Month End Tarot Reading Check-In with the Tarot Noir

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

Trois de Denier – You are part of a team. In these moments left before the holiday rush arrives, you are building stability through your connections with others, and inviting their skills and abilities to the table on your behalf.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

Valet d’Epée – Release those things that are not yet manifested. There is a lot you’ve been considering working on or thinking about bringing into reality. Now is the time to set those ideas aside until later, after the holiday rush has passed.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

Sept de Coupe – You want options. There is a freedom in being flushed with opportunities and having an abundance of choices at your disposal. Being backed into a corner sucks. The more options that you have, the better chance you have of coming out on top.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

Six de Coupe – Do not allow nostalgia of good times to blind you to the dangers in the present. Shared history does not always equate to loyalty or steadfastness, regardless of how you feel that it should.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

Dix de Bâton – Over the past few years you have learned how to identify when you are feeling overwhelmed, and how to ask for help when you need it. These lessons now allow you the tools needed to deal with overwhelm and head off burnout before it can take hold.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

Trois d’Epée – There are always going to be disappointments in life. The key is to remember how you have risen above them in the past and can do so again. There is no avoiding heartbreak completely, so don’t even try. Instead, focus on recovery and healing after the dust has settled.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

Six de Denier – It can be hard sometimes to accept the generosity of others, but make sure that you are paying attention to when they offer. Saying yes is difficult, but it is often the healthiest option.

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

Deux de Coupe Rx – There is still time to circumvent that betrayal by someone you trust that is resting on the horizon, and has been predicted in the cards often over the past month. You are asking the wrong questions… or rather, it’s the fact that you are not asking any at all.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

Neuf de Bâton – Your fear of change is unfounded, and you have an opportunity to move past it with grace if you are willing to release your need to “brace for impact”. Don’t worry so much about the “what if” scenarios.

Message from the Spirit World – The one you have been warned about is going to try to use your time of overwhelmed during the holiday rush to slip past your defenses.

Message from the Mind’s World – You’re a novice when it comes to asking for help and communicating your needs. Remember that diversifying is better than doing it all yourself or only using the minimum amount of help that you can get by with.

Message from the Physical World – Leaning to deeply into the past and how things used to be will create disappointment. Instead, keep your options open and be kind to yourself when you fuck up.

Take Away – There is potential for the person that you’ve been warned about for the past month to come to head over the holiday season. Keep an eye out for those that are trying to find a way in while you were at your most distracted.

Make sure that you are leaning into innovation in your business, instead of allowing yourself to just fall back into what has worked in the past. Make sure, as well, that you are asking for as much help as you can get instead of just as much as you think you need.

Roll with disappointments instead of letting them trip you up.

Lowering Expectations

Today’s meditation was skipped again cuz I overslept just a bit so I didn’t get on the road as early as I wanted to. I probably could have benefited from a bit of meditation tho before driving. I’ll remember that for next time.  That extra fifteen minutes in the house might be worth it if it helps my stress levels on the road.

Tarot Noir and Thera-Pets Emotional Support Animal CardsToday’s draw is the Five of Coins, which is traditionally a representation of financial disparity, scarcity issues, and other struggles, strife, trials, and tests in the area of one’s finances, resources, health, home, and manifestations.

The Thera-Pets card combined with the Five of Coins is all about doing what you can… and not pushing for more.  This is something that I had to learn financially last year, when the pandemic first hit and I lost all of my jobs except one.  I went from five part-time jobs and a thriving home business… to one part-time job and a home business that was doing well, but not growing as it had previously.  (Hard to grow a business selling pretty things when people don’t have money to buy pretty things, yeah?)

I had to make adjustments.  I had to lower my mortgage payment, and I had to lower my expectations of how long it would be before I could pay off my place.  I had to make spending adjustments, and shift the priorities concerning where money went, where I spent my money, and what got paid.

This was hugely stressful, and something that a lot of people went through when the pandemic hit. Unlike many people, I didn’t qualify for financial assistance.  I had to accept that… I’m not going to be able to do everything I wanted to do in the time table that I wanted to get it done in.   And that I could only do… what I can do.

Lowering expectations, especially expectations we place on ourselves is hard.  But no harder than the beating we give ourselves by keeping those expectations high and missing the mark.  So the message in today’s cards?  Make sure that your expectations that you set for yourself are realistic, then knock them back just a notch more, because they aren’t realistic and they aren’t reasonable, even if you think they are.

Creepy TarotAs above, so below, what will Samhain reap…

The closer you get to Samhain, the faster things are going to move, and the more control you’re going to be exerting (The Chariot) on making sure the things that you want to get done to be carried forward are getting done (Seven of Wands).

With a holiday rush right around the corner at this time, what we see here is a pick up in speed and the tenacity to plow through obstacles that might be in the way.

or sow?

Togetherness and teamwork with a jovial tone (Three of Cups) towards the goals we’ve set out as the three of us prepare and adjust for (Page of Wands) what will come in the days after Samhain.

Not more than a week after Samhain, the holiday rush will begin. As L, Z, and I slip in to the last minute preparation for the holiday rush, togetherness will be a key element in those preparations.

From today until Samhain, show me how it will begin.

Controlled chaos (King of Wands and Wheel of Fortune), and confidence (The Magician).

