Tarot of the Gnomes 2002 Edition - Nine of CupsThe @GlitterbyInk #DecemberDays25 Beyond the Solstice Challenge
The Mystic Prompt for December 5
: Shadowy
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Nine of Cups (Drunkenness) card, which is traditionally a representation of themes that have to do with contentment, accomplishment, and satisfaction in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, creativity, and intuition.

For me? There’s always a shadow side to getting what you want. Not just the whole pessimistic “this is never going to last” side of things, although that is there too.  Also, though, the fact that I have to take care that I don’t enjoy the good so much that it ends up an addiction.

The reminder in today’s card and prompt combo is that these drawbacks to when good things happen doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy them.  Yes, I have to take my joy and pleasure in moderation, but that doesn’t mean forsaking it entirely.  Everyone needs a bit of positive experiences, satisfaction, and joy in their lives.  Everyone needs those moments where they can just exhale and say “this is good”.

Just because these moments are fleetingly temporary doesn’t mean we should reject them entirely. Instead, use the fact that they’re temporary as a reminder of just how special they truly are.

@aplacetodock #Yuletide Oracle Challenge
Prompts for December 5th, 6th and 8th

Tarot Reading with the Winter Cat Wonderland Tarot and Petit Lenormand NoeldineWhat to prepare now for Christmas morning?

Lily, Seven of Swords, Mountain – Step to it! Get your hands on any gifts left to be ordered or obtained. Move quickly on these so that there’s time for obstacles when it comes to delivery or other struggles in getting them in your hands. This will ensure that everybody is happy, and you are satisfied with how things go when Christmas morning arrives.

A new Christmas tradition for 2025?

Snake, Ace of Wands, Birds – Instill a new vigilance in monitoring conversations, and ensuring that topics that will create discord don’t get raised or delved into. With the international gathering that’s coming together this year, you want to make sure that things like politics stay out of the discussion so that no one feels alienated or resentful at the end of the night.

What holiday festivity brings me great joy?

Book, Nine of Swords Rx, Garden – You get great joy from being allowed to let your worries go for a while in order to just enjoy the company of others and the stories they have to share.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Acorns for Protection during New Beginnings
Wood burned Chickadee Disk for Adaptability through Change
Foraged Oak Branch with Moss and Lichen for Perseverance
Gneiss Stone for Patience in Moments of Discomfort

Tarot Reading with the Tarot of the Gnomes 2002 Edition@LightningWildflower December Arcana Challenge
Prompts for December 5th and 6th

The High Priestess: What is a truth I’m sensing but haven’t yet spoken out loud?

Ace of Wands Rx and Five of Pentacles – It doesn’t matter how much you work, how passionately you put yourself into your work, or how motivated you are to rake in more resources. It’s never going to be enough.

The Empress: What wisdom can be found in the natural cycles around me?

Ten of Cups Rx and The Moon – (continued from above) This is because you are prevented from ever finding true satisfaction and stability due to your anxieties and fears. Uncertainty plagues you not because you don’t have enough, but because you always feel like there’s not enough. This cycle repeats again and again, like a squirrel hoarding nuts he’ll never eat.

Take Away: Until you can get past the lessons from your childhood and past that tell you that you are not enough, nothing you do will ever be enough, no matter how much you do or accomplish.

Other elements included in this reading:
Deodar Cedar Ceramic Impression for Clarity and Spiritual Connection
Japanese Cherry Leaf as a Reminder of Life’s Fleeting Moments
Conch Shell Knot for Concentration and Clarity
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

Daily Self Kindness

This is a catch up post, and I’m not entirely sure what the self kindness was for this day.

Little Seeds… and Time

#dailycalm with the Calm app - Bertrand Russell quoteToday’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was one of the #DailyCalm sessions from the Calm app. I can’t quite remember what the whole meditation session was about, because I was spending a good deal of it spacing in my own way instead.

That said, I do remember something about always questioning and being open to other’s insights and interests.  It was most likely about keeping an open mind, and I’m sure I’ll end up returning to it to listen to it again at some point as a refresher, since I clearly wasn’t paying attention the first time around.

Cozy Cards for Sad and Anxious Moments and Tarot of the Gnomes Temperance cardToday’s draw is the Temperance card combined with the affirmation “The tiny seed you plant today will bring you joy over time.”

The key part of today’s affirmation is the “over time” part.  That brings the meaning of these cards very much in the realm of “patience is a virtue”.

These cards advise us to plant good things.  Seeds of good things like good thoughts, optimistic moments, little joys, etc.  Plant them and let them flourish into your life a little at a time to brighten your days moving forward.  Little things are better than big… and taking one’s time is always better than pushing too hard and overburdening yourself.

Questions for February 8th, 21st, and 26th

Tarot of the Gnomes - Death, Ace of Cups, Nine of Pentacles, The Sun, JudgementThese desires lie dormant in my heart.

Death and Ace of Cups – You wish to feel better about yourself and the world around you. As hard as you work to change your perspectives, real progress and permanent change seem like they continue to elude you again and again.

I am strong in my vulnerability in this way.

The Sun atop Judgement – During times of vulnerability you always return to center, reconnecting with what you really want out of life, and what you consider to be “successful”.

This ensures that you are on your feet if something unexpected happens.

Nine of Pentacles – You gain stability and better balance through your past successes and experiences. By looking back on those things that you have successfully worked through in the past, and how well you have moved on from them, it helps pave the way to an easier road forward when things go awry.
