Prompt : “The purpose of this activity is to practice interpreting small spreads by combining card meanings, symbols and intuition. We will all interpret the same cards based on a few different (imaginary) situations. A 3 card spread will be posted together with 2 more specific scenarios. It’s your choice which scenario you’d prefer to use, or if you’d rather do a general reading of these cards as for an imaginary querent.”
Scenario 1 – Kayla is worried about her upcoming month-long trip abroad. There’s a niggling feeling that something’s going to go wrong, but she can’t figure out if it’s just anxiety or if there’s something to it.
The cards here offer advice for your trip. Take care when things challenge your sense of right and wrong (Page of Swords and Justice). There will be some ups and downs (Wheel of Fortune) on this trip, and you need to stay true to what you feel is right instead of trying to get around any obstacles through unethical or sneaky means. Doing so will only create an opportunity for backlash.
It’s nothing you can’t get through, but it’s important to consider -how- you do so. Even if that means going back to the drawing board mid-journey.
Scenario 2 – Oni has been feeling directionless in their life over the last few months, not sure where to look for that “spark” to keep them going. With Spring arriving, they feel ready to approach this again with new energy but they want help to get going.
It’s easy to fall into a bit of a slump during the winter season. In the cycles of the seasons (Wheel of Fortune), that is often the time where we spend a bit more time at rest or even hibernating from the world.
As Spring approaches, make sure that you are leaning into something new. Don’t slip into old habits and cycles, but instead find something that creates a spark of inspiration, then start pulling at threads in that area as you dive into the rabbit hole (Page of Swords). The more you put into this pursuit, the more you’ll get out of it (Justice).
Scenario 3 – A general reading (feel free to add your own flair or a backstory).
You’re spending too much time focused on the past. What has you so distracted that instead of looking forward, you keep looking back? (Page of Swords and Justice both facing to the left.)
Seek out where a sense of imbalance (Wheel of Fortune) is holding you back from forward movement (Justice). Allow yourself to accept and deal with this issue instead of ignoring it, and you will be rewarded with a greater sense of understanding (Page of Swords).
