Finding the Positive Message for July 28 – 30

Songs for the Journey Home Tarot, Dive To You Tarot, Seasonal Fox Tarot Day Edition, and Thera-Pets Emotional Support Animal Cards

July 28

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the affirmation in today’s Thera-Pets card. The affirmation for today is “You don’t have to be perfect to be lovable” which is really a slamming hammer on the nail head of one of my biggest issues, to be honest. Because… perfection is important.  Extremely important.  Or at least that’s what I was taught growing up, and it stuck hard for a very long time afterward, and still manages to stick around, even though these days I’m working at letting it go.

The Fool – Sometimes care free is better than responsible. You can’t be a stick in the mud all of the time, and life is a lot more fun if you let yourself fuck up now and then along the way.  Trip over a branch on the path now and then, get carried away with your own enthusiasm.  These things help awaken the child within, and you need that child within to help balance out that extremely heavy handed inner taskmaster that takes up so much of your time and attention.

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the affirmation in today’s Thera-Pets card. The affirmation on today’s card is “There’s no rule that says you have to have everything figured out right now. Every step forward is progress.  This affirmation encouraged me to go to the guide for the tarot card that I pulled today rather than trying to just interpret from the imagery.  I’m glad that I did, too! Although it was written in Thai, I was able to use a translator to translate it and, as a result, was able to see the Eight of Swords in a new light today.

Eight of Swords – In the guide for this deck, this card is all about the danger and nefarious actions of the man outside, and how she sees him with eager anticipation rather than as the danger that he is.  Her rose colored glasses keep her from seeing things clearly, and this she is missing out on acknowledging the danger she is in.  The message in today’s card is to remember that clarity is important. You can’t ignore shit and expect that you won’t end up getting burned in doing so.

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was focused on the affirmation in today’s Thera-Pets card. The affirmation on today’s card is “You are not a burden. We are lucky to have you.”  I feel like I pulled this the other day when all that drama happened recently on one of the servers I’m on.  I felt like I was fucking up and couldn’t figure out how to stop the downward spiral.  Today’s affirmation brought up the memory of that spiral and how for a time, I kind of lost  touch with the fact that there are far more people out there that appreciate me and depend on me than there are critics that hold issue with how I do things.

The Lovers – Have some fun with the ones you love, as it helps those bonds grow stronger and keeps not just the relationship healthy, but -you- healthier as well.

There was no meditation today, and the Thera-Pets affirmation was rolled into the reading of the tarot card pulled for today.

King of Pentacles – Do what’s right for you and your life and those you choose to share it with. Focus on stability and fuck the rest.

Today’s meditation was fifteen minutes long, and was a combination of additional stretching exercises while focusing on the affirmation in today’s Thera-Pets card. It was a reminder that resilience is about bending instead of standing rigid. Just as the trees bend to the wind instead of leaning into it and fighting against it. It’s in the bend where you find your greatest ability to adapt, survive, and thrive.

Seven of Coins – Right. So I struggled a bit with this card when I pulled it this morning. Mainly? Because I had a hard time with the red and the smears at the bottom. It’s… not a color I would usually associate with the Seven of Pentacles, which is usually about slow growth and sustainability. What I initially see in the imagery here is violence, and it took me most of the day to get past that first impression (which happens a -lot- with this deck, incidentally, and is one of the decks I don’t like reading with for clients because most of the time I struggle with how colors are used in the cards).

At nearly the end of the day, I was sitting here at the computer looking at this card, though… and I considered all of the things that have taken me time and effort to accomplish. Ms B and Mr R used to have a saying that nearly always came up in the middle of projects around their property.

“It’s not a good job until you bleed on it.”

Work on the mower and cut your finger? It’s going to be a job well done. Lay wood floors and snag your knee on a nail? Those floors are going to look spectacular when they’re done. Sometimes, to have a satisfactory result to an endeavor, sweat and tears are not enough. Blood is also required.

That is the message in today’s card. Don’t be scared to spill a little blood as you work towards your goals. It’ll make the end results just that much sweeter.

There may be a meditation today, but it hasn’t happened yet. (I have plans to fit it in, but shit happens, so we’ll see.) If it does happen, it will be focused on the combined message between the Thera-Pets affirmation and the tarot card pulled for today, which can be found below.

Ace of Cups – Emotions don’t always need explanation or reason. Sometimes they just are, and that’s all there is to it. They feel overwhelming because they are new, and because you are allowing them to have space instead of pushing them away. You don’t have to do anything with them other than experience them.

Weekly Creativity Prompt – Death

Prompt: “Pull the Death card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?

Death Card from the Modern Love TarotModern Love Tarot – When I look at the imagery in this card, I see vanity, and how very fleeting beauty can be. That, in turn, speaks to me of the need to cherish the beauty in our lives while it is there, for it will not last forever… just as everything is temporary, so too is that.  The advice I see in this card is about cherishing the good so that you can hold onto  memories of these good things once things change.

Death Card in the Healing Waves Tarot, Dive To You Tarot, and Seasonal Fox Tarot Day Edition

Healing Waves Tarot – A brand new eco-system using the skull of the dead as its foundations is what I see in this card, and it speaks to me about what comes after loss. Change and loss create a void, and in time that void is filled with something new.  We cannot have that something new that is to come until we have gone through the loss that precedes it.  I would read this card as a reminder of what to look forward to, and a reassurance that something more is to come to fill the void left by what has been lost.

Dive To You Tarot – With change comes loss, and with loss often comes the painful feelings of grief. This card focuses on one’s grief, and encourages us to not shut it out but to experience it and process it. It’s okay to cry, or even rail at the universe for those things we have lost.  It’s a part of letting go and processing what has been taken away and/or left behind by change that is upon us . It speaks of healthy processing rather than burying one’s feelings in the face of change.

Seasonal Fox Tarot Day Deck –  A fox looks back and considers the shadows of the past and what is lost. In lingering too long, the fox is also then cast in shadow.  Although, after change has happened, it is okay to look back now and then, make sure you do not linger in the past.  Doing so keeps us from embracing the future and making the most of what is to come.  When you consider living in the past instead of seeking the future, a part of  your future dies along with what you’re already leaving behind.
