Watch your back swing, and make sure as you strive to move forward you aren’t leaving anyone behind. Ambition can sometimes make us take action, when we should remain still and wait.  In those moments of impulsivity where we fumblingly try to act, sometimes we generate collateral damage rather than solve anything.

Instead?  Sit in the darkness and uncertainty of the moment. Embrace it and take your time, for sometimes when you wait? The solution lands in your lap.

What do I want to bring into my home?

Two of Cups – Love and trust. Harmony and togetherness. A cohesive working environment, where everyone is on the same page not just with what needs to be done but with how everyone feels about each other as well.

What needs to be swept away?

Justice – Don’t worry so much about what’s fair, or what’s right. Trust the universe to balance the scales instead of trying so hard to do it yourself.  Sometimes, you just have to leave it up to the universe’s need to seek balance, rather than seeking that balance yourself.

What do the squeaky floorboards conceal?

The Lovers – A long life of love lives in every squeak of those boards, as it’s your loved one’s feet that put those squeaks there in the first place. Make sure you aren’t losing sight of that love when irritation raises its ugly head.

What has been caught in the spiders web?

King of Cups – Gideon, of course. That loyalty bordering on obsession makes him your no.1 fan of all time and your greatest source of emotional support and stability.

What does the smoke from the hearth reveal?

The Chariot – That smoke isn’t from the hearth, but from the dust kicked up in your passing. All this uncertainty and worry clouding your path right now will lift under the strength of your determination to keep going.

Where will the broom take me this season?

Knight of Swords – If you’re not paying attention? It will take you charging headlong into the past. Make sure you are facing the right direction before putting the force of your ambition to the task.

The Alchemical Visions Tarot's Moon Card and Halloween Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is The Moon card combined with the affirmation “no one else knows what they’re doing either. It’s all going to turn out fine.”

Uncertainty is a part of life, and sometimes you just have to wing it or wait it out.  The message in today’s cards is that in either case, it should be the choice that empowers you instead of the one that lets you hide or avoid from the situation.

It can be really hard to find that feeling of empowerment and strength in the moment, especially if uncertainty is combined with a sense of helplessness.  It’s okay to feel lost, though.  Just keep going, because it’s only when you freeze in the headlights that you’re in danger of getting overrun.

Shub–Niggurath – With the new moon comes the third harvest, and on its heels, the holiday rush. Rally the troops to the call of your need in order to manifest a fertile and abundant season to come.

Gla’aki – The betrayer mentioned above is knowledgeable and seems wise. What comes from their mouth may seem harmless, but every word is meant to manipulate in some way. Take care not to fall under their spell.

Lloigor & Zhar – Watch over your twin. Stay connected. Make sure the GPS tracking is working correctly and that she is keeping her phone charged.

Take Away: As the veil returns to its previous state, it is time to put away your aspirations for mediumship and other spiritual pursuits.

The cacophony of whispers will tone down as the Veil closes, and this will allow you to focus more easily on what needs done for your business.  Having the door open too long is exhausting, and it’s time to move on to more grounded pursuits.

It is not in your physical strength where you shine, but in your determination to do what needs done. This is true whether it is in your business and career, your relationships with others. or your faith and the goals you have set in this area.

Sit with what you want rather than pushing.  Sometimes, it’s in the stillness that your strength is the greatest.

Personal Note: Your mediumship abilities are greater when you keep up a regular meditative practice. This is yet another benefit of meditating regularly, and these cards are encouraging you to keep this up and make it a more regular occurrence, rather than something done just when you feel like it.

Tarot of Mass Extinction - Temperance, Four of Wands, Queen of Pentacles, The StarReading Summary: Have patience (Temperance) with your home life and your expectations on how it feels to come home (Four of Wands). At the moment, it’s more about faith than doing, or even expecting others to do  something about it (Queen of Pentacles Rx atop The Star).

Take Away: Your house being a mess makes it harder for you to appreciate and enjoy coming home. At the moment, though, it is not the time to work on this issue nor to inspire others to do so.

With the holiday rush a week away, leave the housework to the housekeeper and hold faith that she will do enough to keep these feelings of discontent at bay.

Instead focus on strengthening your connections with those closest to you (Three of Wands atop Two of Cups).

Take Away: Being that the holiday rush is just a week away?  It isn’t surprising that it’s time to stop toying with “I should get this done, I should get that done” that’s going on in your head.

You need help from those you love, and it’s important to continue in building those connections and asking for help in those corners.  Make sure that you are moving towards them… and away from adding more to your plate right now.  Even the little stuff is too much to add on.

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was one of the #DailyCalm sessions from the Calm app.

The focus for today’s session was all about stillness, and finding that place within you where quiet lies. It can be difficult to sink that deep into meditation, especially when feeling restless and struggling with an overactive mind. The advice given here is that instead of allowing yourself to fidget or your mind to wander, seek something small to focus on in order to remain still and quiet through the restlessness.

Halloween Affirmation Cards and Road to Equilibrium Tarot - Beginning of Materials, Ace of PentaclesToday’s draw is the Beginning of Materials (Ace of Pentacles) combined with the affirmation “I am a masterpiece of uniqueness, just like every pumpkin in a patch.”

Everyone of us is unique and important. Like cogs in the clockwork of life, each of us offers something to the world that no one else can.

It can be difficult to see our own uniqueness, but that doesn’t mean that our contributions doesn’t matter. Instead of disregarding your connection with the world and others, take time to sit and reflect on how the things you do connect you to others, and how the actions you take branch out from that single action to create reactions and new branches that stretch out into the world.

