Gideon’s Challenge

IMG_1288The Spill

Here
There
and everhwyere
moving at
the speed of light
while in a dizzying
hamster wheel
a splatter
a spash
lets not
get in a crash.

Too many hours without sleep… too many miles to drive.  Even after I finally made it home, I still felt like a crazy mess splattered all over the wall.  Sleep is not overrated… ever.

Silky soft
and welcoming
slippery and cool
it sits
ready and waiting
to welcome me in
with open arms
and softness.
Nuzzle in…
bliss awaits.

I miss my pillow.  With the subdrop and lack of sleep, I really don’t want to pull an all-nighter tonight, but there’s no other way to get everything done in time to ship orders out tomorrow.  I’ve felt like I’m moving at a snails pace all day long, and all I really want is my beautiful satin encased pillow to welcome me in.

IMG_6347Tangled

Sharp
jagged teeth
and a stinging bite
Lots of knots
snarled green
don’t get too close
or you’ll pay the price
watch your step
I’m feeling mean.

Subdrop sucks.  Just sayin’.

IMG_6580The Plan

In nature
every little thing
has a purpose
even the tiniest of seeds
the most delicate of textures
the finest of hairs on a leaf
or faint waxiness
on a twig.
It all has a purpose
a reason
and a plan.

IMG_1663Radiant

Like sun
kissing upon petals
sparking up
the colors of my soul
from within
your attention
and devotion
feeds my soul
and leaves me
breathless.

I love you.

IMG_8456Shadows

Sometimes
they are not
so easily seen
but whisper in the darkness
a layer of shadow
lying beneath
the visible shade.
Then the light shines
and the show up
in stark relief
visible
even when trying to hide.

Insecurity is my shadow.  Whether it is the “never good enough” insecurity or the “unapproachable and distant” insecurity or… any of various others.  They are all a whisper in the darkness.  They hide and lurk, shift in the peripheral, out of sight and out of mind until the light shifts… and they are then seen.
