Potential For Flight

Today’s meditation was skipped yet again.  (I swear I’m gonna pick it back up damnit.)

The Lubanko Tarot and How to Be a Wildflower DeckToday’s draw is the Nine of Pentacles, which is a representation of wealth and accomplishments, gratitude and comfort, and the pleasure of having done well for oneself.  This is a solitary pleasure, that moment of adjustment where you are doing well but are not yet comfortable to the point you are then ready to share the wealth (which comes later on in the Ten of Pentacles).

In the image, a figure collects the bounty of their hard work, feeling their accomplishment in every pore as they head home with their reward.

Combined with the affirmation card for today, what we see is an encouragement.  An encouragement that we can do great things.  We have it within each of us to accomplish our goals.  To take flight and create what we want out of our lives and be what we want to be… do what we want to do. Don’t give up.

Questions for November 9th

The Ultimate Feminine & Masculine Deck and Fantastical TarotWhere in my life is my inner critic too silent?

“I’ll do what I want” (Power) overpowering listening/obeying without question (Devotion) when it comes to new people and friendships (Ace of Cups).

This is about not taking Gideon’s words of caution more seriously and more deeply to heart. The other day he had a reading that held warnings, and we had a long talk about those warnings, about what those warnings were about and the people that it was referring to in the cards. I heard what he had to say and understood, but.. I was not as concerned as the cards clearly want me to be, for the warning came again in the cards stronger to Gideon today… and here to me as well.

Why should my inner critic speak up more in this area?

When reacting so quickly to disregard (Eight of Wands) I am acting like a stubborn child (Arrogant). His feelings are valid and he only wants to protect and take care of me (Inclusion).

I did not mean to disregard his feelings or his need to take care of me, but I think that I did, in fact, somehow end up doing just that. And that is why my inner critic should speak up more in this area. Not just for my own protection, but also out of respect for him as well as his feelings and concerns.

Question for November 9th
: Pick a topic and pull a card for…
Topic: The holiday rush.

The Lubanko TarotTomorrow Two of Pentacles – Still waiting. Still juggling to make things work. Still more balance than imbalance going on, which means the full swing of the holiday rush will have yet to begin.  There is a bit more business coming the last couple of days, but it is slower than anticipated.

Next WeekTemperance – Have patience. Still slow.  Still not yet where you’d expect it to be.  Be kind to yourself, have patience, and connect with the world around you for just a little longer while you have the chance to do so.

Next Month Knight of Wands – Kicking ass and taking names is to ensue.  It may have been a bit slow in getting to this part of things this year, but that bomb of overwhelming busy is coming, will smack you in the face and be in full swing by the time December arrives.

Side Note: The back of these cards still reminds me of the bunny in Donnie Darko.

Daily Self Kindness

Sexy time with Gideon. So… so… so fucking hot.

Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Lubanko Tarot, Daily Pause Oracle, Zen of Animals Oracle

EarthThe Magician and Water · Flow – Take this week to get yourself back on track with your health and well-being.  There is absolutely nothing that has to be done this week.  Nothing at all. Use what’s at your disposal to set yourself back on a healthy path.  Get out in nature, take people with you along with the tools needed for your safety.  Do your meditation and allow it to sink you into a better, less jagged place.

AirThe Star and Rest – Let go of that negative headspace and put yourself in a mental space of rest and rejoicing.  You have the ability to be filled with hope and give yourself the joy and enjoyment that will allow you to truly rest and recover this week, but you’re going to have to actually spend some time in nature instead of just thinking about it.

WaterJustice, Radiate, Nurture – Again we see an encouragement to get out into nature and allow it to not just heal but nurture you.   Taking the steps needed to care for yourself this week will allow you to not just recover from the stress and abuse of working so much, but will allow you to find new energy and a better balance you’ve been seeking.  Treat yourself good, and you will feel good. Treat yourself badly, and you will reap the consequences of that.