The cards for today are a reminder that the things we do in our life influence the future and those around us in some indispensable way.

Witch – This card was pulled with the question of how to break the “curse or bad luck” from the question above.

The witch card indicates that it is through your faith and abilities in that area that you will be able to break away from this person and their influences. Don’t forget that it’s time to reinforce your wards.

Peanuts Tarot's The Hermit and Halloween Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is The Hermit card combined with the affirmation “The voice that tells you that you aren’t good enough apparently doesn’t know you at all. You’re amazing.”

That negative inner narrative in your  head? It’s a fucking liar.  It just is.

The problem with being an introvert then? Is that we spend so much time with ourselves listening to that voice that sometimes, it becomes easy to forget that it’s a liar.

The message in today’s cards is a reminder to not listen to that liar, no matter how much time you spend with it or how well you think you know it… it’s still a liar. If you’re going to listen?  Listen with the knowledge that it’s a liar and take action to counterbalance it’s influence on you.

Prompt for October 27th : Ghosts from my past still haunting me.

You hold within you a fear that you have squandered your time instead of enjoying it more.  As time flies by month by month, you wonder if you couldn’t be enjoying your life more, and if you aren’t missing out on opportunities to do so with each day that passes.

Onslaught – You fear your depression, and the hopelessness it brings with it.  That deep, dark pit of depression swallows everything. Every shred of pleasure, every motivation and bit of stability, and even time itself.  You fear the Major Depressive Episodes… and understandably so.

The Conundrum – You have a fear of incompetence, helplessness, and loss of control. You are fiercely independent, which combines with issues from your past that create a “I am never enough” mentality. In that collaboration is born a fear of losing control through incompetence, and having no ability to stop or slow the decline.

Question for October 27th : Ancestors watching, witch and wise, what lesson lives behind my eyes?

Halloween Postcards Oracle and the Peanuts Tarot - Queen of Cups, The Devil, Ace of WandsReading Summary: The connection between hands and bat in the Ace of Wands is reflective of the connection of arms and hands in the anchor card. Same with the curve of the smoke in the Ace of Wands reflecting in the back-bowing curve of the women in the anchor card on the left side. These correlations speak of a need to lean into your passions and new interests with others involved in the process in order to find balance in untenable situations.

The Queen of Cups is reversed and solitary, which causes her finger to point down to the ground in the anchor card, speaking of a need to keep your mouth shut and not speak of your emotions, and in doing so create better grounding in your life.

In The Devil card there is also a connection to the stretched arms and clasped hands that are in the anchor card through the chains that connect Charlie and Peppermint Patty in the shadows. The darkness of this card also reflects into the darkness present in the anchor card. This is a reminder that although connection to others is necessary, too much of a connection can become codependent and thus a problem.

Take Away:  The lesson that lives behind your eyes and that you struggle with each and every day is that you cannot trust everyone to connect with you in healthy ways, and thus you have a habit of keeping people at an arms length out of a worry that not doing so will cause instability in your life.  You need people, but you fear them at the same time.

Gothic Literature Tarot's King of Torches or King of Wands and Halloween Affirmation CardsToday’s draw is the King of Torches (Wands) combined with the affirmation “I am confident and full of smiles.”

Today, I get to see someone that I really enjoy… and a bunch of other people that I absolutely do not.

The cards drawn for today are a reminder to keep your focus trained upon those things that inspire you and build you up, and let the rest slide off your back like raindrops of a slicker.

Smile.  Be confident.  Show those that are unkind that their opinions and snide comments don’t matter by allowing your  joy for those things that you actually like to shine through. By doing this, you make their own negativity feel small, petty, and insignificant as a result.  The bonus in this whole thing?  Not only do these behaviors become insignificant to you… but they will feel that insignificance as well.

Question for October 26th : With roots that stretch through time’s old tree, what blessing is passed down to me?

Fortune Telling Playing Cards c.1931Reading Summary: You may not find the news that comes your way (4A) to be a blessing, but there is a boon to be had in the news to come.

Make sure when you go (8A) that you take the ferry (5E).  Note: These two cards came out together and felt like a change of subject.  Normally I would have read them with the first, but that didn’t feel right.

Take Away: Although you are not sure where you are going, as the “news” coming your way hasn’t reached yet arrived, these cards indicate that whatever this news is, at first glance it’s going to suck and you’re not going to be happy about it.

On reflection, though, you will see the benefit that the news holds.

Make sure that you take the ferry on the way home today instead of driving the whole way.

Take Away: It may feel like the end of the world, but it’s not. Recovery will come. The chaos is temporary.  Take a breath and pull yourself out of the panic mindset.

In order to keep from lingering in the chaos longer than necessary, you have to let go of the catastrophizing going on in  your head so that you can move forward more easily.

Also, ensure that the focus you are putting on your business and passion projects is not being wasted (Queen of Wands Rx) by an effort to ignore the facts of the matter (Eight of Swords).

Take Away: Okay so business is in the shitter right now.  There’s really no other way to put it. You love making jewelry.  You love making beautiful things that people wear, and that in wearing make them feel more beautiful in turn.

But… business is slow right now and the economy is crap at the moment.  People are worried about affording food and other necessities, which makes buying pretty things more difficult at the moment. Don’t panic… just wait and pay attention to different opportunities to improve things when they come your way.  Keep your eyes and ears open.

Also, take some of that anxious energy and use it to your advantage. It’s time to reinforce your wards.
