I Know Hard Work Pays Off

#DailyTrip from the Calm appToday’s meditation was nine minutes long, and one of the #DailyTrip sessions from the Calm app.

Today’s session was about self forgiveness, and how when we allow ourselves to be forgiven for our mistakes and failures, we recover from those setbacks more quickly, because the weight of self-blame and recriminations is not weighing us down.

This particular topic is a bit of a challenge for me, and I can see myself returning to this session again in the future, as it was pretty good and helps add a bit of perspective.

: I Know…

Hong Kong Tarot - Seven of CoinsSeven of Coins – I know that my hard work will pay off.

It’s not a matter of if, but a matter of when. Putting in time and effort towards your goals takes you in the direction you want to go, but sometimes the journey seems far too long and hard.

Don’t forget that all that effort -is- going towards something of value. Patience isn’t always easy, but it does pay off in the end when you don’t give up or lose your way along the path…. just like saving one’s pennies in a jar every day can add up to big bucks in the future when the jar is finally full.

Question for April 16th
: Stress Awareness Day – What can you do for yourself today to bring down your stress level?

The Signs of the Times OracleReading Summary: Chaos doesn’t always have to be something that turns you on your ear (Lightening). You have the power (Crown) to turn it into fun (Flamingo) that can help balance out that stress of it all (Yin-Yang).

Take Away: Sometimes it’s possible to turn chaos into an adventure instead of a trial. Adventures can be fun if you lean into them.

Next time it feels like things are falling apart and nothing is going right, try leaning into the adventure aspect of it all instead of seeing it as a trial or something that has to be “dealt with”.  In doing so, you could turn what would otherwise be a struggle into something fun instead.

: Do the Changes Tarot Spread

Hong Kong Tarot - The Hermit, The Fool, Eight of CupsWhat changes are occurring in my life that I need to embrace or adapt to?

The Hermit Rx – Alone time has become an extremely valuable commodity these days, and harder and harder to get for yourself. If you want to stay healthy and happy, you are going to have to find new ways to ensure you are getting the healthy alone time that you need.

How can I navigate the changes in my life with grace and openness?

The Fool – Embrace the chaos and see it through the perspective of adventures to be had. The reading previously today with The Signs of the Times Oracle said it all.  A sense of adventure can transform trials into something more lighthearted and fun… if you let it.

What will the changes in my life establish for me or my personal journey?

Eight of Cups – The changes happening in your life are there to help you in learning what works for you, and what definitely does not, as well as how to let go of those things that don’t work for you more easily.

Daily Self Kindness

This is a catch-up post, and I don’t remember what my self-kindness was for the day.

🎨 Weekly Creativity Prompt – Page of Wands

Prompt: “Pull the Queen of Cups card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?

The Slow Tarot - Page of WandsSlow Tarot – The kid in this imagery looks so happy and so proud of all that he’s learning and experiencing on this camping trip of his. He’s set up a tent, lit a fire, and stands tall with a big smile on his face. This card is a reminder that we need to take pride in our adventurous spirit, new experiences, and accomplishments… even the beginner ones. Maybe… especially the beginner ones.

Page of Wands - Hong Kong Tarot, Anima Mundi Tarot, Tarot of the Hidden Realm

Hong Kong Tarot – Leaving the house vulnerable and unprepared while thinking you actually are?  This is a serious novice move. Yes, some time outside would be wonderful, but honestly? Umbrella in hand or not, clothes are important. Sometimes, we don’t learn these things until we try them and realize it, though. Remember to look for the better way in the things you experiment with. One’s first try is wrought with pitfalls, large and small.  Pay attention to them, and you’ll learn all the ins and outs.

Anima Mundi Tarot – The salamander is associated with the Wands (fire) suit because, at least according to legend, the salamander can pass through fire without getting hurt. Through this association, they represent a theme of resilience through conflict. In this card, though, the salamander is colorless. There are no reds and oranges of flame as would normally be seen in such a depiction on a Wands card. I would read this to mean that there is a lack of reaching for one’s potential.  A stagnancy that one needs to break free of in order to breathe “life” into their situation.

Tarot of the Hidden Realm – Pure joy.  That is what I see in the expression on this boy’s face, and in the spark of color that fills this card’s imagery. I would read this card as an encouragement towards enthusiasm and going after those things that make you feel excited and inspired.  Reject those things you don’t enjoy and dive into the ones you do.

You Deserve Happiness Too

Today’s meditation was thirty minutes long and self guided during the stretching and physio that I do for myself every day.  I needed to put a little extra focus into the process today, as my back is feeling a bit more unhappy than usual today.  I combined meditation into the practice as a way to use breathing exercises to help breathe through the pain of the stretching process.

Hong Kong Tarot Stick Edition and It’s Going To Be Okay 2024 Day-to-day Calendar By Kate AllanToday’s draw is the Ten of Cups combined with the affirmation “You don’t have to be ‘on’ all the time. You’re good to have around, even when you’re quiet.”

It can often be exhausting if you are constantly pushing yourself to do for others, entertain others, and all around give others what they want without considering your own needs and desires.

These cards are a reminder that you deserve to be happy too, and that people aren’t going to mind as much as you think they will if you put that as a priority in your life.

Philosophical Question for February 7th
: Is the desire to be loved an innate human desire?

Hong Kong Tarot Stick Edition and Alfons Maria Mucha OracleReading Summary: People need connection (Two of Cups and the sun dipping to kiss the woman in card 13), but that connection does not need to be romantic in nature (solitary figure in card 22 combined with Ace of Brushes).

Take Away: These cards indicate that the desire to be loved is not a universal human desire, but rather that the need for connection is.  Some get that connection through romantic love, while others find a connection to others more rewarding when it is platonic and based on mutual interests.

Daily Self Kindness

As mentioned above, I took extra time today to do some additional stretches and help limber up my back a bit, as it was feeling especially uncooperative this morning.
