It’s all up to you… no one else

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Fox & Owl Tarot Mini Deck - The ChariotToday’s draw is the Chariot card, which is traditionally a representation of control in action, moving forward with determination and willpower, motivation, and the success that is bred through these themes.

The imagery in this card says to me that you choose where you go and you choose the speed you get there. At a crossroads it’s entirely up to you which direction you choose, and with a bicycle, so too is it up to you if you walk the bike or ride it, and what speed you choose to ride at.

The message in today’s card is about autonomy and will, and is a reminder that sometimes we all have to seize control and steer our own boat (or bike).

On a personal note, this card comes at a time when I need to be reminded to get on track with catching up on orders, as my vacation is now over and there’s a backlog to plow through.  It is telling me to strap on and get moving, put my determination to the task, and get things done in order to stay on my chosen path and not be lead astray.

Philosophical Question for March 1st
: Is generosity an inherent virtue, or is it learned behavior?

The Cantigee OracleReading Summary: Sometimes it’s a leap spurred by inner inspiration (A Charmed Leap), but usually it’s learned behavior (The Infinite Web) through experience (The Living Mountain).

Take Away: As seems to be the answer for a lot of different philosophical questions, the cards here indicate that there isn’t just one pat simple answer.

These cards indicate that sometimes, people feel inspired to be generous through their own hearts. This appears to be from people with truly beautiful souls and is a rarity.   Far more often, generosity is learned through the example of others and through our own life experiences.

Questions for March 1st

Fox & Owl Tarot Mini Deck - Page of Swords, Death, Three of Wands, High PriestessWhat am I guided to open myself up to, or explore this month?

Page of Swords and Death – Work on accepting that curiosity and the urge to explore and learn new things has a natural ebb and flow, just like everything else in life. Sometimes it’s on, and you’re ready to go, and other times you just need a bit of a break and to let it go.

How can this help me?

Three of Wands and The High Priestess – This can teach you that you can put things away and pick them back up later, instead of having to plow through to the end all at once. It will also allow you to turn your energy and attention in the direction of your intuition during down times, strengthening that bond with your intuition and how it communicates with you.

I had some play with Gideon while working on orders today.  It was a nice balance.  Tomorrow will be busy, but I needed a little more us time.

Valuing Other’s Opinions

Today’s meditation was skipped.

The Cats of Arx Tarot - Six of WandsToday’s draw is the Six of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of vitality, pride, self-confidence, public admiration or accolades,  and external support in the area of one’s passions, drive, willpower, and ambitions. It can also represent peer pressure, although I don’t see that represented here in this specific card’s imagery.

Look at that cat giving a wink and a bow. He knows he’s done good and has just a bit of boast in his swagger.

I love the bit of pride shown in this card.  It’s fun and flirtatious instead of stuffy or stiff.  The appearance of this card today is a reminder that its okay to take pride in the things you do well. Accept compliments with grace instead of brushing them off, for when you do so, other’s admiration continues to grow because you’re valuing their opinion instead of discarding it.

It was a pretty rough day, but instead of coming home and crashing out, I gave myself what I really needed, which was some time with Gid in which to unwind and catch my breath.

How can I accept freedom today?

Mice and Gentlemen – Don’t accept the influences of those that make you feel diminished. You have enough negative influences going on within you to deal with and combat… outside influences need to roll off your back like raindrops on a slicker instead of eating into you and creating wounds that refuse to heal.

How can I accept joy today?

Crossroads and Clock Tower – This is a choice that you have to make by yourself for yourself.  No one can make it for you, and no one can -do- it for you either.  It’s a gift that you can only give yourself, a choice only you can make.

How can I make the most of today?

Anchor and Child – Use grounding and your responsibilities to keep your less responsible impulses at bay today. You have a handful of things to make sure you get done today so don’t let yourself go wandering so far down the primrose path that you forget about them.

Ideas and Innovation

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Tarot Skrytych Svetu - Shadowscapes Tarot - Ace of SwordsToday’s draw is the Ace of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of the seed of new beginnings in the area of one’s intellect, education, ambitions, thoughts, and communication.

This often translates into themes that have to do with new ideas and interests, new contacts or ways to communicate with others, or new interests or educational pursuits.

The key aspect of this card that directs what I see in its message is that those that surround the blade are all swans and butterflies.  It’s not a menagerie, but rather an inner circle of winged friends.

The message in today’s card is a reminder to take time today to share your ideas with those around you that are a part of your inner circle. There’s a lot of things you can do to help those you care about, so don’t let moments of innovation remain silent and personal.  Share them with others instead.

I spent time with Gideon on his birthday today, and it felt really good.

Don’t Forget the Dog

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Pastoral Tarot - Six of SwordsToday’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of moving on, leaving behind difficulty for something better, and letting go.

Unlike the Eight of Cups, which has a similar theme but with an emotional aspect involved, in the Swords suit this theme is about strategy and logic. It’s about finding a better path for who you are and what you want, and leaving behind struggle and hardship in the process.

Here in this card we see a full family on their way, and their boat is empty of luggage.  They may not have taken goods or physical items with them, but they remembered what’s truly important.  They remembered the full family, including the dog.

Today’s card is a reminder that when looking to leave behind something that’s not working for you… don’t forget to take the love and loyalty along.  Everything else is expendable when it comes right down to it.

I took a 3 hour nap today. I didn’t mean to, but it happened and I’m trying my best not to feel negatively toward myself about it.

Loving Guidance

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Britt's Third Eye Tarot - King of CupsToday’s draw is the King of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, creativity, and intuition. This often translates into themes that have to do with strong leaders with understanding and emotionally supportive qualities.

What stands out to me the most in this card is the fact that the King of Cups holds a scale.  This isn’t the norm for the King of Cups, and yet it is fitting.

Gideon is my personal King of Cups, and he certainly assists me in staying in balance.  Not only that, but he seems to do it so smoothly and easily that it seems to weigh pretty much nothing at all.

Today’s card is a reminder that it’s okay to lean into those that help you in finding balance. It’s okay to need others and to let them in and let them help.  Everyone has different strengths, and it’s okay to appreciate and lean on those that have strengths that you do not.

Due to all the drama and crazy shit that’s gone on this week, I’ve extended my time off a few days to try and catch some of the rest that I just don’t feel like I’m getting.
