Color flushes up
from collar bones
to slide along soft skin
of throat to eats
and tips pinken
as cheekbones
flush with pink hues
even as the color
continues to spread
to nape
all because you stare
so intently
that my heart flutters
wildly

The Catnip
Bright green fades
as oils leech free
and the cat is
no longer
interested in thee
but the beauty of fall
graces your leaves
in a beautiful celebration
of the chill in the breeze
soon leaves will fall
as stems wither away
as ice replaces chill
and cold invades

Another world
wondrous and amazing
lies just beneath
our noses and our boots
if we are willing
to look closer
to see the miracle
of things unimaginable
hidden
within the ordinary

Peacefullness
in a moment
spent
just watching

as time passes
silent
as the stillness

and life

Battered and bruised
delicate bits show
wear and tear
wounds and scars
scattered over
soft surfaces
from weathering
life’s rough
treatment

we still bloom
for there is
strength
