clinging to our hair
as breath tufts
small clouds
and the
awakening day
spreads out
before us
as we watch
from high peak
and pause
to catch our breath
and kiss

my hair
it’s the only thing
about this
time of year
that I just
dislike so much
arachnophobia
flaring bright
be brave now and
swallow your fright

Cool evenings
and balcony chairs
sweet scents
of brine on the air
chill with me
high above
and watch
the moon rise
and lights twinkle
below
the chair may creak
with both our weight
but I wouldn’t
trade this time
