not easy being the one that everyone looks to and depends on. It’s not easy being the one making hard choices for the benefit of others. It’s okay to need to take a break and let others deal with things themselves for a bit.

Full Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Ten of Pentacles – Savor this time that is stable and financially secure enough to allow you to spend time with others and they with you.

Tarotholics Challenge Oracle Reading with the Yule Oracle

Where do you need to practice more tolerance with others?

Holiday Cookies – Turn your focus towards working on preserving those relationships closest to you. You’ve been so worn out, stressed, and dealing with a lot of pain. It makes you a bit snippy with others, and they feel those little snips and snipes… sometimes deeply.  Be aware of this, and work on treating them with more kindness and understanding.

How can you foster more tolerance within your heart?

Ornament – Keep your focus on how you want things to be or become, instead of how they are. What healthy and happy future do you want to develop going forward? By keeping your focus here, it allows you to work towards that goal instead of getting caught up in the discomfort or misery of the moment and reacting badly to it.

Where do you need to step up with your self-care over the holidays?

Sparklers – Take care with how much you put on your plate, even when feeling inspired. The more you pile on during this time at the end of your holiday rush, the more weight you will have to bear later on. Give yourself a break and write down your inspirations instead of acting on them immediately.

What do you need to focus on to keep your holiday cheer intact?

Cinnamon – Focus on the abundance of love and support that you have around you. Warm feelings and warm hearts will allow you to see the positive and give you that boost of holiday cheer you’re finally getting a bit of time to savor.

How can you best respond to those that try to “stir the pot” this holiday?

Tinsel – Instead of reacting outright to this “stir the pot” behavior that they’re exhibiting, use your ability to suss out and understand different perspectives to examine why they behave as they do.

How can you express your emotions with more love and kindness?

Poinsettia – View the holidays and this down time with others as a way to explore all the ways in which you are fortunate and all the things you have to be grateful for.

Tarotholics Challenge Oracle Reading with The Christmas Oracle

What is it that you’re burying that needs to be set free?

Snowflakes – It’s time to dig up and set free yourself and those unique qualities within you that make you special. You’ve closed down in a lot of areas throughout the holiday rush, including this one, and now that the rush is drawing to a close, it’s time to begin reacquainting yourself with what makes you unique and sharing those qualities with others again.

How can you invite more creative spark into your life?

Family Dinner – Invite others in instead of holding them at a distance. You try so hard to keep people from seeing when you are struggling and the true extent of your efforts, when if you would instead allowed them to see, they would happily help.

What do you need to be more grateful for?

Coal – The lessons learned through the mistakes you’ve made need to be reflected on and appreciated. It’s through giving them attention and being grateful for what you’ve learned along the way that you are able to avoid repeating the same mistakes all over again.

Winter Solstice 2023 – Yule Day Lenormand Reading

Yuletide Lenormand Reading with the Simply Christmas Lenormand

What aspect of yourself is seeking growth?

Cross and Letter – Communicating your struggles to others is something that you’ve always had difficulty with, and it results in you taking on more and more burden instead of it being distributed among those that could help. This is an area you still need to work on, for as much as you’ve improved in this area, you still have a long way to go.

How can you shed light on this aspect to allow for that growth?

Dog and Key – The key here is in trusting those that are loyal to you. Sharing your struggles and how you are doing with them opens you up to vulnerability.  It’s through those that are trusted and loyal that you are safe in opening up and sharing. Cast your attention their way.

What needs to be sacrificed to allow room for this growth?

Tree and Lady – Stop worrying so much about her health and well-being, and instead focus on your own.
