in my presence

and yet here I sit

Our lives shine bright
like stars in the sky
and echo onward
once snuffed out
stretching through time
in the hearts
and minds of those
who loved us
all along
it’s with those
we’ve left behind
is where we linger on
in memories cherished
and the ache
in loving hearts
remembered like an echo
for all of those left

So much excitement

as Ms B dresses
as a wicked witch
to answer the door
for kids that come
and hands out candy
like Snickers and gum
as pumpkins glow
and skeletons scream

laugh
at the spooky house
