A reminder
tucked away
colorful
but forgotten
on the counter
in the corner
catching the eye
and I reach
to dust them off
and set them
a little more
prominently
to touch others
as they
touched me

greets the world

of spring to come
and each passerby

relieved
to see the bloom
that announces
springs arrival
in vibrant hues

when home is

and gut clenches
with the need
for that quiet
safe place
as car after car
rolls by
slowing down

until stopped
and it feels like
the destination
