Refreshed Moments
Sweet green
comes in fresh
with the melting
of snow and slush
as life renews
with promises
of more sunshine
and damp ground
and springtime walks
with clasped hands
and time spent
on the mossy ground
staring up
at the pictures
in the clouds

Each day slips
in and out
like tides
breathing life
into eddies
picked over
by seagulls
and each day
that passes
leaves us
picking over
the remnants
again and again
seeking the good
tasty bits
and leaving the rest
behind
Spring is Coming
A moment’s pause
to breathe in deep
of fresh moist air
cool and sweet
scented of pine
and cedar boughs
as the quiet
soaks in
winter’s end
slips into spring
and impatience comes
to see everything
from fuzzy moss
to winter red tips
and brand new buds
and little green bits
Together
Lets float along
just you and I
for a little while
together
as the currents
of life
wash by
in ebb and flow
and we let
the world
spin on
without our
interference
or protest

that I became
so lucky
as to find someone
that knows me
so well
that they can see
what I will see

roots and branches
