the door

on every counter
and filling
every bowl
a season of temptation
and gluttony

Whistler or Munich?

the choices
and potential
to see
all I could say
when he looked
at me
with curious eyes
and a crooked smile

“Lets go home.”

sweet little faces
looking up
to say hello
how could
anyone
consider them
a weed
and say ‘no’
to a few
colorful visitors
hidden in the grass
to brighten up
one’s day
delicate and sweet
as they look up to say ‘hey!’

Darkness creeps in
to say hello
and try to crush
my heart
in its fist
as self destruction
takes the wheel
to steer for a day

he is there
with open arms
to patch wounds

back together again
