You Are Loved

#DailyCalm with the Calm appToday’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was one of the #DailyCalm sessions on the Calm app.  In this session, it spoke about  how sometimes when you meditate, just as thoughts often surface to play havoc with your practice, so too do emotions sometimes rise up to do the same.

It invited the listener to use this opportunity to experience your emotions and then let them slide by, rather than trying to immediately push them away. It likened emotions during this time to a crying baby, and how we would not try to force the baby to stop crying, but rather simply sit with it and hold it until the crying passes.  The discussion then reminds us that emotions do not need a narrative, or story, or reason for being.  They just are… and it’s okay to simply experience them and let them then move on without analyzing them.

Ideal Soulmate Tarot's Temperance card and It’s Going To Be Okay 2024 Day-to-day Calendar By Kate AllanToday’s draw is the Temperance card combined with the affirmation “you’re worth loving.”

Sometimes, feelings of worthlessness, unworthiness, or depression can make you feel like a barren tree standing out in the open, vulnerable and alone.

Remember during these moments that it’s important to be kind to yourself, to go easy on yourself, and cut yourself a bit of slack. You are loved even when you take a break.  You are loved even when you are doing nothing.

You are not alone.  You are loved.

Questions for February 8th thru 10th

Man's Heart OracleWhat are my low vibrational feelings about myself?

Assistance – You often feel that needing help from others makes you weak and vulnerable. This blinds you to the fact that giving is a form of love and you are being given love when others offer to help you, just as you are giving love when you give them the opportunity to do so instead of shutting them out.

How have these feelings sabotaged my relationship with myself?

The Balance atop Suppression – They bind you into unhealthy patterns of imbalance. You end up putting too much on yourself, thus then working yourself too hard, instead of letting others help you so that you can have a healthier balance of work and rest.

How can I best release these toxic feelings?

Volcano – Lean into love.  Remember that those who are trying to help you are showing you their love. Remember, too, that when you ask for help you are showing them your trust and your love in return.

Question for February 9th
: What do you need to focus on for self-care for this new moon?

Ideal Soulmate Tarot - Justice, Knight of Wands, Queen of WandsReading Summary: Punitive results (Justice Rx) will come from lack of action (Knight of Wands Rx). Your dreams need a little nudge to succeed (Queen of Wands).

Take Away: This new moon announces the arrival of a time when movement is now needed in those things that you want to grow and thrive. Instead of sitting still and doing nothing, which in the end will give you an unsatisfactory but well-deserved end result, get in touch with what you want to achieve and begin to foster it into growth.

Daily Self Kindness

No work today while at Ms B’s.  I didn’t even fix the uneven shelf that I want to fix. Instead I laid around and did pretty much nothing.

An Open Mind Requires an Open Heart

Today’s meditation was skipped.

Ideal Soulmate Tarot - Four of CupsToday’s draw is the Four of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of stability, ease, structure, shelter, and taking time to reassess, as well as cloistering and stagnation in the area of emotions, creativity, relationships, and intuition.

The imagery in this card is very classic RWS, and yet there’s something very sulky and unhappy in that side-eye that the figure has going on as he sits there with his chin in his hand. This makes the card feel like it’s not so much about reflection and contemplation, but… sour grapes. In fact this guy is so pissy that he can’t even see that there’s an offering in the wings just waiting for him to notice.

Today’s card is a reminder that when we allow negativity to take over and steal our focus, we lose sight of others around us that only wish us good, as well as the beautiful and generous contributions that they offer to our lives.

Questions for February 15th and 16th

Epitaffio OracleWhat can I do to contribute to my relationship with myself?

Ghiaccio – Don’t look at your struggles as something to drag you down, but rather something placed before you to facilitate lifting you up.

Narancia Ghirga – Lean into others during these times, and not only will you receive a boon from your struggles, but a closer connection with those around you as well.

How can I use my past as a catalyst for personal growth?

Tiziano – Learn from communication mistakes and misunderstandings in your past to help you communicate better in the future.

Prosciutto – To communicate well, it’s important to both listen and share. Don’t close yourself off and silence your voice out of fear or lack of self confidence as you often did in your youth.

Philosophical Question for February 15th
: Where does self-worth come from?

