Are You Ready?

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Vintage Japanese Art Tarot - Ace of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Ace of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of the seed of new beginnings in the area of one’s finances, resources, health, home, manifestations, and the physical world. This often translates into themes that have to do with new opportunities in finance or work, renewed health, or new projects in which one is working with their hands.

In this imagery we see the promise of new ventures as a merchant ship draws into port in foreign lands while a merchant and their child stand on shore awaiting the ship’s arrival.

The imagery in this card asks us, are we ready for new opportunities to present themselves?  Are you out there on the docks waiting for them to come in, embodying the early bird ready to catch the worm?  If not… why not?

Lionharts’ #TheJanuaryTarot 2023 Year of Evolution Challenge Prompt
Question for January 16th and 17th

Cosmic Wild Oracle and the Mesquite TarotMake a bucket list of things you want to do, see or achieve this year.

DoPeacock – Find a solid footing for my self-confidence in areas where I am plagued by uncertainty.

SeeRabbit – See abundance flourishing in my life, as well as the lives of those around me.

AchieveKoi – A more secure and stable financial seat.

What am I asked to mindfully embrace {rather than suppress}?

There’s a lot of good to be seen and celebrated in your life (Ten of Cups) if you are willing to be mindful in your inner and outer narratives (King of Swords) and supportive of your creative spark and dreams for the future (Queen of Cups).

Don’t allow negative inner narratives and nay-saying to rain on your parade.  Use positive reinforcement to help your dreams and imagination to flourish instead.

#DiscordTarotholicsJan2023 Challenge Prompt
Question for January 16th and 17th

Vintage Japanese Art Tarot - Knight of Wands, Six of Swords, Two of Wands, Queen of PentaclesAppreciate a Dragon Day – How can you change your perspective to better appreciate anger?

Knight of Wands and Six of Swords – Anger has the ability to drive you forward when you are not otherwise prepared to take a necessary leap in life. Sometimes hanging back isn’t an option, and neither is hesitation. The fire of anger can spark forward motion when otherwise we’d try to delay and procrastinate changes that we need to make in our lives to improve things for the better.

Kid Inventors Day – How can you inspire your inner child to come out and play?

Two of Wands and Queen of Pentacles – Plan in time to allow yourself to explore creating and manifesting new things from all the ideas running around in your head. If you give yourself time set aside for these activities, it will allow your inner child to come out and play more as you create and explore with space and freedom to do so without worrying that you’re taking time away from something “more important”.

Daily Self Kindness

This is a catch-up post, and I can’t remember what my self kindness might have been on this day.

Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Mesquite Tarot, Elucidation Deck, Lantern Oracle

EarthSeven of Pentacles and The Closed Book – Rome wasn’t built in a day and a lot of planning and learning went into the process long before the first brick was laid. You know what you want out of your money, your hard work, and your health.  All three have a long term element and you need to make sure you don’t get out of touch with the elements that make up the progress.  Take a look this week and make sure you know what’s going on in these areas, dig in and learn what you need to know, find what’s hidden that you don’t know yet.

AirEight of Wands and The Sword – Do your due diligence and do it now.  Do not be aggressive this week in the pursuit of the knowledge you need, but the time to sit back and wait is now at an end and it’s time to be proactive and get gather up that knowledge so that you can use it to your advantage moving forward.

WaterThe Fool, The Bridge atop The Knight – You may be feeling all kinds of vulnerable and not at all steady of foot this week, but that’s okay.  It’s natural to feel that way when starting anew after a time trapped in the dark.  Just make sure you have your armor in place should stray arrows come your way while trying to work out your path forward. Don’t take those unintended jabs personally. It’s not about you.

FireSix of Wands atop The Tower, The Dove In Mourning – You’re going to ACE this restructuring. Don’t worry about the chaos so much, because it’s just the chaos of change.  Adaptation is your strong suit and you’re going to come through the changes going on with flying colors.

WaningRadical Self-Love – You have spent the past week relaxing and giving yourself time away from the business.  This was time you needed to heal and find your center.  Now as you move into the week ahead, it’s time to find your footing and get back into the swing of things once more.

WaxingCircles – As much of this reading has already indicated, there’s some chaos going on in relation to the business and you’re going to need to focus this week to make sure you gather all the information you need to make educated decisions on how to move forward.

Take Away – It’s time to get back in the swing of things.  There’s a lot of changes going on right now that you need to catch up on this week.  Make the calls that need to be made, and work out a plan, but make sure that you gather as much information as you can so that you’re well informed and prepared to adapt appropriately.  During this process there may be a few “emotional hiccups” due to feeling a bit vulnerable (possibly due to either depression or the drop?).  Keep in mind that these hiccups are you taking things personally that are not about you at all.  Let them go instead of letting them in.

Ignoring the Good Stuff

IMG_9322Today’s meditation was just over ten minutes long, and was a guided meditation from the Calm app. There was no interval timer because I did not do my piriformis stretches today.

The focus of today’s meditation was on using your own actions to make the world a better place.  It spoke on something that I believe really strongly in, which is that it isn’t through massive acts of generosity or goodness that makes the biggest difference in the world, but rather it is those that consistently practice small acts of kindness and positivity.

Sometimes?  A smile is enough to lift what feels like the weight of the world off a stranger’s shoulders, allowing that smile to spread from you to them… and from them to others.  Sometimes allowing someone to step in front of you in line at the store is enough to lighten a stranger’s heart enough that they then in small ways lighten the hearts of others throughout the day. By being a good person, you encourage others to do the same, and they then encourage others as well.

Paulina Tarot - Five of CupsToday’s draw is the Five of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of the Five of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of disillusionment, apathy, pessimism, and regret.   It is about feelings that go beyond the detachment of the Four of Cups and slip into true feelings of disappointment of one form or another.

What stands out to me the strongest in the imagery of this card today is the little beetle creature offering the figure it’s sphere. The tilt of the head and down-slope of what appears to be ears makes the impression of imploring the figure to please take what is offered and the hope it will please them.

And yet the figure turns away from even this heartfelt offer, focusing instead upon what has been spilled upon the floor to the point that nothing else can break through to lift their spirits.

Like the COTD from the other day, this is a reminder not to focus on the little stuff and let it ruin the big picture.  It can if you let it. Something as small as a sliver or a hangnail can decimate a spectacularly beautiful day… if you let it.  So don’t let it.

Question
:  What can I do today that will help my future self?

Mesquite Tarot

Reading Summary: Take things on from the long term perspective (The Hanged One) of being able to look back upon yourself and your life later on (Judgement) with pride and a sense of accomplishment (Leader of Cups).

Take Away:  The fact that this reading ends in the Leader of Cups here indicates that what is being said here is a need to focus on what makes me happy and not just what I can accomplish or be good at or succeed at.  It’s a reminder that success comes in many different forms, and I need to make sure whatever form I chase, it’s one that provides emotional satisfaction.

Philosophical Question
:  Where does your self-worth come from?

Paulina TarotReading Summary: Going through the gamut of changes (Death), uncertainties (The Moon), and choices (Seven of Cups) in life has built up my self-worth over time.

Take Away: It’s about experience and learning what you can handle, survive, move on from, and make work.  Sometimes life has felt like it’s going to break me. Tear me down and toss me into the trash.  And yet, I rise from these challenges due to the choices I have made.  Changes happen, fear happens, but it’s where you go from there that really matters.

Daily Self Kindness

I am still feeling really good about my decision to change going to the post office to today instead of Friday. Although I did run into a few problems while I was out that way, it was not as harrowing as I felt it might have been and now that I’m back home again, I feel this huge sense of relief and comfort that it’s done.
