Patience comes
in fits and starts
as waiting
carries on
for what feels
like hours
and seconds
tick by
feeling like weeks
as people cough
and shift
in their seats
as heat rises
and we all look
for something
to focus on
than each other

Little kisses
scatter
over skin
in light brushes
that tingle
and sometimes
sting
as you awaken
sensations
gone quiet
until
warm breath
and soft touches
slowly
drive sanity
far away

Time is precious
and sweet
when spent
by your side
even
in times
when the cold air

and sharp little
snowflakes
sting against
the skin
because with you
everything
is perfect
Little Slivers
For a moment
I am left
fascinated
as snowflakes
turn to
little slivers
of ice
that gather
together
into powder
and coat
the world
one minuscule
bit and piece
at a time

Chaos breeds
the need for stillness
and a moment
to catch the breath
as cool air
brushes senses
and muscles ease
and the silence
works
as a balm
to leave behind
the stress
and chaos
of all
