Golden Thread Tarot - Three of Cups

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Three of Cups, which is traditionally a representation of friendships, revelry, celebration, and collaboration between those that are linked or alike not just in mind but also in heart.

The Three of Cups has then been combined with a prompt from Animantras Chakra Oracle, which says, “Be Helpful”.

Sometimes the help others need from you doesn’t come in the form of chores, extra work, or burdens that are not our own. Sometimes, they just need a little of your time and to share space in your company.

Too often we forget that the greatest and most valuable thing we can provide to those in need is our time and attention. Whether sitting at a bedside or sharing a few laughs, this time is often a greater gift than any “service” you could perform.

The message in today’s Three of Cups and “Be Helpful” prompt is a reminder that the most valuable resource you have isn’t the strength of your muscles or the chores you do, but your presence in the lives of others and the valuable time and energy spent in their company.

Le Tarot Tricolore - Three of Wands

Today’s draw is the Three of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of the first active step in a journey, progress towards a goal, and the seizing of opportunities.

The Three of Wands has then been combined with an affirmation prompt from the Animantras Chakra Oracle, which says, “Be Unique”.

When the time comes to act, and you must choose between doing things your own way, or toeing the line of conformity, consider the value in authenticity.

Yes, there is something to be said for tradition, learning from the past, and how things were done before… but, there is also value in accepting your unique differences and adapting to them instead of mindlessly going by rote.

The message in today’s Three of Wands and affirmation prompt is a reminder that we are meant to be unique individuals. We are not meant to be clones of each other, all doing the exact same thing in the exact same way. It is through exploration and experimentation that new discoveries are made and we get to know our unique selves better. With a respectful nod of acknowledgement and understanding to how things were done before? It’s okay to allow yourself to experiment and explore.

: About similarities…

Oracle Reading with The River: Sailing the Stream of Consciousness

It’s said that the qualities you dislike in others are a reflection of what you dislike in yourself. What one similarity (of the many available to choose from) do I share with others that pokes at my misanthropic tendencies?

The Volcano

Image Interpretation: Greed and excess.

From the Book: Silver-tongued and able to manipulate others and the world around me through words, as well as willing to do so to suit my purpose and intent.

Take Away: I am not always as altruistic and forthcoming in my goals and intent as others might assume. Sometimes these hidden agendas and the manipulations used to further them are entirely selfish.

What one similarity (of the many available to choose from) do I share with others that can help soften my misanthropic tendencies?

The Sfumato

Image Interpretation: Vulnerability

From the Book: The kindness of wanting to support and foster the well-being of others.

Take Away: I see the kindness I bestow from a pure place within myself onto others in the kindnesses that they also bestow upon me. Although this sometimes makes it difficult for me to spot ulterior motives in the kindnesses of others, it allows me to also see hope in my views towards humanity and the people around me.

Sometimes opposites attract, and other times that’s not the case at all. What one similarity (of the many available to choose from) do I share with others that helps me to bond more easily with those I feel a connection to?

The Lightning Tree

Image Interpretation: The broken bits

From the Book: Understanding and acknowledgement of life’s trials and tribulations.

Take Away: We all have broken bits and jagged edges within us left behind by life’s hardships and struggles. I find connection to others in the idea that we are all a bit battered in one way or another, but none of us are truly broken.

: A limit you’re respecting

Tarot Reading with Le Tarot Tricolore

Reading Summary: You are working to give your negative inner narratives less credence (Page of Swords Rx) in matters that take time to develop (Seven of Pentacles) in order to free yourself up for more free spirited moments (The Fool).

Take Away: The negative narratives in your head work to weigh you down and make you feel guilty for any free time you manage to find. That free time is often given to you through long term efforts rather than instant gratification, but your inner narratives do not see long-term effort as acceptable. They instead demand results and perfection now.

You are beginning to draw the line more often and give less credence to your negative self-talk in this area. In doing so, you are beginning to discover more opportunities for joy and more free spirited moments to enjoy.

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

The Cowgirl Tarot - The High Priestess card

Today’s draw is The High Priestess card, which is traditionally a representation of intuition, secrets, sacred knowledge, mystery, the subconscious mind.

The High Priestess card has then been combined with a prompt from the Animantras Chakra Oracle, which says, “Be Sensitive”.

You can’t expect to get a greater connection with your intuition if you are unwilling to also connect more deeply with your emotions.

I have a theory that the reason why highly sensitive people are more often shown to have greater “psychic” abilities is directly in relation to the fact that they are highly sensitive. Their mundane senses and their emotions being more sensitive open them up to a greater range of experiences from the more subtle senses that many less sensitive people miss or disregard.

With this in mind, therefore, it makes sense that when we open ourselves up to our emotions to experience them on a deeper level, it also opens us up to a greater sensitivity for these lesser experienced senses such as the claire-senses and/or mediumship.

The message in today’s High Priestess card and affirmation prompt is a reminder that if you are looking to expand upon these lesser known and lesser experienced senses, you need to be prepared to also open yourself up to being more sensitive in other areas of your life as well, for they often go hand-in-hand.