Ideal Soulmate Tarot - King of Swords, King of Pentacles, Seven of Pentacles, Three of PentaclesReading Summary: Experience (King of Swords atop King of Pentacles) and long term growth (Seven of Pentacles) combined with the influence of others and what they have to teach us along the way (Three of Pentacles).

Take Away: I don’t personally think that there is only one source of where self-worth comes from or one path to its development. That said, for many, what the cards say here is true.  A lot of times it is through experience that we learn our worth.  We travel the path of our life and experience many things, learn from others along the way, and eventually feel that we have grown and developed into our own estimation of worth.

Daily Self Kindness

This is catch-up post, and I cannot remember what I might have done as a self-kindness for the day.

Kindness… Not Just For Others

Today’s meditation was skipped and for once I have no excuse.  I just plain didn’t feel like it and ended up fucking around a bit on my phone instead watching videos and IG clips.

Ideal Soulmate Tarot and Thera-Pets Emotional Support Animal CardsToday’s draw is the Empress card, which is traditionally a representation of sacred feminine energies, nurturing themes, and abundance.

What stands out to me the strongest in the imagery of this card today is that the Empress in this card is barefoot.  I think that this is a very important aspect and including it here shows the connection that the Empress has to the natural world.  She is both grounded, and at ease, comforting and warm.

When combined with the Thera-Pets card for today, what I see here is a message about self-kindness and care.  It’s all well and good to direct kindness and care to others, and wonderful to be accepted as a kind and caring person.   But we need to remember that kindness and caring needs to be directed toward ourselves as well.   Even when you might feel like you don’t deserve it, or feel like punishing yourself is more apt and comfortable.

Try harder to be kind to yourself.  Work harder at silencing the negative inner dialogue that picks you apart and tears you down, puts you in your place and… quite frankly, abuses you.  If you wouldn’t treat others that way, why would you treat yourself like that?  Instead, work at replacing that inner dialogue with something kinder, more understanding, and more accepting.

Question:
What beautiful aspect of myself am I ready to embrace?

Tarot of the Nymphs

Reading Summary: My ability to move through life’s winding pathways (Three of Mushrooms) with an attitude of gratitude (Nine of Sunflowers), and my willingness to show others the path to do the same (The Hierophant).

Take Away:  I’ve dealt with a crapload of pain and struggles in life. I make the conscious choice to walk that path with gratitude, and to see each experience I have (including the bad ones) as a lesson to help me become better in some way.  I choose not to live in the mentality of a victim, but rather I see these experiences are a type of wealth. That wealth is something that I both cherish as well as consciously practice gratitude for on a daily basis.

I want to share this with others, and help them through their own struggles by sharing this perspective.  Sadly, not everyone is ready or able to see things from that perspective, but I try anyway because I care and I want to help where I’m able to do so.

Question
: How can you break free of the illusion that acting on new ideas is the only way to suss out the best from them?

Ideal Soulmate TarotReading Summary:  Moderation is needed (Temperance), or you end up with so many things on your burner at once that your time becomes fleeting and stolen away in too many directions (Seven of Swords). Ignoring the help available to you (Two of Cups Rx) is foolhardy and unhealthy (The Fool Rx). Instead of thinking you know everything (Page of Swords Rx) remember to keep your mind and heart open to new perspectives (Ace of Cups and Hanged Man).

Take Away: Sometimes. I fall into the habit of becoming too rigid in my thinking.  The encouragement here is about being more adaptive, and allowing myself to take things in moderation.  I need to remember that help from others is a good thing, and I need to take a step back and look at why I feel so threatened by the idea of writing ideas down to save them for exploration at a later date.

I could explore more with more help from others, but with both of the center cards very definitely and clearly insistent on being Rx, what I see here is more about looking at things differently and cherishing my time rather than throwing it away by stubbornly repeating old patterns.  An open mind and open heart are needed to find a new path in this area.

Daily Self Kindness

It wasn’t really a kindness in the traditional sense, but I sent the entire day today working on taxes, and with each of the tasks on my list that I checked off, I could feel the weight of the pressure to get them done easing.  I didn’t get finished, but I expect that I will be able to finish up on Friday.
