Getting a Move On

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Förhäxa TarotToday’s draw is the Eight of Fire (Wands), which is traditionally a representation of swifts action, alacrity, immediacy, and speed.

Sometimes you have to “move it or lose it”, and that’s what today’s card is all about. Not everything can be done at a sedate and slow pace. Flying, for example, as what is seen in the illustration of today’s card, requires lift provided by speed, whether it be the speed of the wind, the speed of the bird, or a combination of both.

In today’s card, we are invited to look in our lives for those things that are requiring our immediate attention. What needs started or done now? What can’t be put off? The Eight of Fire invites us to examine these things, but also to take action to deal with them as well.

Questions for September 16th and 17th

Dungeons & Dragons Tarot and Woven Wisdom OracleYour Addiction – Medusa – You have a habit of using your alone time in unhealthy ways. Although there is a true need for alone time in your general make-up, it’s not healthy to isolate yourself too much, no matter how tempting that may be.

How to Introduce Moderation – Izanagi & Izanami – Spend more time with those it feels good to be around. Even just allowing them to chill as a part of your life has a positive impact.

You – Page of Swords – You love to learn new things and explore. Imagination has no limits for you and your curiosity is boundless.

Your Annoyance – The Moon – Delays and uncertainty sometimes can get in the way of all you want to explore and pursue. These roadblocks often self inflicted and always frustrating.

What To Do About It – Seven of Coins atop The Chariot – Work on staying enthusiastic through the long haul. Just because you can learn new things (reflects back to the Page) quickly doesn’t always mean that you should. Sometimes it’s better to take your time.

Questions for September 11th, 13th, and 14th

Förhäxa TarotHow do I grow from my mistakes?

Eight of Earth – You grow from your mistakes by getting beat over the head by them again and again until you get it right. You’re stubborn, and sometimes that means it takes more than once to learn a better way. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just means you end up with more experiences than most.

When do I trust myself?

The Chariot atop Elder of Water – You trust yourself to guide other’s tempers back to grounded when normally emotionally balanced people tip over into the energy of being stubborn and unreasonable. (Taming Gideon’s inner Grumpus, for example.)

What can I do about the fear of being wrong?

Death – Being wrong is something universal; it happens to everyone eventually. Take these moments when you are wrong not as roadblocks, but as opportunities for change, transition, and/or transformation.

Spirit Guides Tarot Reading

Spirit Guides Tarot Reading with The Painted Tarot

Card to represent the Spirit Guide with me through this reading.

Seven of Pentacles – This spirit guide has been with you for a very long time, and has been working to guide you into a state of slow and healthy growth with diligence and care. They seek to help you not just survive, but thrive, and work hard to guide you in that direction.

Something this Guide is currently helping me with.

Justice atop Ten of Wands – Learning how to avoid burnout and it’s consequences by helping to guide you into making better choices on how you expend your energy.

What my Guide wants me to know at this time.

Ten of Cups – You can be happy without having everything that you want by sharing what you have with others, and enjoying their company and support in your life. Lean into those that you support, as they are eager to support you as well.

How can I help get myself to this place/goal?

The World – Stay true to your beliefs and the person you want to become, as you stay open to the changes and new journeys that lie ahead. You’ve turned over a new leaf in your life by trying to treat yourself better, and you need to stay the course.

What is holding me back from reaching my goals?

Queen of Wands – Sometimes you can become a little bit too focused on supporting other’s dreams, and in the process you forget to foster your own. Although it is important to you to support those that you care about, make sure that you’re not overdoing it and neglecting yourself as a result.

How can I motivate myself to be more productive with my lesson?

The Devil – Seek out the pleasure in the goal, as well as in the journey to reach it. Your addictive tendencies will take care of the rest.

A way that this lesson will show up in my life in the near future.

Queen of Coins – You will once again be confronted with a need to support others and be that stability in their lives, and will need to make a choice about how you go about doing this so that it will not cause you overwhelm and lead to burnout.

Don’t Be Shy

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Untamed Mystery Tarot Illusion EditionToday’s draw is the Page of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive omega energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, imagination, creativity, and intuition. This often translates into themes that have to do with exploring new creative endeavors, letting your imagination free to wander, and revisiting emotions and relationships for further exploration and consideration.

In this card, the brain in the cup corresponds to the pattern of markings on the top of the fish’s head as he winds around the cup’s stem and finds an eye peering out at him from the foliage.

Sometimes when we are so deep in our own pursuits we forget there are others around us… and sometimes we are far too aware. Today’s card is a reminder that we can’t know what others are thinking when they look at us. Don’t stifle your imagination and creativity just because you fear what others might think if they were to see you or are watching.

Broken Mirror Tarot Marseille Edition and Mission du Vie w/ ExpansionWhat do you believe to be true?

