Self Care Saturday (on Sunday)

As I’ve mentioned before, these readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and are not meant as a predictive reading.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

SCS

EarthTen of Swords, Seven of Cups, Taurus (The Lover) – The message here is about over-indulging and having been too much in my head lately. Over the next week it will be important to get back in touch with grounding myself and finding that steady center. Considering how stuck I have felt lately, these cards are right on the mark. I feel like I have been a little too lax with myself and need to tighten up the reigns. It will be important to do this one step at a time, but even that slow progress is better than stagnancy.

AirFive of Pentacles, Waxing Crescent (Play), Waxing Gibbous (Manifest) – “Find the Fun” is the message here. I’ve spent too much time in my head (as mentioned previously) and not enough time creating the right kind of energy to spark my interest and get me moving. Changes for the better are coming, but in order to dig myself out of the slump? I need to find the fun.

WaterThree of Cups and Honey Moon (Productivity) – Building on the “find the fun” theme of things and finding my way forward out of this slump, the cards are indicating that enlisting the help of friends and love ones will not just make the work and transition I’m looking to manifest far more enjoyable, but also create a greater level of productivity without it feeling so much like work.

FireQueen of Wands, The Star, Pisces (The Psychic) – This is another call to reach for grounding energy and stay in the present. Looking too far ahead or too far behind can distract and overwhelm. By keeping focused on the present, though, the path forward can become illuminated one step at a time instead of seemingly being a tangle of “to do’s” and “what should I do’s”.

WaningWaxing Crescent (Nourishment) – This card is a reiteration of the message above, especially in the earth position. It is about getting off my ass and taking the first steps instead of coddling myself and my indecision.

WaxingWaxing Gibbous (Focus) – Combined with the message in the Waning position, this card is an indication that I need to train my focus on moving forward. Foster that focus moving through the next week and I will be able to begin digging myself out of the quagmire of inaction I’ve found myself in lately.

Take Away – Focusing upon the present is really important right now, as is tightening up the reigns on my self-indulgent behavior, and reaching out to others to help make moving forward with my plans not just productive but fun as well.

EarthPage of Swords, Elevate, and Be Careful Signing Contracts – Hmmmm… I wonder if my mortgage contract is coming up for renewal this week. I need to call the bank on Monday and check. I am also currently in the process of changing my medical insurance to a different provider. The cards are indicating something along these lines needs to be taken care of and re-evaluated to provide myself with a better position than the one I’m currently in.

AirThree of Wands, Ace of Swords, and You Are Not Alone in This Uncertain Place – I need to remember that even though I am feeling unbalanced and uncertain while reorganizing how I run things with the business, I have people around me who love me and are willing to provide help or support as needed. I don’t have to do it alone, and it’s okay to ask for help when needed.

WaterThe Moon and Not My Circus Not My Monkeys – Tend to your own garden and don’t let other people pull you into their chaos and drama. Allowing that will just cause confusion and lack of clarity.

AirAce of Pentacles, King of Swords, and The Enemy of Intuition is Self Doubt – Stay centered while on this new path with my ambition and passions, because you don’t want to allow self-doubt to filter in and screw with your perceptions and plans.

WaningLa Ruche et Surmenage – Don’t forget there is a life outside of work and running the business. It might feel like you’re not getting a lot done, but sometimes you need to take time to rest and step away, regroup and then come back fresh later on.

WaxingLa Tortue et Sagesse, L’anneau et Union – Wisdom and longevity in a solid and beneficial union. I definitely need to check on my mortgage contract and take a close and careful look at the new medical insurance package and contract.

Take Away – There’s going to be an element of self doubt and uncertainty in the week ahead and the plans I have been in the beginning stages of implementing to change some of the aspects of my business and work. It’ll be important to stay on track and pay close attention to my own issues and let others deal with their own shit this week rather than trying to help out.

Also, be sure to contact the bank to check on my mortgage contract, and take a close look at my new benefits package and make sure everything in there is as it should be and to my advantage.

JumperSeven of Pentacles – Be sure to allow yourself a sense of accomplishment in all areas and aspects of your experiences this week. Appreciate all you’ve done and accomplished as this year comes to a close.

EarthFive of Wands and Blue Morpho – You may need to do some fighting to obtain a level of happiness and joy in the area of work this week, but it will be worth it.

AirThe Empress and Geode – Focus on caring for the self and being kind to the self this week. Your inner self needs some love, so be sure to give it the nurturing energy and attention it needs, especially concerning your thoughts and how you talk to yourself.

WaterAce of Cups and Caiman – The new depth of emotions from the fall is starting to resurface. Be ready for hints of its arrival, as it can be sneaky and might take you by surprise if you’re not ready for it.

FireNine of Wands and Asphodel – It’s time to release the guarded feeling I’ve had concerning ideas and creativity since the fall. This week, try to focus on letting go and making peace with your creative spark, and give that inner flame a chance to breathe a bit.

WaningRaven’s Wand – Perfectionism is something that I strive for constantly, and yet I know is not something I can actually achieve. It’s time to ease up on myself and my drive to always be perfect. This doesn’t mean I have to give up on doing my best, only that I need to let go of feeling like nothing I do is good enough.

WaxingIndependence – “Good organization is the cornerstone to empowerment.” This is a quote from the guidebook for this deck, and I think it speaks volumes about where I need to focus on moving into in the week ahead. I need to ground my feet and steady myself, than move forward centered and strong.

