Balancing Stability and Motion

Today’s meditation was skipped.

The Victorian Romantic Tarot - Four of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Four of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of stability and security in the areas of finance, resources, hearth and home, health, and manifestations. It’s about conservation of resources and creating a sense of security by having what one needs.

The imagery in this card feels like a reminder that even in areas of stability and security, we need a little bit of balance.  Too much… and we end up weighed down and stagnating… too little and there’s no stability at all.

The card today is a reminder that you need motion as well as stability… it’s not an either-or situation.  Rather, it’s important to have a balance of stillness and movement.  Don’t get so focused on stability that you forget and end up weighed down.

Question for February 12th : How can I heal myself so that I am able to increase the love I have for myself?

Fairytale Oracle CardsLittle Red-Cap – Trust is the key to any good relationship. It’s hard to find other people to trust, but you should be able to trust yourself without question. Remember that your inner child was betrayed a great deal. You have the opportunity and ability to restore their trust in you, but you need to stand up to those negative inner narratives in order to show them that you intend to protect them from those harsher parts of yourself earned from your past.

The Frog Prince – Integrity is what is used to create trust. That includes the trust between your adult self and your inner child mentioned above. Be honest with yourself, and honest with your inner child. Change is not easy, but it’s important to make it clear that you’re trying.

How King Midas Lost His Ears – Intention is the glue that makes the changes you want to make stick within your life. Intention and willpower make those things you want to change become a part of the future instead of just the whims of the moment.

Like yesterday’s card, today’s card is more about the imagery than it is about what card it is in the tarot. There is encouragement here to wait. Soul in tatters and not fully unscathed, nevertheless right now is a waiting game. There’s no more action you can take no matter how much anxiety or energy you pour into the problem. For the time being it’s not in your hands, so just sit back and wait.

Aside from this there is also a meaning in this card that has to do with my current situation as well. This card is about boundaries, and it’s about protecting what is important to you. It is a reminder that there are things I can do to help make myself a little less dependent on others, a little more independent, and a little more protected concerning ending up helpless at the whims of others.

I need to look into finding someone to build me a commerce website… or building one myself. Then if the rug is pulled out from under me on the platforms on which I run my business, I at least have a recourse already set up and ready to go. that’s going to be expensive, and I don’t really want to do it. But I think it’s time.
