A trip to the restroom
into a stall I step
and turn
to find something
far too adult
at face level
on the door
and I have to pause
for just a moment
and wonder
how it is something
so innocent
could become
so very perverted
in one’s mind
Spring begins
with sweet blooms
small and delicate
opening
to greet the sun
and soon
vibrant shades
of yellow and pink
are sure to come
as life stirs
eager and bright
in the breeze
that carries
crisp new scents
and raindrops tease
I am ready
for spring’s warm kiss
to ease the sharp nip
of morning frost
and awaken within
hard earth
the seeds that push
and pierce through soil
and green to replace
dried husks of gold
allowing rebirth
to begin
I need your love
crushing and close
as arms coil tight
and your skin
gives my face
a place to
nuzzle in close
and allows me
to breathe in
your scent
as the silent ache
that resides inside
is soothed
by your touch
Like shades of green
and speckled shadow
permeates
the forest
you
permeate my soul
making up the
breadth and width
of how my love
works
and how it stretches
bright and eager
for the light
that is your touch