FireSeven of Pentacles, Wisdom, Earth · Roots –  Annnnnnnd again we see an encouragement to get out into nature. Here, the guidance is to pour my enthusiasm into the long standing connection I have with the earth and the forest.  Take some time to visit the long standing older forest land you love so much, and do some deep rooting meditation while out there.  It can’t be always about the business and work… so give yourself some of what you really need right now.

WaningMonkey – Flighty thoughts and juggling too much. Overthinking and too much multitasking.  It’s time to let go of the clouded scatter.  This is under your control to change.

WaxingCrane – Make time to interject more spirituality and peace into your life.  Graceful elegance and the quiet calm that comes with it is important this week, as ins fostering your connection to the spiritual world and liminal spaces.

Take Away – This week’s reading is all about getting my ass out into nature and doing some wallowing and meditation.  it’s about setting to right my spiritual practices and self care. Heavy emphasis is put on my connection with nature, my gratitude practices, and meditation.  Sometimes rest isn’t about lying down and taking a nap.  Sometimes you can get more out of a trip into the trees than any number of naps.

Occasional Uncertainty Is Okay

Today’s meditation was skipped.  The construction across the street was deafening today, even with the windows and sliding glass door closed.  I had plans to do my meditation after they quit in the evening, but then I ended up napping and making dinner after and the plan just went to shit.  I really don’t want to start meditating with my earbuds in, but I am thinking that I’m not going to have a choice.

Lubanko Tarot and Less Anxiety Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is The Moon card, which is traditionally a representation of the unknown, confusion, fear (especially of the unknown), finding your way through dark and uncertain times, the subconscious, anxiety, and jumping at shadows.

There is no comfort in the Moon card, only a hint of the emerging awareness in the murky waters of the subconscious.  A path through the darkness lies concealed in the water, while all around is darkness and shadows, and the uncertainty that they create.

These feelings are common in times when you can’t be in control of a situation.  Feeling like things are out of your control creates a sometimes overpowering sense of anxiety, a riot of confused emotions, and even feelings of helplessness.

The affirmation card for today brings this type of situation into focus, reminding us that when things don’t go as planned and you feel like things are not within your control?  It’s okay.  It’s okay to feel that way sometimes.  It’s okay because who wants to be in control of everything in life?  Everyone?  Every moment and every small detail?

No one.  That in itself would create it’s own mess of stress and anxiety. So, when you’re feeling things are out of your control?  Take a pause.  Take a breath.  And remember that it’s just in this moment within this situation.  Things will feel less uncertain over time and as the situation involved resolves itself.

Philosophical Question
: How is “art” distinguished from something that “isn’t art”?

Lubanko TarotSummary: Art is filled with passion (Strength), it is empowering (Chariot) and transformative (Death).  It makes people think… contemplate… and seek to understand (Judgement).

Take Away:  The cards here are indicating that art moves people.  It touches them on the inside and inspires.  It reaches in and makes you think.  It’s individual, and touches each person differently, connects with each person differently.

Even as subjective as art is, the fact that it reaches in and touches us is wherein lies what  makes art “art” in the first place.

CoffeexTarot’s Self Love For The Summer Prompt
Question
: A self-love message from my inner child.

The Zen of Animals OracleHorse – Get outside and run wild for a bit.  You need that outside time and you’re not giving it to yourself.  The longer you wait, the worse the lethargy and restless discontent will become, so make the time to get out into the forest and frolic with the energies and entities among the trees and moss.

Dragon – Our greatest growths and deepest depths of our selves are developed under times of stress, strain, and discomfort. You’re a survivor, and you shine as bright as the dragon’s pearl shimmering in the sun, a glow of inner strength and depth earned through all you have been through.  Don’t forget just how strong and courageous you are.

Goat – You’re sure footed on your life’s path.  Sometimes you have to move slower than others, but as long as you are listening to your moral compass and following your intuition, you won’t trip or end up straying off your path.  Allow that moral compass of yours to keep your steps steady and sure as you move forward one step at a time.
