The Ark Animal Tarot - The Hierophant card@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 22nd : Something I’m Looking Forward To | #FMS_LOOKINGAHEAD25

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is The Hierophant card, which is traditionally a representation of traditions, spiritual guidance, long standing institutions, teachers and guides, and themes that deal with conformity and social norms.

Recently, I discovered a metaphysical shop that is unlike any other I’ve ever visited. The shop was neat and tidy, but cluttered. Impeccably clean and carefully curated, yet without even a hint of “tourist” pandering. The shop owner was knowledgeable and friendly, without being intrusive or pushy. The cat was friendly too.

The owner had built something rich with meaning in a world of commerce, and the care and spiritual roots showed through in every shelf, nook, and cranny. When I spoke with her, it was clear that she was not only knowledgeable, but had researched and explored in depth each item in her shop as well as their sources, and even been in communication with a number of the authors and creators on display. She even sources some of the herbs in her shop from her own garden.

As you might’ve already caught on to, I have a massive amount of respect for this woman and the blend of spirituality and business she has created.

I am absolutely looking forward to visiting the shop and its owner (and the cat!) again in the future.

Today’s message is a reminder that those that teach us “how things work” can be found in the most unexpected places. Sometimes when we step through a doorway, we get exactly what or who we expect. Other times, we are taken by surprise by a little slice of heaven or the gift of a knowledgeable guide to help us when we need it. Be open to the possibility of the latter, as it can happen at the most unexpected moments.

Prompt for August 22nd : What do you need to focus on for self-care for this month’s new moon?

Nakshatra Oracle ReadingReading Summary: In order to foster harmony and balance (Libra) within the current chaos (Ketu) of what’s going on with your business (Rohini), you need to stay on top of things and pay attention. Be willing to not just do the work, but adapt as needed in order to allow things to reach their full potential (Hasta).

Take Away: Encourage tranquility in your life, not just through the mindfulness techniques and tools at your disposal, but also by making sure that you don’t “check out” concerning the issues and stressors going on right now with your business. You need to stay engaged and pay attention to what’s going on, so that you can respond and adapt quickly and smoothly to the changes taking place.

Roll : 12  Prompt : What do I need to let go of now?

The Ark Animal Oracle ReadingReading Summary: Clever planning (Sugar Glider), bold action (Moose), and dogged determination for things to stay the same (Dog).

Take Away: Things are changing, and you have to accept that you are not in control. No matter how much you want to be. No amount of “tinkering”, or just jumping in and going for it, is going to make things better right now. Neither is ignoring the problem and trying to make everything stay the same. Let go of your need to be in control and resist change. This tendency is not going to help you in the current situation.

Pre-Raphaelite Tarot's King of Wands and the Sinister Affirmations: Mantras for Formidable Women Cards@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 21st : Feels Like Home | #FMS_FEELSHOME25

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the King of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions, drive, determination, principles, values, and willpower. The King of Wands often indicates themes that have to do with leadership figures or authority figures with the ability to rally others to their causes and draw them in to their own values, principles, and passions.

When you build upon your passions and personal values, life becomes your home.

The King of Wands is all about personal values, passionate endeavors, and using both to create a stable foundation to lead from. He is the epitome of the phrase “the world is your oyster”. Not that the journey he’s on is new, but that he has made it uniquely his and special. His perfect fit.

Today’s message asks us where are we sacrificing our sense of comfort and belonging in the world by not following our dreams and our inner compass? How can we turn this around so that it’s not just where we rest our head that feels like “home”, but our lives as a whole?

Seven of Wands – Courage Prompts for August 20th thru 22nd

Tarot Reading with the Tarot de Besançon Gaudais Anima Antiqua and Enchanted Blossoms Empowerment OracleWhere am I guided to stay rooted in my truth and unshakable in my presence?

Valet de Coupe and Orchid/Yellow Tiger Swallowtail – It’s difficult to teach our brains to reject negative narratives. As Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman, “The bad stuff is easier to believe.”

Remember to touch base with the beauty in the world around you. In doing so it can help teach your emotions to follow suit and more easily accept the beautiful things that reside within you as well.

How can I protect or honor what matters to me right now?

Juno (La Popess) and Sedum/Apollo – Keeping your reading space clean and tidy will help in allowing your intuition and spiritual practices to flourish. Seek out and get rid of those things that have no use and are simply creating clutter. Tranquility without helps to promote tranquility within, and it’s in that tranquil place where your inner ken can flourish.

Where am I invited to stand firm in faith and act with courage, even when the path ahead is unclear?

