May Day Faerie Festival Tarot's Death cardThe @GlitterbyInk #MayTag25 Challenge
Celebrating Our Community Prompt for May 16 : Kind

Today’s draw is the Death card, which is traditionally a representation of gradual organic changes, loss, slow moving transitions, and letting go.

Right… so, did you know that the leading cause of crotchety-ness in the elderly isn’t actually a dissatisfaction with how life has treated them, nor their (sometimes) in ability to adapt to modern changes?

It’s pain. Physical pain, to be precise.

As someone that has dealt with severe chronic pain over the past 20 years, I definitely get that. Pin makes irritants more irritating, inconveniences more inconvenient, etc. It’s hard not to let the pain drag you down and drown you in misery, and it’s equally hard not to fall into t he self-pity trap and begin to feel that life is picking on you.

Many don’t even realize it. The aches and pains come on so gradually that it’s hard to notice, especially when their average overall pain level rises a notch over the coarse of a few years.  A few more pass and another notch rises. A few more years… and they begin to realize that pain that was once occasional is now constant, and they have no idea when or how that happened because the change was so gradual.

The point is? Aging hurts. The older you get, the more it hurts, until it hurts a lot all the time.

So if you run across an elder whose a bit crotchety and unpleasant? Take a minute to react with kindness, instead of rolling your eyes or being uncaring. They are hurting, and chances are? They’re trying really hard to hide just how much.

Oracle Reading with the Essential Oil Oracle Deck and Shapeshifter TarotWho or what helps me to live my truth?

Coffee and The Golden Eagle – I once read that there are two paths for the Scorpio. One is the high road of the eagle who is fair and just, and soars above conflict and retribution. The other path is the scorpion who skitters along the ground striking at anything that comes near.

These cards point to Z. Not only is she a Scorpio, but she works hard to tread the path of the eagle instead of the scorpion. She worked hard to teach me to do the same, even though I am not a Scorpio (although I do have it in my chart as my moon sign).

These cards speak of the need to rise above bullshit and not allow it to influence my emotional stability, and to play the “What would Z do?” game when needed.

What step can I take to create more clarity in  my life?

Juniper Berry and The Lion’s Lamb – Take care not to jump to conclusions. Hold back and see if those that are showing their true colors are friend or foe before stepping into the fray. Sometimes people surprise you if you just let them do things on their own while you stand back and watch, instead of getting involved too soon.

Daily Self Kindness

This is a catch up post, and I’m not entirely sure what the self kindness was for this day.

The Comfort of Stagnancy

Today’s meditation was nine minutes long, and was one of the #DailyTrip sessions in the Calm app. It referred to how we deal with changes and struggles, focusing on how when we are confronted with changes, if we try to fight against it, we may not succeed.  But, if we instead work on adjusting our reactions to these changes, we can keep sailing smoothly even in their midst.

Asray Tarot - The DevilToday’s draw is the Devil card, which is traditionally often about temptations, addictions, and those small and harmless things in life that can become dangerous or unhealthy for us when we wander into the territory of “too much of a good thing”.

When taken in the context of today’s meditation, the message here speaks of our natural inclination to fight against change and resist it.

It’s human to not like change. Even good change can be a struggle sometimes.  When we try to fight it, though, what we are doing is trying to foster stagnancy in our lives.  Stillness and stagnancy might be healthy in small doses, but it becomes a wound in our lives that festers and turns septic if not dealt with.

The message here is to allow change to happen. Relax into it and work on changing our reactions to it, rather than trying to grip so tightly to what needs to change.  Growth comes through change, and sickness through stagnancy.  Don’t wallow in that stagnancy so long it becomes a sickness. No matter how comfortable it feels, it’s not healthy.

@Lionharts #TheMarchTarot The Power of Now Challenge
Awakening Awareness Prompts for March 1
– 8

Sustain Yourself OracleI open myself to the fullness of this moment. What can I personally do to begin strengthening my connection to the now?

Waves – Don’t fight change. It is a losing battle. Work instead on softening yourself to more easily go with the flow.

I recognize presence in the spaces between. In what area of my life do I already experience a deep sense of awareness?

Danger – You are attuned to your surroundings in the moment to ensure that you identify and can react quickly to moments of danger and personal risk.

I expand my perception beyond the obvious. What hidden influence shapes or impacts my experience of enjoying the now?

Darkness – Your intuition has a tendency to reach toward the future in order to guide your next step forward into the darkness of the unknown. This can make being in the present moment a bit more challenging for you.

I focus on what is good for me. What focus can positively affect my journey?

Face to Face – Make sure you are connecting with loved ones. They are there to support you and empower you on your path and in your endeavors.

I move through my day with conscious intention. What can help me move through life with greater ease?

Desert Wind – Use your awareness of your surroundings and your intuition for more than just searching for danger and risk. When you seek the beauty in the world around you, it carves out a new perspective and makes those struggles you are encountering feel a bit easier to contend with.

I actively engage with the world around me. What new path can open up to me when I fully immerse myself in the here and now?

Caterpillar – You allow yourself to better see the beauty in the world around you as well as within yourself when you open yourself up more fully to the present. This allows you to transform how you see the world, and through that transformation, transform yourself into a better version of yourself as well.

I embody the wisdom of the power of now. How can I carry this deeper awareness forward?

Fetus – Remember that this is a new path and you aren’t going to be a pro at it from the start. Instead of berating yourself for mistakes, create a place of acceptance to help nurture this new growth.

#DailyTrip with the Calm Tarot - Premsiri Lewin quoteToday’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was one of the #DailyTrip sessions from the Calm app.  Today’s session addressed the difference between standing by and watching as others struggle or go through problems, vs spending time with them and giving them space in your company, showing them even just by giving them your time, that you are there with them.

It discussed how big a difference it makes in others lives to simply share space with someone, and how supported people can feel in those moments. We don’t need to solve other people’s problems, simply be there to listen and show we care.

Luna's My Melody Tarot's Two of Cups and It’s Going To Be Okay 2024 Day-to-day Calendar By Kate AllanToday’s draw is the Two of Cups combined with the affirmation “No self-hate. You’re too cute for that.”

Sometimes, being easy on oneself isn’t easy at all. In fact, it can feel almost impossible.

Today’s cards are a reminder that during these times when you are struggling to be kind to yourself? It’s time to lean into the influence of others to help you.

Seek out those that love and care about you and let them help in lift you up.  Don’t be shy in asking them for help, even in seeing the good in yourself. Let them tell you all the wonderful things about you that drew them in and keep them around.  That’s what friends are for, and nobody has more experience with those wonderful qualities you can’t quite see yourself than someone who enjoy having you in their life.

#DiscordTarotholicsMar2024 Challenge Prompt
Questions for March 1st and 2nd

Luna's My Melody Tarot - Seven of Cups, Five of Wands, Four of Pentacles, Two of SwordsWhat area of my life is requiring too much sacrifice?

Seven of Cups atop Five of Wands – You are struggling with too much deliberation over too many options. There’s a war going on between what others expect and what you feel is right. Make sure that you fall on the -you- side of the outcome.

What would be a better option or path?

Two of Swords atop Four of Pentacles – Choose stability, even when the decision is difficult and especially when you feel like you don’t have all the information.

Take Away – These cards are a reassurance that I made the right decision in staying home today instead of going north. I’ve had a head cold since Monday (at first, I thought it was allergies hitting off-season for me). I feel a bit guilty not going today, but feel that what I really need right now is more rest to try and force this cold to let go.
