Tarotgazing Deck - Nine of SwordsThe @GlitterbyInk #DecemberDays25 Beyond the Solstice Challenge
The Archetype Prompt for December 16
: Bold
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Nine of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of nightmares, anxiety, insomnia, and negative thoughts and inner narratives.

Fortune favors the bold, or so they say.

That means even when you’re scared or worried or plague by anxiety… you still move forward and keep going. When you remain still and entertain these fears and anxieties, it allows them to grow and become bigger and bigger, taking over more and more of your life.

The message in today’s card and prompt combination is a reminder that your fears are not as big as you think they are, but you actually have to confront them in order to prove that to yourself.  If you don’t?  Then they’ll just continue to grow and grow in your mind.

The Magician Prompts for December 16th

Tarot Reading with the Winter Waite Tarot 2019 Revised EditionA turn of the tide

The Fool – Consider the ways in which you have been foolish or naïve this year, and consider how you can shift this mindset into safer territory. There are better places to allow that foolishness and naivety full reign.

A part to play

Eight of Pentacles – Try looking into at how you can instill fun and play into your work without losing the responsibility aspect in the process. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

A truth that can’t hide

Queen of Cups – You need more nurturing than you’re getting, and you may need to provide it for yourself if no one else can step up fill that gap (or get past that natural resistance you have to accepting it in the first place). This is why you continue to crave “mother energy” in your life.

A choice to weigh

Four of Cups – Do you really want to be alone, or is it just what you’re used to? You’re never going to be an extrovert, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t take comfort in the presence of others and enjoy their company when it’s offered.

Other elements included in this reading:
Wood burned Bear for Strength and Fostering Protective Instincts
Foraged Lodgepole Pine for Resilience, Growth, and Renewal
Scotch Pine Cones for Purging Negative Influences
Rose Quartz for Gentle Kindness to Self and Others
Citrine for Energy Lift (easing the weight of heavy energies)

Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

Tarot Reading with the Tarotgazing DeckHow can you better connect with your intuition and decrease self-doubt?

Four of Swords; Ten of Vessels atop The World – Everything feels better and works better when you get the rest you need. That includes your intuition. You are able to move forward with greater certainty when you have an appropriate amount of rest under your belt and hope in your heart.

Philosophical Question: Is a “wrong” act okay if nobody ever knows about it?

King of Coins and Ace of Staves – These cards first and foremost ask you to define “wrong”. They ask… who decides?

Beyond this, they also speak of keeping in mind that when you start a journey, it’s usually best to start on the right foot. What you build from these beginnings is growth from a seed planted at the start. Thus, when you start with a “wrong” act, the seed that the foundation of what you are growing will be corrupt, and the foundation will not be as strong as that otherwise could be.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Parmeliaceae Lichen for a “Breath of Fresh Air”
Dried Red Maple Leaf for Adaptability and Connection
Conch Shell Knot for Concentration and Clarity

Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

Daily Self Kindness

I took a nap.  I also officially switched my packaging processing company so that I don’t have to travel north to ship out my orders any longer.  The company will disperse them to ship from different locations along I-5 for me (a stalker precaution that I’ve been doing myself up until now).

Fertilized Roots

Today’s meditation was skipped (again).

The Lost Tarot - Two of WandsToday’s draw is the Two of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of planning, direction, looking ahead, and future planning that often involves strategy and decision making.

A child playing dress up as the knight he’ll some day become. That is what I see in the imagery for today’s card.

We all had dreams and aspirations when we were young.  Often, they change as we grow older. Our dreams to become princesses and space men turn into more practical things with age.  That’s what growing up is all about.

Today’s card is a reminder of those long ago dreams. It’s about where we come from… and where we’re going.  It’s about looking at those dreams of childhood and acknowledging that they are the fertilizer of the roots from which we have grown, and appreciate how they have influenced who we have become.

Questions for May 17th thru 19th

Tarotgazing Deck and The Hero's Journey Dream OracleWhat desires and drives have escaped my control?

Six of Vessels and The Thin Thin Veil – The influences of your past are still dictating a great deal of your current behavior, proving that when someone passes on, their influences continue to remain for as long as you allow them to.

How can I develop self-mastery?

The Star and You Are Invited – Work at lifting yourself up. Optimism and positivity can give you the strength to break through recalcitrant behavior and join the world more fully. This in turn will give you greater control over your unhealthy habits.

What limits does reality impose on my dreams?

The Tower, The Call atop Be Reborn Daily – Reality will continue to tear things down so that you have to rebuild them into something better. Sometimes this is going to impose limits on your dreams, and at other times it will be a catalyst to changing your dreams entirely into something new and better.

The #ConnectWithYourDeckChallenge Prompt by E Roebuck-Jones
Questions for May 17th and 18th

The Lost TarotHow can I say no to others and be kind?

Be sensitive to their fears (The Star) and use the tools at your disposal (The Magus) to turn around the rejection into something new (Death).

Build hope instead of just shooting someone down on the spot. You can always offer a different perspective or a new opportunity out of a rejection instead of just leaving it as a rejection in and of itself.

What makes it difficult for me to say no to others?

It’s hard for you, in new relationships and friendships (Ace of Cups), to be able to predict how people are going to react (Wheel of Fortune), and you often then worry that if you say no it will turn into a huge chaotic mess of a problem (The Blasted Tower).

This is not usually a problem until you are feeling vulnerable, because during those times conflict isn’t something that you’re particularly prepared to deal with gracefully.

Daily Self Kindness

I’m still playing catch-up and like the last couple of posts, I don’t remember what I might have done as self-kindness during this time, but I know that it was during my time off so I at least got some good rest.

❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Tarotgazing Deck, Garden Oracle, and The Hermes Playing Card Oracle

EarthNine of Vessels and Money – Manifest positive outcomes in reality by returning to your gratitude practice. It’s time to reconnect with many of your old practices, as was indicated in the Beltane reading you did for this year. Now is the time to remember that the things you want to develop into reality have to start through training your focus upon them in your mind and heart.

AirTen of Staves and Organization – Make sure you are using sound organizational techniques to keep yourself from becoming overburdened or overwhelmed. From past experience, you know how to strategize your time and efforts, and this week is a good time to start practicing these methods again in your life.

WaterHermit and Cool – Make sure you are evaluating your alone time with a cool and level gaze instead of an emotional one. Remember that for your alone time to be healthy, it needs to be more than just screwing around dawdling away the hours.

FireThe Tower and Gift – Shit happens, and that’s just how things go sometimes. Make sure that you are looking for the boon out of the bad. How are you going to benefit when the chaos clears? There’s always a gift somewhere buried in the ashes.

Waning Sun and Broom – Sweeping positivity under the rug instead of allowing it permeate into your life solves nothing and can create bigger problems.  Don’t ignore it just because it doesn’t come naturally to you to foster it’s growth, instead give it the attention that is needed to help it flourish.

WaxingDog and Star – Lean into your healthy friendships and allow them to foster the positivity that you struggle with instilling into your life on your own.

Take Away – There is a lot of encouragement here about rational thought and optimistic viewpoints.  It’s important to lean into that positivity and efforts towards optimism this week, and allow others to  help me in doing so.  It is also important to remember that what I focus on is what manifestation energies will begin to draw forward into my life… so focus on what is wanted, instead of what I don’t want.
