Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Fairy Land Tarot's Justice Card and a card from The Oracle of the Soul Healing Messenger Cards

Today’s draw is the Justice card, which is traditionally a representation of balance, cause and effect, repercussions and consequences, give and take, and can often indicate the law or legal system.

The Justice card has then been combined with the Challenge card from The Oracle of the Soul Healing Messenger Cards, which says, “Being adaptable and flexible can help you respond better to challenges and take advantage of new opportunities.”

What goes up must come down. It’s the rule of our lives on this earthly plane not only in the area of physics, but in the cycles of life as well. There will be good times and bad times. There will be easier times and harder ones. As they say, the only true constancy in life is change.

Along that theme, it’s a natural part of life that our actions have consequences, and those consequences have consequences; like the ripples caused by dropping a stone in a lake, the consequences reach further than we realize, influencing far more than we know. In return other people’s consequences create ripples that influence us as well, and most of the time we don’t even realize it’s happening.

This constant shifting of elements, which is the nature of life itself, requires flexibility. We can’t always know exactly what the consequences to our actions will be. We need to be ready for there to be a surprise now and then. Nor can we know what the consequences of other people’s actions might have upon us from time to time, and we need to be ready to bend or adjust to those as well.

The message in today’s Justice card and affirmation is a reminder that stagnancy is not healthy and fighting against change helps no one. It’s far more healthier and more productive to pivot, adjust, and seek to guide changes in the direction we want them to go than it is to fight against them or brace for impact.

Refinement – What detail needs my attention right now?

King of Lilypads and Kalanchoe

Not in the long visits and longer play sessions, but in the little moments when you check in just to check in, or send a picture of something you liked just because. These little morsels feed his heart and help him feel like all is right in the world.

Care – What small act of care would help me feel more grounded?

Four of Lilypads and Chinese Peony

Go easy on yourself. Stop playing the blame game with yourself as the scapegoat and piling burden after burden on your own shoulders. Reject unnecessary responsibilities to give yourself some time to just enjoy life instead.

Mercury enters Virgo – What mental clutter needs sorting?

Tarot Reading with the Fairy Land Tarot

Something I want to let go of before a new season begins

The Moon and Eight of Pentacles

I’m not sure if this is so much about letting go as it is about adjusting my approach and coping. There’s a lot of uncertainty in my artistic business right now, and it’s creating not just instability but a lot of stewing on the subject of directions and where I want to go from here.

Although letting go of all that uncertainty would be amazing, I’m not sure that’s possible. It -is- possible to reconsider how I react to and deal with those feelings of uncertainty, though.

A way I want to show up better for the people I love

The Sun and Queen of Swords

I want to be someone that helps those I love capture and enjoy the joy in their lives, not the naysayer that brings everyone down. There is a lighter and brighter side to the Queen of Swords that I can embody without losing my more grounded self in the process. A focus on these energies will help me better embody that spirit.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Oak Branch with Moss and Lichen for Perseverance
Black Spruce Needles to Boost Self-Confidence and Positive Thinking
Dried Rosebuds for Potential and Beauty Waiting to Unfold
Dried Purple Heather Flowers for Independence and Luck
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

Daily Self Kindness

I have made a concerted effort to go easy on myself today and not allow the negative self talk in my head to make me ill tempered and short with others.

MindAce of Pentacles – You see opportunities in everything and your mind is constantly looking for new ways to manifest your dreams into reality.

BodySeven of Swords – You feel as if your body is betraying you. Each year more slips away in the areas of mobility, strength, and flexibility. Yet you have no one to blame for this but yourself, as you often choose to leave behind the good stuff for the unhealthy.

Spirit Knight of Swords – Always willing to explore and expand, you charge forward often without heed to the danger.

DECK USED: THE PASTEL KITTY TAROT

Past The Hanged Man – Continue as you always have at seeking to see others perspectives…

Present Six of Pentacles – … and give people the benefit of the doubt whenever possible…

Future Six of Wands – …and success will follow you wherever you go.

DECK USED: ANIMATED MOVIES TAROT

The Situation Two of Pentacles – Difficulty juggling projects and responsibilities with self-care.