Take Away – Acceptance, especially of the self, is key this week. This includes not just acceptance of those things that are good and right, but also your flaws and struggles. By integrating all of these things, and accepting them as a part of who you are, strength can bloom that will create the stability and strength needed to move forward confidently into the new year.

EarthThe Moon, Six of Cups, Mandala – There is currently a restructuring and shift of focus going on, and I need to be sure that during this shift I am focusing on a sense of pleasure in those changes I like, rather than the uncertainty involved in the changes that might trigger my anxiety.

AirThe World and Community – As indicated with the Mandala card in the position of Earth, the World card indicates a change and shift. It speaks of the completion of the chaos that the fall has been for me and a return to a more harmonious time. The reminder here is to not discount the benefits of those around me and the support they can bring to the table during the transitions taking place.
I received the World card in my Winter/Yule spread today as well (with a different deck), also in the Air position. This indicates that the message here goes beyond just the week and may stretch through the season as a whole.

WaterThe Tower and The Message – Change is extremely difficult on the emotions, which is an area in which I am not the strongest confidence-wise to begin with. That can create a “the sky is falling” feeling that can turn my emotions into an fuck-all mess beneath the surface. The cards indicate this experience, but also provide encouragement for me to not close off. Instead, take care to remain open and receptive.

FireNine of Cups and The Owl – I don’t need to worry about what I need to move forward in my business at the moment. Everything is in order and when the time is right, it will be there for me. At the moment, I need to instead direct my intention towards more personal interests, including my spirituality.

WaningIntelligence – (intuitive hit off imagery) It’s time to get out of my head and stop over thinking everything.

WaxingMove and Kitchen Magick – This is an echo of the Fire position, and speaks of having what I need to move forward when the timing is right, but that for now I need to focus more upon personal interests and my spirituality.

Take Away – Set aside business matters and financial anxieties for the week ahead. Things are going to be slow. You know things are going to be slow. This isn’t a surprise, so don’t let it tangle you up in worry, stress, and anxiety to the point you think the end is neigh. Instead, now is the time to focus on self care and development. Allow yourself time to explore some of your more esoteric interests and re-align yourself spiritually for the year ahead.

EarthFive of Swords and Innocence – I see a coffee stain. You know those rings that stain wood when you put a hot cup of coffee on an unprotected wood surface? That’s what I see. The message here is that things can’t always go as planned, but it’s important to see those moments not as frustrations and struggles, but as opportunities for adventure and growth.

AirJudgement and Truth – Sometimes it’s important to step back and look at the big picture and make sure you are on track. This week is going to be a time when this is probably going to be slapping me in the face. It will be important to look through the lens of honesty to see not just the truth of what has happened but a clear perspective on what is to come.

WaterDeath and Solitude – Ooph… this is not going to be pretty, yeah? It’s okay though, yeah? The cards here are about the slowing down of the holiday rush, which always brings with it a bit of a moroseness as I adjust to things going back to normal. The cards are a reminder not to close myself off during this time of adjustment that is coming.

FireEight of Wands and Silence – I have all the tools at hand that I need to finish out the holiday rush, no matter the speed I need to work with or how busy it becomes. By the end of the week, though, things will have slowed down and quieted to the point that I’ll be feeling a spark of anxiety.

WaningMovement 2 – It’s time to let go of the present and move on to the next stage. This is an echo of what the cards are already speaking of above. The last few weeks have been all about strength and control. Now, that time is beginning to wane.

WaxingGrowth 0 and Growth 21 – It’s time to ground and center, and look ahead to what I want to happen for the year ahead.

Take Away – I am approaching the end of a very manic and frantic cycle that is filled with an abundance of chaos and control working in balance with each other. As this time comes to a close over the next week, I will go through an adjustment period that runs the risk of toppling me into anxiety and depression if I let it. Instead, I need to make sure I am staying focused upon the future and what I want to manifest into my life in the new year ahead.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

EarthFive of Swords and Trust – It will be important to remember to trust in yourself over the next week in order to better work through the struggles that the week will bring. These struggles more than likely have to do with the holiday rush, and I need to remember that I am strong enough and resilient enough to work through this time of year without things falling apart completely.

AirKnight of Pentacles and Return – I need to remember to balance all that hard work andΒ  productivity that I have going on right now with some time outside among the trees. My mind is becoming crazily cluttered during all this work going on right now. If I want to keep things in balance, I need to remember to connect with those things that strengthen my roots.

WaterFive of Pentacles, Soften, Revive – This appears to be a recurring theme this week. The cards indicate I need to stop closing myself off and make sure I remain open to the support of others in my life to help me keep my emotions not just balanced, but uplifted and out of the dark pit that they can sometimes fall into.

FireFour of Cups and Distance – Step back from the apathy, but keep the distance. I can’t explore my creative spark right now when my drive and ambition is being challenged by an overwhelm of work. Don’t allow this separation from my creative spark to bring me down. The holiday rush will be over soon and I can return to that spark once more.

WaningHe of the Fiery Sword – That fierce, go-get-em energy that pushes forward, ever forward towards justice and right and the goals that require an extra oomph of drive.

WaxingGloominous Doom – In the week ahead it will be important to pay attention to self-destructive habits and ensure that I do not begin to slide down the slippery slope of pessimism and negativity that can often come with the self destructive urges that can often visit and draw my eye and interest.

Take Away – It appears that this week is going to be a bit of a struggle, especially on the mental and emotional level. I need to make sure I watch out for pitfalls that could cause me to slip into a depression either in the now, or in the near future once things slow down. A little extra self-care and me-time could go a long way this week in helping keep things balanced and healthy.
