and tiny

complex bits
that come
together
to create
a life
so different
from my own.
I’ve always found it fascinating how tiny creatures like birds and mice are so very complex in their bodies. How so much complexity can be contained in something so very delicate and small is amazing to me.

the lick of flame
touches
the skin
and the world
sparks
with fire’s glow
it’s only you
I think of
reaching for.
Light my fire.

A splash
of color
looks chaotic
but look
a little closer
So many
little details
every bit a
loving touch
layered upon
loving touches
to create
something
unique.
Raindrops
Damp trickles
tickle the skin
a cool kiss
on the nape
that slips
to lick down
between
sharp shoulder blades.
One drop
then another
creates a shudder
of pleasure
as droplets warm.
Good Morning
Gray days
start with
heavy clouds
and
foggy mornings
that muffle
sounds
to a whisper
and wash away
color
to create
misty mysteries.

Did you need
in here?
But I’ve claimed
this spot
as my own.
Later,
after my nap
maybe
you’ll be able
to steal away
with the contents
of my new
treasure box.