Over the month, these are the elements in life that will begin to pick up speed and strength. As more energy is poured into them, they will grow in strength and purpose.

Questions for October 1st and 2nd

Tarot NoirWhat is my relationship with my ancestors / ancestry at this time?

Nine of Coins atop Seven of Coins – You haven’t been given any real opportunity to explore your ancestry and ancestors. You’ve not really found this to be a hardship thus far, although there have been times your curiosity has been piqued.

That said, you have a good deal of skill in divination techniques that you’ve developed over a long period of time. Although there are many different avenues of exploration available, you’re happy to contact your ancestors through divination work, and be content with this method.

How can I improve my relationship with my ancestors?

Nine of Wands atop Le Diable – Use your addiction to your advantage in this area, but make sure that you’re setting up good boundaries in order to protect yourself and what you hold dear.

This is an encouragement to keep going with your efforts to contact and communicate with your ancestors through divination, and most specifically, the cards. But they are also a reminder that you need to make sure you have protections in place while doing so.

Daily Self Kindness

I gave myself credit for doing a good job on my paperwork perfectly today when I went over the border and came back. Some of the paperwork is quite complicated and can be hard to get right, but I nailed it on the first try!

Adding Flavor

Today’s meditation was skipped.  Not intentionally, but apparently I fell asleep within the first minute or two and took an impromptu nap.  So…. no meditation today, just a bit of extra sleep.

Heaven & Earth Tarot - Four of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Four of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of stability and making grounded decisions pertaining to one’s health, home life, finances, resources, or manifestations.  It can also be an indication of being miserly or valuing money or resources above all else.

What stands out to me the strongest in this card today is the representation of the four elements within the square/circle of the four pentacles in the imagery.  The character in the card embraces one of those pentacles, and beneath it is the symbol for the element of fire indicating that the coin/pentacle he holds and all that it represents that is his greatest passion.  That doesn’t change that the other four symbols are present, with earth resting to the man’s left, air at the man’s feet, and water to the man’s right.

The message I see in this card today is about where your passions lie, and how no matter where that is?  Everything around you and everything you are in some way feeds into your greatest passions, rotates around those interests, and becomes a part of those things that hold your focus and drive you forward.

I have many passions, some stronger than others, and some far more long in the tooth than others.  These passions permeate my life, and it’s important to be aware of this and how it might skew perceptions and opinions.

It is one more thing in so much that makes each and every person’s perspectives unique and no matter how hard you try to keep those passions to yourself for one reason or another, they will leak out into the rest of your life in small and subtle ways.  Today it is important to acknowledge this and take pleasure in knowing that these things are a part of who you are and a part of what makes you unique.

Question
: What energy is available to support me this month?

Paracelsus' Dreams Tarot

Page of Coins atop Five of Coins – When you are feeling discouraged and plagued by doubts and fears related to scarcity issues, remember that you are more than capable of learning a new way of do things and adapting each new situation that comes along. Don’t be afraid to dive into being the student to find a new path forward if the one you’re on has too many potholes.

Seven of Cups atop Nine of Coins Rx – Here there is a reiteration of what is said above.  Again we see feelings of uncertainty around finance and resources and the stability you cherish so much.  Life requires money, but be sure to remember that the ways in which to handle your money and make it work for you (as opposed to the other way around) are endless.  Look over your options during these times of struggle and uncertainty, and seek out the opportunities that will fit your situation best.

Knight of Swords – You are strong, intelligent, and ambitious.  Sometimes, that ambition can sneak out in impulsiveness, but as long as you keep that impulsive nature under control, you a are more than capable of learning what you need to learn and going after what is needed to re-establish your sense of security.

Tarot NoirSomeone Important In Your Life That Has Had A Lot of Influence On You

Roy de Deniers – This is a man that has taught me what responsibility and stability looks like. He is the head of the home, the stability beneath his family’s feet, and the rock they depend on.

Their Negative Influence On You and Your Life

Quatre de Bâton – He taught me what uncertainty within a home looks like and how those within a home might pretend to show the world a stability and camaraderie that isn’t truly present beneath the surface. He taught me that alcoholism can eat away at what would otherwise be positive and strong.

Your Negative Influence on Them and Their Life

Valet d’Épée – I made him feel like he had much to learn when he wanted to feel that he already knew all there was to know. This created a sense of vulnerability for him that he struggled with, and still struggles with from time to time. I do not fit the mold of the prejudices that his experience thus far in life have created in him and this is uncomfortable for him, but he has learned (and is still learning) to adjust to the new perspective I provide him.

Their Positive Influence On You and Your Life

Huit de Deniers – This is a man that has taught me what responsibility and stability looks like, and the value that lies in honing one’s skills and having an expertise (or many) under your belt. He taught me the value of hard work is, and the benefits that hard work can bring.  He has also taught me many of the valuable life skills that I needed when I struck out on my own in life and help me to the present day.

Your Positive Influence On Them and Their Life

Neuf d’Épée – I gave (and give) him something to worry about.  This isn’t usually seen as a good thing, but in this man’s life, as he ages and his children go beyond adults and through middle-age, he finds himself feeling useless and un-needed.  I give him the security of knowing that he is still needed, because I am younger and he took me under his wing, I haven’t yet reached the age where he feels I no longer need his help.  Because he worries about me and feels that I still need what he has to offer, he pushes to be stronger and hold on a little longer.
