I Accept Consequences

#DailyTrip with the Calm app - Meditation isn't an escape from life, it's a way to go deeper into it. Quote by Jeff WarrenToday’s meditation was eleven minutes long, and was one of the #DailyTrip sessions from the Calm app.

Today’s session was about escapism, and how we use different methods to try to escape from reality.  Some of them are healthy (reading, exercise, vacations, etc), while others not so much (drugs, alcohol, risk taking behaviors, etc).

The session discussed how meditation, for many, is one of those things people try to use as an escape, when reality the practice of meditation is not an escape, but a honing in on the present. It’s living each single moment entirely in that moment… one moment at a time.

Affirmation Prompt for April 19th
: I Accept…

Maruco Animal Tarot - JusticeJustice – I accept that my actions have consequences.

You accept that with each decision you make there will be a reaction in turn. Instead of trying to foist off the blame on others, you accept that you made the choices you did fully knowing that there were consequences that may be involved that you wouldn’t like.

Sometimes, you play out the cause and effect beforehand, and know that the consequences might not be what you want out of the experience but do it anyway.  Other times, even though you anticipate the consequences may be unpleasant but unpredictable, you roll the dice.

Through it all, though, you own your actions, your decisions, and the choices you make… even those choices that don’t feel like choices at all. After all, how can you learn from your mistakes if you won’t admit to the mistakes you make?

@Lionharts #TheAprilTarot Mercury Musing Prompt
Question for April 22nd
: How can I best revisit past decisions or choices with a fresh perspective?

The Empty Cup Oracle and Forager's Daughter Tarot - Seven of Pentacles, Five of Pentacles, The TowerThe Tower Rx and Hatchet – When looking at those times when the world seems like it was ending and there was going to be no future to rebuild, look at how you handled the situation instead of letting it just spiral out of control.  Take time to examine how you took control, and in doing so help to direct things back to safer ground.

Seven of Pentacles and Book – Consider the instances where you have been stymied by a need to have patience and wait for results, and how that time of waiting has given you a chance to research and better yourself, preparing you to increase the yield of the end result.

Five of Pentacles and Diving Helmet – How many times have you allowed feelings of scarcity to cut you off from reality and isolate you in a miasma of despair?  What protections have you established that help in keeping you safe from this happening again?  Are you using those protections, or are they sitting on a shelf gathering dust and becoming obsolete through lack of practice in using them?

#DiscordTarotholicsApr2024 Challenge Prompt
Question for April 22nd
: Earth Day – What activity will help you connect more closely with the earth?

Maruco Animal Tarot - The Emperor, Four of Pentacles, Ace of SwordsReading Summary: Stop trying to reinvent the wheel (Ace of Swords). You know what activities help to ground you and nurture you in a sense of security and stability (Four of Pentacles), so take on the responsibility of making sure that you are participating in those activities instead of avoiding them. It’s better for you, and better for everybody around you as well (The Emperor).

Take Away: In other words, stop thinking about it and just do it already. You know you need it.

That “it”, incidentally, being getting out in nature. Yes, it sucks that you can’t do the hard hikes that you’re used that take you up into unpopulated areas… but that doesn’t mean you can’t still spend some time among the trees. You know that you need it.

Daily Self Kindness

I took a nap.  I spent time with Gid. I meditated. And, I did my cards (for the first time in days).

Good Omens Tarot Reading

Good Omens Oracle Reading with The Empty Cup Oracle and Prosperitea Game Cards

Manifest: What positive energies or opportunities are manifesting in my life right now?

Flying Fish and Assam (Camellia sinensis var. assamica) – You do not have to be grounded all of the time. It’s healthy for you to cut loose and try new things. Step outside the box and follow the occasional urge that you would normally write off as frivolous or out of character.

Embrace: How can I recognize and embrace the good omens around me?

Pinky Promise and Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) – Work on becoming more aware of what’s really worth your energy and on easing your grip on everything else. When you are overburdened and distracted, it can be difficult to keep your gaze on the path to the person you want to become. Step back from the stress and burden enough to keep that path forward in your sights.

Note… a big part of that person you want to become included continuing to lean into positivity and optimism in order to counteract your pessimistic tendencies.

Align: What actions can I take to align myself with positive outcomes and blessings?

Diving Helmet and Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis) – Relax, stay calm, and breathe deeply. Use the tools you know work to promote the sense of grounded calm that you need in order to be receptive to good things.

Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot, The Empty Cup Oracle, Yarn of Mama Shamana Oracle

EarthSea Battle, Mosquito, and Broom – Neither of the girls in the cards look particularly thrilled with the prospect of bloodshed and violence. The brook indicates it’s time to brush away the worries that everything is going to come crashing down in a mess of epic proportions.  Take a breath, cleanse yourself of the stress and strain that the last couple of months have piled on your chest concerning your financial stability and security.  It’s time to clear the air of that fog and distance yourself from it as best you can, even if it means stripping off that pretty blue dress (your composure) and having an emotional moment in order to do so.

AirDrippy Ice Cream and Tangle – Don’t allow your insecurities to eat your brains. Sometimes when you allow your inner critic too much freedom, it gets everything in your head all tangled up and you end up biting a chunk out of yourself purely by accident.  That inner critic? It revels in the chaos and the insecurity that it causes.  Don’t let it push you to the point you end up secretly nibbling away at yourself while presenting that pretty facade of “everything is okay”.  There’s shit going on back there in the shadows… don’t ignore it.

WaterTangled Rose and Cutting Board – This ties into the Air position.  Everything needs pruning now and then or else it gets unruly and chaotic.  That includes your emotions.  Make sure that you don’t let your emotions get all tangled up and invested with the inner critic’s ploy.  That mental struggle going on does not have to turn into an emotional maelstrom.

FireRapunzel’s Dragon and Concentric Rings – Take some time to examine your past and how it influences how you feel about yourself and your craft.  You’re skilled and passionate about your business, but what lies behind your business is both creativity and that creative spark that drives you.  Don’t lose touch with that but instead explore it and how it has influenced you.

WaningLemon Gathering and “She stands up taller and breathes in deeper” – It’s time for a reality check. It’s okay to take pride in yourself, getting where you are at now took a lot of hard work and that is worth a bit of acknowledgement.  Just don’t let that pride go to your head.  Stay conscious of how you view others and grounded in your interactions with them.

WaxingIn the Boat and “while others stay fearful to open their doors” – You have someone on your side to watch your back.  Don’t allow fear to rule you.  That big bad wolf in your back pocket is there whenever you need him to keep watch so that you can feel safe and secure.

Take Away – There’s a serious need of cleansing indicated in these cards.  A cleaning away of fears and worries and hidden judgements about both myself and others.  This is a safe time to take care of this process of cleansing out those things, as you have someone in the boat with you that is eager and ready to stand guard over you and protect your back while you deal with your inner crap.