The Obstacle The Star – Not enough hope and positivity, and not enough connection to the outside world either.

The Lesson Ace of Cups – Your emotions are a powerful force to be reckoned with. Fresh emotions equal fresh energy, and in order to foster fresh emotions, hope and optimism is necessary.

DECK USED: KITTYCORN TAROT

Embrace Knight of Wands – Your creative passions can once again be a great source of motivation and enjoyment for you if you are willing to stop shying away from them and embrace them instead.

Accept Queen of Swords – You’re never going to get the kind of love and support you long for from from the corner you wish to get it from. It’s not in her nature.

Let Go Ace of Wands – An echo back to the “Embrace” prompt, this card encourages you to “let go and go with the flow” concerning those things that inspire enthusiasm and spark your creative nature.

DECK USED: ALICE IN LUNA’S TAROT

Dream The High Priestess – Sometimes our dreams are not what they appear. Make sure you are looking at your dreams and aspirations closely to see what they are rooted in and where they come from.

Life Knight of Pentacles – Life doesn’t always have to be a high pressure rush. Take your time and enjoy it.

Fear The Magician – You fear helplessness and loss of autonomy. These themes are triggers for you when they show up in your life.

DECK USED: THE RETURNING OF PANTHERA TAROT

Tomorrow Eight of Cups – Feeling fed up with the world is understandable now and then. Instead of being irked into stepping off, take a breath and give yourself a little extra space.

Next Week Queen of Pentacles – Get your ducks in a row as there’s rocky roads soon to come. Make sure you are making choices that shore up your stability and will give you a fighting chance to confront these challenges head on.

Next Month Ten of Swords – Lots of stress and painful endings coming to the forefront next month. Keep in mind that although this is a period of endings, but it’s not the end of the world.

DECK USED: NICOLETTA CECCOLI TAROT

Desire Nine of Swords Rx – No more depression and anxiety.

Obstacle Six of Cups – The past. The damage is done. 50% of people that have a MDE are prone to having another in their lifetime. Once you have had two, that statistic jumps to 80% that subsequent episodes will occur. At this time in your life you have had upwards of fifteen or more. This is far more than the statistical 5-9 in a lifetime estimated by the multiple Kessler studies on the subject.

Solution Four of Cups – Meditation, self care, and sticking true to what’s right for you.

DECK USED: JAPANESE ANIME TAROT

Red Light (Stop) Seven of Wands – Stop waffling and deliberating. Just pick one thing. Just one. One small thing, and get it done. Then pick another.

Yellow Light (Maybe) The High Priestess – It’s possible you might want to let L pick for you.

Green Light (Yes)The Devil – Reward yourself for the things you get done. It will make each accomplishment that much sweeter.

Precipitous Celebration

Today’s meditation was skipped (again).

Fairy Land Tarot - Nine of CupsToday’s draw is the Nine of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of contentment, satisfaction, abundance, pleasure, and at times… gluttony.

Usually, when you see the Nine of either the Cups or the Pentacles, it’s about accomplishment or abundance that is being celebrated privately, where then the Ten in the suit indicates carrying that abundance or success forward to share with others.

Here in this card, we see that the little squirrel has jumped the gun!  He’s sharing early.

This brings to mind the question, what are you celebrating early?  Where are you putting the cart before the horse and celebrating your success before the eggs have even been counted?

Questions for May 11th and 12th

Fairy Land TarotHow do I see myself in relation to society?

The Moon and Ace of Cups Rx – Uncertain and detached.

This is not all that surprising, even if I usually am able to hide it well. When those that are supposed to love you most (and unconditionally) treat you badly, it makes perfect sense you would be emotionally reserved and uncertain with society as a whole.

How have I contributed to “the group”?

King of Swords and The Tower – You offer wisdom and support during times of chaos and destruction in others lives, inspiring them to rise out of the ashes and rebuild.

Daily Self Kindness

My great big flat gel icepack is my friend.  That is to say, I spent time lying on it today to help soothe my back, even though I didn’t really want to spend time doing that.