Tarot Activity from The One Card a Day Journal by Maria Sofia Marmanides - Caring Psychic Family Tarot - The Empress

What feelings came up when I pulled this card?

I was feeling a bit of trepidation when I was pulling the card for this prompt, as I felt concern that the inner betrayal I felt from the moment I was thinking would be validated by the card I pull…. even though I feel that my choice was the best available to me at the time. (Details in last prompt response.)

I then pulled the card and felt a touch of resistance, as I feel the Empress is reminding me to give myself a bit of grace and care, and I’m far more accustomed to punishing myself for perceived slights than approaching myself from a place of understanding and kindness.

What elements of the card’s meaning resonate with me and this prompt?

The Empress is often thought of as the culmination of all of the other queens in the tarot.

This means that she is seen, above all else, as symbol of nurturing. Nurturing not just one aspect of the self, but all aspects of the self and life. The Empress tells us that when we apply nurturing energy to a task or person (including ourselves) that we are then rewarded with abundance.

What in the artwork spoke to me?

One hand holds her staff with a firm grip, while the other cradles it gently. This speaks to me of the duality of the Empress and how she holds within her many faucets.

Beneath the staff, the Empress’ skirts create the shape of a heart, speaking to a innate caring within her nature. The things that she does, she does out of love.

Generous lips, wide eyes, and an appearance of leaning slightly forward gives the impression of invitation and investment. She wants to hear how you feel and what you have to say; she is interested in the many faucets of the situation and engaged in fostering you to thrive through it.

My prompt response and reflections.

The situation in question that I was thinking about for this prompt was when Ms B’s family visited last year and I was present for the visit. One of her cousins is a riot, and quite fun and interesting to be around.

Somehow, the topic of homosexuality came up, and he was very clear on just how violently repulsed he was by even the thought of homosexuality (m/m, f/f, trans, et al). When I mentioned something about it not really being any of my business what other people do in their beds and to each their own, he was adamantly against this perspective and disgusted to the point of nausea.

Instead of stepping forward to then say “well, I’m technically gay and you don’t seem to have a problem with me”, I kept my mouth shut. This was primarily because I did not want to ruin Ms B’s visit with her family nor dissuade her family from visiting her again in the future just because I might or might not be there. In the moment, this felt like a betrayal of my authentic self, and yet I don’t think it was the wrong choice.

Neither does the Empress card, who says that there is more involved here than simply a single aspect or perspective. She reminds me that one’s response needs to be tailored to the situation and all of the different faucets that that situation entails… which is exactly what I did in the encounter mentioned above. This card gave me the opportunity to claim a sense of validation I didn’t realize that I was still seeking.

Tarot Reading with The Cowgirl Tarot and Gallery In a Box Vol.2

Reading Summary: The sky in the Nine of Swords Rx overwhelmingly connects with the color of the woman being held in the Anchor card. In the sky a dragon runs away from the dog on the ground, disappearing into that bright shade of blue. The connection between these two cards speaks of a need to instead of keep your worries and fears inside, connect with your allies to help deal with them.

The Knight of Cups peers through the heart he holds in the direction of the Nine of Swords Rx, while the color correlation in this card connects to the Anchor card through the legs of the horse (speaking of stability found in seeking help from others). This reinforces the message concerning needing to actually reach out to those who are your allies so that they can help you to seek out a better (and more stable) perspective than the one that you are stuck with on your own.

In the Five of Cups card, we also see a small correlation of color in the blue between the vessel on the card and the Anchor card. Some of the dogs in this card are upside down, and there is a feeling of connection between the center dog on the card being upright and the solid upright stance of the Egyptian god Anubis in the Anchor card.

The anchor card’s “Allies” title at the bottom of the card strengthens this connection between the three tarot cards, connecting them together to let you know that it’s through your contact with others you can find a healthier and happier perspective on your fears, including your fears in situations like the one mentioned in today’s question.

Take Away: Sometimes stepping back to put distance between yourself and your fears isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it keeps those things you hold priority for intact in the way you want them to be. Even if you end up stewing about it later.

The best thing you could’ve done is talk to your friends and loved ones about this after the situation was over in the hopes that your allies could give you a healthier perspective on the situation. Don’t hold in your worries in this area, but share them with those that will support you and help you in working through your discomfort and fear.

Marseille Cats Tarot - Four of Wands

Today’s draw is the Four of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of one’s passionate love for the security and welcoming energies of home. This often translates into themes that have to do with homecoming, celebrating home and stability, as well as relaxation in comfortable spaces.

The Four of Wands has then been combined with a card from the Animantras Chakra Oracle, which says, “Be Busy”.

You would feel far more welcomed and comfortable if your home was better cared for.

The lack of a housekeeper compounded with the fact that running your business from home creates a fair bit of chaos means that things have gotten a bit out of hand. It’s overwhelming, and because it’s overwhelming it becomes something that you want to hide from and ignore instead of deal with. This, in turn, exacerbates the problem and at the same time, blows the task up in your head to the point it feels insurmountable and hopeless.

The fact is, though, that if you do just a little bit of busy work each day, that insurmountable mountain will become a molehill and the things that need done will be done before you know it.

