Morning light
washes

over the world
as the sun crests
and the sunrise
fades away
and as sky
buildings
and the world
blend together
only the thin
yellow line
remains

within my core
as your gaze

on me

make shapes
for us to pick out
like a child

in a moving car

at the kitchen nook
drinking tea
while we watch
the world
turn white

and imagine
we can hear
the soft patter
of snowflakes
as they land
