Gideon’s Challenge

SandyNot Superfluous

I don’t like it
when you act
as if you should be
unwanted
and shy away
instead of
standing strong
in the knowledge
that I am yours
and you are mine
and not just
always wanted
but needed
at my side.

Please don’t
leave me behind
alone
and forgotten
when you visit
places
of laughter
and sparkling lights
Not even
when I say
that I don’t
want to go
because…
that’s a lie

The WeatherThe Weather Here

There is a
give and take
an ebb and flow
to the energy
between you and I
where intensity
combines with
light hearted fun
where home
is found
in the dancing light
of dominance
and submission
and strength
within vulnerability.

Yellow RoseLift Me Up

Happiness comes
and goes
like the flow
of waves
over sand
and sometimes
when the tide
is out
we forget
how sweet
a walk in the surf
can be.
I think I need
a little pick me up

RainforestThe Cling

I love your cling
like moss that creeps
over trees and ground
as you  grip tight
you nurture my soul
and give life
to the heart
of my life to you
with each tendril
of your soul
that clings so tight
and reminds me
each day
that I’m yours

SwansThanks and Gratitude

So much of my life has been spent alone that sometimes I forget how wonderful it is to have community that cares about you.

Yesterday, someone pilfered one of my pictures from here on IG, and it was brought home to me again just how nice it is to have people who care about you and have your back.  People that will reach out and give you a heads up, and even reach out to stand up for you when shit goes awry.

Today’s Gideon’s Challenge isn’t a poem, but rather a sincere expression of gratitude to those around me that are so supportive.  I see you… and I am so very grateful for your presence in my life.
