Tufts of white turn pink and blue as evening dips into a whisper of darkness to come looking like a celebration as sunset dips toward dusk and the day is left behind
Sitting still I watch as the world moves moves one step at a time toward something breathlessly reckless and I wonder where the quiet went and if it will come back ever again
Fissures form
not from pressure
on the outside
but from within
as the stress
of too much
begins to cause
hidden bits
to swell
and spill over
and pieces
are lost
in the process
