Little tree spirit
in the herb garden
peeking out between
healthy green leaves
sweet smiling face
there to greet
whenever the herbs
have needs
and at harvest time
they watch closely
as sprigs are snipped
with care
and stands in solidarity
as new leaves unfurl
to greet the air
Fuzzy Baby
Sleepy soft
and lazy sweet
with a dreamy gaze
an invitation to sleep
come and cuddle
downy soft fur
just don’t tickle
or sharp teeth
come out
“come to bed”
Miss Luna says
it’s soft and warm
and I’ll knead
your head and
knot your hair
Sweet Summer
Swaying blossoms
dance in the breeze
as quiet chimes
play off key
in the distance
as the scent
of fragrant lilacs
kiss the senses
to blend with
sweet summer
scents
of cut grass
and sun warmed
asphalt
The Bounty
Soft and fuzzy
nice and warm
protection given
a peaceful promise
sworn
brew some tea
with purple petals
and hang
green leaves
to dry to brittle
garden gifts
for health and home
precious treasures
I have grown

Bribery works
when nothing else will
when tastebuds
say
“no thanks, not today”
and there’s nothing
appealing enough
to lead you astray
a trip to the bakery
might do the trick
and some Heckboy tea
to sit and sip

As the first colors
of the season
begin to fade
new brighter shades
come to take
their place
yet echos of what was
linger here
and there
like delicate memories
everlasting
and fair
