Today’s meditation was skipped.

Alice's Alchemy Tarot - Eight of WandsToday’s draw is the Eight of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of action, speed, alacrity, and having a target goal in your sights that you are charging towards.

The colorful splay of wings as butterflies dance in the sky is a promise of what you can have if you get done what needs to be done today.  Get to work and take care of your responsibilities, then you can cut loose and have some fun this evening.

That is the message that I see in today’s cards.  It’s not so much “fly free and fun” but that the fun and freedom is there, just waiting for you on the horizon if you can get your work done in time to indulge in it.

Make sure you get your work done in time to indulge in a little care free fun.

Nine of Wands – Examine your boundaries, discard those not serving you and and shore up those boundaries that are. Holding on to those boundaries no longer serving you is just wasting your time and holding you back.

Three of Wands – Don’t hesitate to act. Planning is all well and good, but at some pint you have to take the first step.

King of Wands atop The Hierophant – Show’em how it’s done. Eyes are on you and people look up to you. Use this as motivation to inspire you to act, succeed, and lead.

The Fool – Embrace that little bit of “extra” in yourself instead of trying to squash it. Take to heart that it’s okay to have fun.. even irresponsible fun sometimes. Today’s meditation was skipped.

Modern Love Tarot - Wheel of FortuneToday’s draw is the Wheel of Fortune, which is traditionally a representation of luck (both good and bad), changing circumstances, the ups and downs of life, and the cyclical nature of life and the world.

The hourglass is an interesting take on the Wheel of Fortune for me.  I usually see the Wheel of Fortune as an unpredictable card.  Yet with both the hourglass and the sea behind it?  There is a level of predictability present that bleeds into the card’s meaning.  After all, an hourglass measures the same amount of time again and again, and the sea’s tides go in and out on a predictable schedule as well. This then makes me think of repeating cycles and that everything moves on in its own time.

The message here is that not everything can be rushed.  Some things move at their own pace, no matter how much you might want to change that. Stop trying to control ever little aspect of life. It’s okay to take a breath and let things move at their own pace instead.

You often find the effort to be kind to yourself a burden and a struggle (Её ноша), but you continue to be dedicated to trying (Верность). This challenge gives you an opportunity to find insights into how to do this easier and better than before.

How might my life improve as I cultivate more self-love?

It will allow you to show your true self instead of being tucked behind a mask (Быть в Тени Другого), which is empowering and better allows you to care not just for yourself but those you love as well (Отец Принцессы). Allowing who you are to shine means less effort and stress in your life on a day to day basis to uphold masks that you think protect you.

Modern Love Tarot - The Fool, Death, Six of Pentacles, Ace of SwordsWhat seeds need planted in my life right now?

The Fool – You need to make a concerted effort towards allowing yourself more fun and carefree moments.  Not everything has to be serious all the time.

What preparations do I need to begin making to prepare those seeds for growth?

Death – Be open to change and allow it to happen instead of grasping so tightly to the way things have away been that you don’t allow things to change for the better.

What in my life is beginning a new phase of reawakening and renewal?

Six of Pentacles – When you give, you get… and when you get it’s important to give. Open yourself to the generosity of others.  You already offer so much of yourself, but take so much less in return. Allow them to reciprocate, as it creates a more healthy cycle for all.

How can I best foster that awakening?

Ace of Swords – Communication is key.  Share with others what you need and how you’re feeling. They can’t reciprocate if they think you need nothing and have it all under control and handled.