Reine de Coupe and Honeysuckle/White Admiral – You are only able to give to others if you have something to give. Make sure that you are taking care of yourself and treating yourself well, visiting the things that make you joyous in your day-to-day life, and providing yourself the self-care you need.

Only when you give yourself these things are you able to also generously give to others of yourself. Remember that When you are lacking in what you need and not taking care of yourself, helping others becomes not an act of generosity, but a chore of obligation.

Linestrider Tarot - Three of Wands and The Tapping Solution's Daily Guidance Cards@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 20th : Symmetry | #FMS_SYMMETRY25
Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Three of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of the first active step in a journey, progress towards a goal, and the seizing of opportunities.

You know how sometimes when you embark on a project things quickly disintegrate into a clusterfuck, and other times things just smoothly fall into place? I used to think that enough planning and prep could make any endeavor as smooth and seamless as the latter scenarios.

It turns out though? That’s not true. Sometimes no amount of planning or prep can change that something’s not meant to be. Sometimes things fall apart because it’s just not meant for you, and other times the timing is off, so it’s not meant for you at the moment.

What I found is that when things go smoothly and “fall into place”? It’s a dance in symmetry between our own determination, the right timing, and the endeavor being aligned with where we are on our path. This symmetry creates that smooth “flow” that allows everything to move together into position.

Today’s card is a reminder that when things don’t go well or fall apart, there’s more play than our own performance. Don’t put the full weight of blame on yourself or beat yourself up. Consider, instead, that there might be something better or more suited for you just on the horizon, and if you’d succeeded in this current endeavor, you might have ended up missing out on that better future thing that’s coming.

@empressofthenightslight Roll the Tarot August Challenge
Roll : 1  Prompt : Three cards for my current losses.

Higher Self Oracle ReadingFreedom – There are so many responsibilities currently on your plate that it makes it impossible to feel like you have any freedom of your own. Any small amount of free time that you’re able to scrape away for yourself ends up overtaken by thoughts of what needs to be done next, and guilt that you’re not doing it.

Go With the Flow – With anxiety over the current situation in the business rising right now, it’s extremely hard to wait, even when that’s exactly what you need to do. You can’t do anything until you have more information, and once you have information you’ll be able to act accordingly and go with the flow. Until then, these moments of stagnancy are a struggle for you.

Take the First Step – As mentioned above, at this moment, movement is restricted, and there is very little that you can do about it. This makes taking even the first step impossible at the moment, and you’re struggling under the restraint this causes for you.

Sambucus RWS Tarot - Ace of Cups@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 19th : On the Wall | #FMS_ONTHEWALL25

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Ace of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of the seed of new beginnings in the area of one’s emotions, relationships, creativity, and intuition.

As a child, my father said some horrible things to me in the effort to mould me into his expectations. Nothing hurt and triggered me worse, though, than  being called lazy or stupid.

When he used these words to break me, it cut deep and I would feel as if there were actual bleeding wounds inside of me. I learned early to hide this from him, but in order to purge myself of the intensity of pain I was feeling, I would take a dry erase marker to the mirror in the privacy of the bathroom. There, I would write on the mirror “I’m not stupid “or “I’m not lazy” again and again until the intensity of the pain eased. (I would then, of course, erase the evidence before leaving the bathroom.)

Somewhere along the line as I grew a bit older, I lost the ability to connect with my emotions, and this practice stopped.

In the present, I am learning to reconnect with my emotions, and it’s often confusing and intense. Today’s FatMumSlim prompt and card combo inspired me to wonder if writing is the answer to making sense of them, in the same way that it was the answer to comforting myself as a child.

I might have to try it out and see, even if all I’m writing at the time is “I am not _____” or “I am _____”.

Today’s message is a reminder that emotions, especially new ones, are often intense and confusing. That doesn’t mean we should tuck them away and ignore them, but rather that we need to let them flow and explore them with the tools at our disposal that will help us deal with them in healthy ways.

Knight of Wands – Drive Bonus Prompts for August

Shaman's Way Oracle ReadingWhere is my passion leading me right now?

Transmutation – You’ve recently discovered how acts of grounding can positively impact your anxiety and emotions. Simply by writing down a possible plan of action instead of allowing it to create a cacophony in your head as you try to remember it all created an entirely new outlook and attitude. This can work for other things as well. It’s just a matter of finding the tools available to you and figuring out which ones work for the situation at hand.

What bold action is mine to take today?

Walk Your Path – If something doesn’t work for you? Say so. Buck the system in preference for your own path. Remember that just because expectations are there doesn’t mean it’s your job to fulfill them.

How can I fully commit to the thrill of the pursuit?

Separation – Let go of your ego, self-judgments, and fears. There’s no place for insecurities here, so step into new pursuits with confidence.