Temperance – You believe that moderation really can work for you if you let it. You struggle a lot with instilling moderation in your life. In your interests and hobbies, in your work. In your physical demands and pain management. In so many areas, you push too hard and too fast. But you know there is another way and believe in it… even if you struggle to implement it in your life.

What may be false?

The Tower – That every change is going to be a huge ordeal or a catastrophe. It might feel that way, but it’s not true.

Finding Balance Between the TwoLe Communicant / Semaine Prochaine – Don’t keep your struggles to yourself. Instead, be open with others. Remember as well that a bit of procrastination can be one way to implement moderation, as long as it’s done in a healthy way.

Do this solo.

Eight of Staves Rx – Slowing down can absolutely be a solo endeavor.

Join forces for this.

Four of Cups – Just make sure that if you start to feel a downward tug on your emotions, that you reach out to others to help lift you back up.

Finding Balance Between the TwoLe Rêveur / Retard Interne – Self awareness is an important step in knowing when you can handle alone time… and when you can’t. If you have your head in the clouds, you may miss the internal warning signs that it’s time for a change.

What do you see as half-full?

The Judgement – You feel optimistic in the fact that you are on your right path spiritually and in your development into a better person. You feel that each day is a step on this journey and positive progress towards self-betterment.

What do you see as half-empty?

Nine of Staves Rx – It is nearly impossible for you to feel safe. Even as you work to tear down boundaries in order to connect more with others, new walls form due to feelings of vulnerability.

Finding Balance Between the TwoÉvénements Imprévus / Défis / Juillet – Keep in mind that your defense mechanisms are in place due to past events that have happened to you. Your responses to these events and vulnerability that you feel because of them are not unreasonable. It doesn’t make you a bad person to be cautious.

: What is humanity’s biggest accomplishment?

Untamed Mystery Tarot Illusion EditionReading Summary: Nurturing strength (Queen of Pentacles) with the ability to listen with empathy (Page of Cups atop Queen of Cups Rx) and take what they hear to offer inspiration (Queen of Wands).

Take Away: In these cards, the biggest accomplishment of humanity is its growing and expanding respect for women, their strengths and their power that lives not in brute force or avid aggression, but in  how they relate to others and bend the world to their will in the way that the wind can cause trees to bend without breaking.

A Cushioned Landing

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Cirque du Tarot - The FoolToday’s draw is the Fool card, which is traditionally a representation of innocence, enthusiasm, newness and fresh starts, carefree outlooks, and spontaneity.

People often associate the Fool with being “foolish”, but sometimes it’s not about being foolish at all, but about seeing things from a new and fresh perspective and diving in to that perspective wholeheartedly.

Just as alcohol cushions a drunkard from injury in a fall, so too can optimistic enthusiasm cushion “The Fool” when he leaps before he looks.

Where in your life could use a bit more optimistic enthusiasm?  Where do you need to look up and not listen to the naysayers, but instead try anyway… just to see what happens? In what endeavor could that optimistic enthusiasm cushion your own stumbles and falls?  Today’s card is a reminder that sometimes when you pour on a bit of optimistic enthusiasm you can carry that sentiment right on past the failures and roadblocks, breezing by them without a care in the world.

Cirque du Tarot - The Fool, The Hierophant, Wheel of Fortune, The Empress, Eight of WandsWhat have I been putting off that could be good for me?

Wheel of Fortune – Confronting the unpredictability in your life and doing what you can to mitigate predictable problems that arise as things change and cycles shift. In other words, you need to start working on your holiday prep.

What is taking up my subconscious mind at the moment?

Eight of Wands – You are feeling rushed and spinning your wheels at the same time. Keep in mind that this can quickly lead to overwhelm if you’re not careful.

How is this affecting me?

The Empress Rx – You are so wrapped up in that discomfort that comes with spinning your wheels and not getting anywhere while pushing for progress, that you aren’t taking the time to take care of yourself as you should.

What {part of me} am I guided to lovingly heal or nurture?

The Fool – Your inner child and your ability to see the world through an innocent’s eyes needs a little TLC.

Where should I start?

The Hierophant – Tried and true methods that you know will work through not just your own explorations, but the practices of generations that came before you. Things like meditation, healthy eating, exercise, etc.

Change and Intent

Light in the Mist Tarot - The Death CardToday’s draw is the Death card, which is traditionally a representation of organic transformations and gradual change.

The depiction of an altar in today’s card speaks to me of empowerment in the face of change. It says that we have the ability to steer or own path. This doesn’t mean avoiding change or halting it, but rather seizing it as an opportunity.  Spellwork, after all, is about intent.

The message in today’s card is to take care that you don’t fight so hard against change that you lose the opportunity to choose where you go from here.

Questions for September 11th thru 15th – TO HARVEST

Light in the Mist Tarot - Knight of Pentacles, Death, Three of Pentacles, Eight of Swords, JudgementWhat should I be reaping in my life?