Today’s Four of Wands and prompt card are an encouragement to do one little thing to make your home feel more welcoming and comfortable. Then, tomorrow? Do a different little thing. It’s okay to do the busy work one little bite sized piece at a time.

Intuitive Tarot Reading with the Tarot of Atlantis

Reading Summary: You absolutely love your alone time of both the healthy and unhealthy varieties (Right Card), to the point when it is interrupted you often become disgruntled (Center Card) and forget to celebrate and enjoy that together time with others (Left Card).

Take Away: It can be hard to let go of the peace and solitude that alone time provides you with. You want to stretch these moments out and wallow in them. This urge is so powerful within you that, even when the alone time is of the unhealthy variety, you resent its interruption.

These cards are a reminder that time with others is also precious and should be savored and celebrated. Don’t let your urge to wallow in alone time (including unhealthy alone time) hold you back from enjoying time spent with others. You’ll be able to get back to a bit of that alone time later on, and will have the joy of those memories with others to then savor when you’re there.

Tarot Reading with the Marseille Cats Tarot

What repeated element in your dreams have you been overlooking or ignoring?

Nine of Cups atop Ace of Coins – Your dreams always start off well. No matter what ends up happening, you always begin with everything feeling safe, happy, comfortable, and secure.

What is the presence of this element trying to convey to you?

Seven of Coins – That potential lies in this moment of beginning. Although most of your dreams are nightmares or dreams of frustration, the potential at the beginning is there for them to take a happier direction.

That solid starting point in your dreams is telling you that with less micromanagement and meddling, better things can follow.

How can this new awareness help you in your everyday life?

Five of Swords – Less struggle means less strife and less exhaustion. If you want a healthier, happier future, stop trying to control every aspect of its creation.

Storybook Tarot - Seven of Pentacles

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Seven of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of slow growth, sustainability, domestic harmony, hard work, and practicing patience while the fruits of your labors develop and take form.

The Seven of Pentacles has then been combined with a prompt card from the Animantras Chakra deck, which says, “Be Delicate.”

Accepting that it is okay to be vulnerable is one of those things that has been extremely difficult for me to process. It can be hard to let go of control…

[pauses for a moment of thought and reflection]

It just occurred to me why we may not be using violence as foreplay as much as we used to in my relationship with Gideon. These cards make me wonder if the reason we don’t need as much violence in our foreplay these days is because I am more willing and/or it has become easier for me to let go without it.

In the beginning of my relationship with Gideon, it often took violence to get me into a place of submission. Not because I didn’t want to be there, but because psychologically speaking, I had a hard time letting go of control. The violence helped with that (and was hot for both of us… really hot).

Overtime, though, it has become easier and easier for me to drop into the drown (subspace). I don’t need the violence as much to get there, and Gideon became hesitant in using it to get me there because my drowns were going so deep and the (sub)drop that came after was becoming more intense.

Over time, I allowed myself to be more vulnerable and more delicate around him. In response, he became more careful with me.

I mean, to be fair, I’m not complaining. I’ve just wondered sometimes where that violence had gone, and why it disappeared when it was something that we both enjoyed. I think that my mind was trying to find a way to “take the blame” for this change, and that I was depriving Gideon of something he wants or needs in the process.

The message in today’s cards speaks about vulnerabilities and how trust can make these vulnerabilities something far easier to expose and accept. This relates to to areas of life and ourselves that go far beyond sex and preferences in that area; trust takes time. You can’t expect people to just hand over that kind of trust… it has to be built.

A feeling you’re leaning into

Fire – After your talk with your shrink the other day, you are feeling a new spark of your hope and creativity.

You feel like you have a bit of an idea on which direction you want to go in order to try and make things better with your business, and are feeling the motivation to get started in that area on those things that have been discussed.

A standard you’re releasing

Purpose and Diet – Expectations of perfection for perfection’s sake. Recently, you have been encouraged to look at your relationship with perfection and how it connects to self abuse.

Your third quarterly reading indicated that now is a good time to look at the options available to you and start weeding out the ones that don’t fit, aren’t suited, or aren’t healthy for you. This includes your attachment to perfection and the unreasonable expectations you put upon yourself in this area. : About fun…

Tarot Reading with the Storybook Tarot

Why does guilt plague your moments of carefree fun?

Nine of Cups – Guilt plagues your moments of carefree fun because you want to show measurable success in your happiness.

It often feels like it’s not enough to just be happy. Instead, you feel the need for there to be an actual measurable success to show for your efforts rather than just a feeling of happiness or contentedness in the moment.

How can you release this guilt to enjoy these moments more?

Seven of Cups – There was recently an article published about how newer generations are prioritizing experiences over possessions. They spend their money on things that they want to experience like live music, festivals, and travel, instead of on material expenditures that show your wealth or accomplishments. They live light and experience more.

Letting go of your guilt to enjoy more of these moments guilt-free is a matter of choice and priorities. You have to choose what you prioritize and choose what you value most. Do you actually value most the fact that you can amaze others with what you’ve accomplished? Or is your own enjoyment more important?

What would guilt-free fun look like?
