Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is The Hanged Man, which is traditionally a representation of taking a pause, considering alternate perspectives, relaxing into difficult situations, surrender, or letting go.

The Hanged Man has then been combined with an affirmation card from The Az Oracle, which says, “When life is reflecting who you were… remind it who you ARE. It will catch up 😉 trust me. The reflection doesn’t shift until we’re ready for it to, but you can remind yourself you’re ready, anytime.”

Sometimes the world around us, and even those closest to us, are unable to keep up with our growth.

We have the opportunity to learn new things and become better people every single day. Unfortunately, others can’t always see the internal shifts that happen. It takes time for you to demonstrate these changes in visible ways others can see, usually repeatedly, before other people begin to get it and see you differently.

The message in today’s cards is a reminder that just because people don’t recognize the growth that you have accomplished doesn’t mean that it is invalidated. It just means that they haven’t caught up yet. Be patient, and they will catch up with you eventually.

Question : What makes you unique?

Reading Summary: All of the cards tie together with the Anchor card through the hues in the Hermit’s cloak. This speaks of your ability to remain in a state of peaceful serenity during moments of chaos, no matter what is going on around you.

In an emergency, you don’t panic. You set aside the fear and anxiety to instead lead the way (the lantern color in the Anchor card connects with the color of the gazelle in the Peace card), letting others lean on you for stability and hope (the lantern color in the Anchor card also connects to the golden aura surrounding the figure in the Dreams card).

You may fall apart later when you are alone, but in the moment you remain serene (background in the Anchor card matching the dress of the figure in the Serenity card).

Take Away: You are excellent in a crisis. You may struggle with the anxiety that comes with powerlessness when you’re given the time to think and react… but in the moment of an emergency, there’s no one better. You have the ability to set aside your emotions and the reactions those emotions may cause and just act.

In doing so, you provide direction and stability for others that can’t handle emergencies and crisis as gracefully as you do. They follow you and trust you to help them through these moments, and in doing so they receive a touch of your calm serenity.

Prompt No. 9 : What would a “good day” look like for me right now?

Reading Summary: No emotional complications (Page of Cups Rx), just you being you (The Hanged Man) and dealing with issues in your own way as they crop up (Seven of Wands)… aka. no people pleasing required.

Take Away: So many of your days are spent trying to please others in one way or another. You don’t get the opportunity or luxury of being able to just step back and not have to worry about these things.

For this reason, a “good day” for you involves a lack of people pleasing, and the opportunity to just step back and observe rather than needing to play Mr Fix-It.

Added to that (and an integral part of it as well, since people pleasing is usually spurred by emotions) is not having to deal with emotional complications. You’re doing well at learning about your emotions and expanding your emotional intelligence… but in the process that means you’re often dealing with emotions you don’t yet fully understand or know how to deal with. It’s often frustrating, and a “good day” would not include this frustration and discomfort.

I took a much needed nap. I’m glad I chose to come home last night instead of staying over at Ms B’s. It was so nice to wake up in my own bed with Miss Luna curled up beside me.
