Weekly Creativity Prompt – Thankfulness

Prompt: With American Thanksgiving just in the rear view and Christmas just around the corner, now is a great time to consider what we’re thankful for in our lives. Pull (at least) three cards, and use them to describe something in your life that you are thankful for this year. Then share what you’re grateful for and how the cards connect with this theme.

Phantasma TarotFriends and family (Two of Cups) are not allowing me to retreat fully into myself (The Hermit) during times of emotional struggle. They continue to reach out even as I push them away (Four of Cups).

The solitary cards that speak of alone time are interrupted by the Two of Cups, this speaks of those that are closest to me standing in the way of me allowing myself to fully retreat.

In this instance, when I am grieving, that retreat would not be healthy or helpful.  Just as I help them with their grief, they are helping me with my unique needs concerning my grief as well.

Foundations of Success

Today’s meditation was skipped again, although I did take some time to relax and do my yoga.

Phantasma Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Ace of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of the seeds of a new beginning in the area of ones intellect, education, ambition, logic, and communication.

Planting new roses, as is in the affirmation quote for today, is an echo of the “seed” spoken of in the Ace of Swords. Just as the quote as a whole of a mod to logical though.

The message in these cards today is a reminder to make sure you are looking at things locally. Look at what needs to be done to accomplish what you want to happen. Success lies in looking at things logically and planning a realistic path forward, not in daydreams and wishes made with noting solid to back them up.

I ate. I ate a LOT of food. So much food.

Flower Food

Today’s meditation was skipped, although I have every intention on using this time away from home to get back on track in this area.

R Black Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Star card, which is traditionally a representation of Hope, spiritual guidance, trust, gentle optimism, and the connections between the physical world, internal perceptions, and the spiritual realm.

The stars bear witness to our pain, our heartache, our joy, and out celebrations. They have inspired us since the beginning of our time on earth to look outside of our own lives and beyond ourselves.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, the message I see here is that when things are dark and painful in life, it’s important to look for the things we can do to make things better. Don’t just wallow, but create something beautiful, just as flowers grow from manure.

Questions for November 20th

The Crystal Forest Oracle and Phantasma TarotWhat is currently energizing me?
Tanzanite and King of Pentacles

Supporting others isn’t always about being a shoulder to cry on, sometimes it’s about making sure all the practical shit gets done and everything that need to be sustained and kept on track is in order to ensure there are no hiccups while those needing the support are distracted.

Why does this make me feel energized?
Citrine, Nine of Wands atop Seven of Wands

You take joy in being able to protect those that you care about, and this type of support protects them by creating barriers between their grief and those that might take advantage or drag them down further.