Knight of Pentacles – You have the opportunity to rake in a greater sense of stability and security if you are patient enough to take things one step at a time and not rush the process.

What blessings should I be thankful for?

Death – Be thankful that not all changes in life come in hot and heavy and full of chaos. Some of them come in slow and give you time to adjust a little at a time.

What have I grown this year?

Three of Pentacles – Greater strength and support through community connections, rather than solitary effort. Collaborations with others that have developed into greater things through those connections made than what could be accomplished alone.

What is my biggest accomplishment?

Eight of Swords – Recognition that your perspective is not the only perspective, and opening you eyes to see far more than you would otherwise. By having removed the blindfold, you are able to see more through multiple perspectives rather than just your own. You are still taken by surprise sometimes by others perspectives, but you have spent your life learning how to be open to them and see their value… even when there are times you don’t agree.

What should I be preparing for next?

Judgement – Get in touch with your moral compass and make sure that you are on the same page. There are some judgment calls that you’re going to have to be making soon that could change the course of your path. In making sure that you are in close contact with your moral compass and listening closely to what it has to say, you’ll be in a better place to make these decisions wisely.

The Responsibility of Authority

Today’s meditation was skipped, although I did spend a good deal of time just resting on the bed earlier today and dawdling on my phone. It doesn’t have the same affects as actually doing the meditation, but it is a bit of extra self kindness I gave myself today.

Wisdom's Chariot Tarot - The EmperorToday’s draw is the Emperor card, which is traditionally a representation of authority, control, structure, and focusing on the greater good.

What stands out to me the strongest today in the imagery of this card is the skeleton that stands behind the king and turns his head toward those of wealth who complain loudly for more, instead of allowing him to see the desperate souls on the other side of his dais that beg on their knees for his help.

A lot of how we deal with and/or handle authority comes from our past and what we were taught as the proper way to treat others when we are in this type of a position. This card is a reminder that when you are in an authority position, it’s important to see the whole picture so that you are doing what is right for the greater good, rather than just those who shout the loudest.  Don’t allow “this is how it’s always been done” lead you astray from what is right and just.

Ship of Fools Tarot and Guidance of the Goddess OracleWhat’s happening quickly?

The Moon – Uncertainty is creeping in and making things feel more bleak and worrisome than they actually are. You are supposed to be savoring this annual moment of lull in your work, not allowing it to tweak you out.

What is taking its sweet time?

Eight of Swords – Revelations and enlightenment. You’re spending so much time freaking out about something that you know isn’t permanent or detrimental that you are blinding yourself to what else you could be doing with your time.

Finding Balance Between the Two – Instead of focusing on wanting things to stay the same and the discomfort that comes with change, you need to make sure you are focusing on being adaptable to changes (Atabey) and looking at what you can do to help yourself (Chang’e) through these times.

What is seen?

Ace of Coins – Opportunities approach, just as they do each year as this time of slowness in your business draws to a close. You’ve only to pay attention in order to take advantage of the opportunities awaiting you.

What is unseen?

Two of Staves – There’s lots of preparations that need to be made in order to make the best of the opportunities that are coming. Nobody sees these preparations but you, but they are important and you need to focus on them so that you are ready.

Finding Balance Between the Two – Not all of the preparation that need to be done are of the physical variety or directly related to your business (Oshun). Make sure that you are tending to your protections, and doing the other spiritual and self-care practices needed to shore up your strength for what lies ahead (Selene).

Wisdom's Chariot Tarot - The Hanged Man, Knight of Swords, The Moon, Three of Pentacles, Seven of Pentacles, The WorldWolf – How can I encourage my strength and bravery for hurdles yet to come?

The Hanged Man – Make sure that you are paying attention to others perspectives, and not just your own or the perspectives of a select few. By seeing “the big picture” you are better able to prepare for the future and whatever my show up on the horizon.

Owl – How can I learn to better trust my perception of the world and other people?

Knight of Swords – Take care to not jump the gun and be impulsive. Getting to know people takes time. Give yourself that needed time to really delve into what they’re about and who they really are.

Stag – Where in my life can greater dignity create a stronger sense of integrity?

The Moon – Do not allow times of uncertainty to pull you from your moral compass, principles, and values. When these times of uncertainty come, don’t duck your head, but tilt your chin up instead.

Eagle – Why does good and successful leadership also require a modicum of grace?

Three of Pentacles Rx – Without that grace, there is no community and no collaboration.

Salmon – In what direction have I been moving by instinct without realizing it?

Seven of Pentacles – You are getting to a point where you understand the value of taking your time and using patience rather than pushing yourself and rushing. When you first started this journey, you struggled to see the value in taking things slow, but as time goes on you are moving more naturally into this concept.

Wild Goose – How have my past relationships and friendships taught me to be a better person?

The World – These past friendships and relationships have allowed you to see who you want to become, as well as what you don’t want to become. This has in turn helped you to define your path, who you are, and who you want to be more clearly.