Pythia Tarot - King of Pentacles, Zeus and The Tapping Solution's Daily Guidance Cards@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 18th : Something Green | #FMS_GREEN25

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the King of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s financial security, resources, health, home, labors, manifestations, and other elements of the physical realm. This often translates into leadership that creates a grounded sense of stability for others.

You know that phrase “all the glitters is not gold”? Well, it’s true as well that all that’s good is not green. It can be really hard not to focus on monetary gain as the king of all values and needs. After all money does in fact buy a lot of things that you need in life these days.

The thing is, though, that it really isn’t the only thing of value in life, nor the only thing that you should be chasing after. It is not the root of happiness, and in fact can cause a lot of problems. Is life easier with it, well yes, it is. But not at the sacrifice of things like happiness, mindfulness, family, and friends, etc.

Today’s message is a reminder that money is not the end all be all of everything. It’s a tool. Don’t let it take up so much of your focus that you lose track of the true value of the other things (and people) in your life that matter more.

Five of Wands – Challenge Prompts for August 14th thru 16th

What challenge could have a good effect on my journey?

The Hanged Man and The Forest – Taking a pause in September is a good idea. You need time to settle into a new perspective, not just to sort out what’s happening. Sometimes changes can cause the chaos to get overwhelming. The pause you have planned will allow you time to reorient yourself and allow peace to find its footing within you.

What different perspective can I use to support my growth?

Wheel of Fortune and Floating Clouds – Remember that you are only seeing a small fraction of the big picture. To see what lies beneath requires destabilization, just as you can see the bottom of an iceberg only if it’s flipped over.

What emerges when I navigate current challenges with grace?

Page of Swords and Dreams Fly – You will be given the opportunity to reach for success once more after the period of rest is over. It will begin with a new learning process and time of adjustment.

Pandora – Curiosity is a good thing, and don’t let the naysayers tell you otherwise. Experiment and explore to your heart’s content. Let those niggles of curiosity guide you, even when it seems they might be guiding you “off track “.

What part of my journey shines as a testament to my dedication and personal growth?

Hera – How you show others how much you value their presence in your life. You may seem standoffish to many, but those that know you well see the care you take of them and the sacrifices you make to ensure they flourish.

How can I celebrate my progress or my successes, while boldly embracing what’s next?

Gilded Tarot Royale - Four of Wands@FatMumSlim August #FMSPAD Challenge
Prompt for August 17th : Looking Up | #FMS_LOOKINGUP25

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Four of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of one’s passionate love for the security and welcoming energies of home. This often translates into themes that have to do with homecoming, celebrating home and stability, as well as relaxation in comfortable spaces.

Home is a wonderful place, but you can’t see the sky from there. Or… I can’t, at any rate.

Yes, there is an almost magical comfort and safety in having four walls and a roof over your head, but no amount of that magic can take the place of outside time.

There’s a reason that in Japan psychologist prescribe walks in nature. Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) has proven psychological benefits in humans… and physical benefits as well.

Today’s messages is a reminder to take advantage of those benefits, whether it’s spending time in a park or community garden, hiking in the woods, gardening on a balcony, or just sitting down or going barefoot in the grass for a few. Take the time to step outside of your four walls, not for some errand or task, but just for you.

: Do Spread 3 – Emotional Aspects

Oracle Reading with the Witch's Grimoire Oracle Trilogy

Seeds Sown – What seeds for my emotional health & growth planted in the Spring have flourished and grown strong?

Ivy, Tigers Eye, Jellyfish – You have quickly begun picking up the confidence needed to not flee from or bury your feelings, but instead connect with and explore them. This has shown itself lately in your confrontation of your fears, and finding ways to help yourself stay present in them instead of burying them or getting lost in them. (Ie: acknowledging your fears and writing down an action plan and optional plan B, picking up another part time job, etc.) You are not burying your head in the sand or trying to keep your head down, but actively engaging with your emotions.

The Chaff – What seeds have not flourished and need to be let go to encourage healthy growth in other areas?

Willow, Bloodstone, Coyote – You can only take on so many challenges at once, and at least for now advancing in your mediumship has to take the back burner for a time. Sometimes life’s chaos gets in the way of the best of intentions. Don’t worry, it’s not going to just up and disappear. It’ll be there when you once again feel ready to work on advancing with it some more.

The Harvest – How can I best prepare now to reap the benefits of a positive and healthy harvest in the Fall?

Jasmine, Sodalite, Lizard – Make sure you are communicating with others, keeping up on your meditation and mindfulness practices, and getting out in nature when you have the chance. These activities all help in keeping you open and ready to receive the good things the harvest season is preparing to bestow upon you.
