on grassy earth
and breathe in
the bounty
of summer’s yield
that tickles my nose

of goodness

Emotions
churn like
storm clouds
as lines
of demarcation
are drawn
in the sky
like sand
bisected
while tears fall
like raindrops
as darkness
and light
play tug-of-war
with the soul
Frayed Edges
Energy so stable
twitches
with disruption
as tattered petals
cling
then fall
and anxiety
shakes loose
all the little pieces
still barely
clinging on
leaving me bare
barren
and raw
exposed
and vulnerable

beneath new fronds
hanging heavy
From low branches
and look up
through the green
to the blue
far above
as I breathe in
scents
of rich earth
and lush green
while birdsong
serenades me to sleep
