Exploring Different Perspectives

Today’s meditation was fourteen minutes long, and was one of the #DailyCalm sessions from the @Calm app.

Autumn Season Tarot's Hanged Man card and Crow Affirmation cardsDaily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is The Hanged Man (Perspective) card, which is traditionally a representation of taking a pause, considering alternate perspectives, relaxing into difficult situations, surrender, or letting go.

Combined with The Hanged Man (Perspective) card, I’ve included one of @crowtarotmjcullinane‘s Crow Affirmations cards, which says “Influence: I maintain my free will.

Everyone’s choices, paths, and even personalities are influenced by external forces. And, that’s not a bad thing. There’s a fine line, though, between influence… and control.

I feel that it’s important to delve into perspectives that are not our own. To listen to others opinions, and the reasons on how these opinions come to be. Not to be converted or swayed from my own, so much as to better understand where others are coming from.

Sometimes these interactions provide me food for thought. Other times it just helps me understand others and their reactions better. It also helps me to be a better communicator, and helps me better to define how I think and feel about things.

Today’s message is a reminder that you can strive to see and understand others perspectives without adopting them as you’re own. And doing so, it helps us understand others, as well as ourselves, on a deeper level.

Sometimes setting judgment aside and just listening shows more caring, wisdom, and depth than pushing our own viewpoints and agendas ever could.

Tarot Reading with the Autumn Season Tarot and Akasha Oracle ReadingAs the warmth of early Autumn draws to an end next month, what needs to be let go of?

The Demon and Heightened Feelings; Grounding – When you need to feel better, lean into grounding practices instead of fleeting dopamine fixes.

The waffling between healthy and unhealthy choices, all dictated by your emotions, needs to come to an end. It’s possible to feel your emotions, experience them, and deal with them; all without it turning into a rollercoaster of unhealthy actions punctuated by momentary healthy ones.

What needs a little more focus and energy to complete before Winter?

Page of Wands Rx atop King of Coins; Open-Heartedness – You’ve struggled a lot with trying to be open to the changes going on with your business and finances, instead of digging your heels in. This effort needs to continue just a bit longer. There are a few more hurdles to come, and you need to keep yourself grounded to ride them out.

Slowing Down Time

Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was one of the #DailyCalm sessions from the @Calm app.

The Hedgewitch Tarot's The Chariot Card and Forest Meditations Card Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is The Chariot card, which is traditionally a representation of control, willpower, determination, and the strength of purpose to “take the reins” and steer yourself in the path you wish to follow.

Just because you’re holding the reins doesn’t mean you have to move at a lightning pace. Use those reins to pull up, and take some time to enjoy and appreciate the world around you.

When I’m in the forest, I spend a lot of time on the ground. I mean, yeah, I spend a lot of time trekking my way up path and trail as well, but a good portion of the time is also spent laying on the ground, looking at the small things like the moss and the mushroom, the fungi, the lichen, and the little creatures among fallen leaves and forest detritus.

These moments are bonding moments with the earth and the trees, where the world slows down and the heartbeat follows suit.

The message in today’s cards is a reminder that we all need a bit of time in nature. It’s an encouragement to get out and do that. This message is also a reminder that we all need times when the world slows down and we follow along with it to find a moment or two of peace in the chaos… and encouragement to seek that as well. Even better if you can find them both combined into one.

Tarot Reading with the Hedgewitch Tarot and Inner Compass Oracle ReadingWhere can I let go of more force?

Death and Growth – There are times in life where you don’t get to control the changes wrought or the lessons and growth gained. These times are thrust upon you and you must learn to deal. This is one of those times for you.

What new opportunities are already within my reach?

Ten of Wands and Hidden Treasure – The hidden treasure in your current situation is that you are being given the opportunity to restructure how you do things so that you are not so overwhelmed all the time. Don’t push to return things to status quo, or go back to doing things the way you were… take this opportunity to find a better way.

What is an ideal moment of silence for me today?

Six of Cups and Listen – Take small moments out of your day, throughout your day, to listen to the noises of the world outside of the cacophony going on in your head. Discover wonder in the noises in your life that you normally don’t hear or otherwise take for granted, like the sound of kids at recess a few blocks from here and the gratifyingly rhythmic thwack of a hammer sinking nails from workers nearby.

Dried Rhododendron Leaves for Fostering Confidence

I got out and spent some time in nature among the trees today. I didn’t get too far on the trail today, and wasn’t out there for long, but it still felt good all the same.

Who Are You Listening To?

Today’s meditation was a ten minute long self-directed session based upon @thelatestkate’s affirmation that says “You’re not obligated to make every day productive or purposeful.”

Strange Forms Tarot Reading with The Latest Kate's AffirmationDaily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Four of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of one’s passionate love for the security and welcoming energies of home. This often translates into themes that have to do with homecoming, celebrating home and stability, as well as relaxation in comfortable spaces.

It’s okay to take time to just enjoy being home. As a kid, I used to eagerly await my parents heading out to the grocery store or the post office.

It was as if as soon as they were gone, something inside of me immediately released and began to relax. Even if all I did while they were gone was sit on the couch and watch a TV show. It felt like some invisible pressure was lifted for just a little while.

These days? My parents voices live in my head, and there’s no longer those moments of relief when they’re not around or moments of celebrated freedom from the pressure.

The message in today’s cards encourages us to bring these moments back. Remind yourself that it’s okay to ease up on the constant pressure and enjoy just being. Sometimes? That’s enough.

Philosophical Questions for September 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th

Philosophical Questions Tarot Reading with the Little Pigeon Tarot, Earth Woman Tarot, and Bird Vibes Meditation CardsWhat are the 3 major strengths of humanity?

Two of Swords – Free will combined with the intelligence to think through their decisions before acting.

Six of Cups Rx – The ability to forgive and forget. Forgiveness is difficult, and forgetting may not always happen, but it is definitely one of our greatest strengths that we can.

Wheel of Fortune – Adaptability.  The ability to adapt and adjust on the fly, shifting our minds and intentions as needed and learning from those moments.

What is humanity’s biggest accomplishment?

House Finch – Self Awareness. We are not just aware of ourselves, but also aware of how our actions influence others and the world around us. Learning how to be self aware and reflect on ourselves and our actions allows for not just personal growth, but a community minded approach to helping each other as well.

What are the 3 major weaknesses of humanity?

Four of Wands Rx – A lack of appreciation and care for our “home”… as in, the Earth.

Ten of Pentacles Rx – Self-centered greed. This greed isn’t greed for the greater good, but all about the self and the ego.

Wheel of Fortune Rx – Humanity’s wilful lack of adaptability. Although we have the capability to adjust and adapt as needed to situations and changes, we are often resistant to do there, fighting against changes and digging our heels in instead of going with the flow.

What is humanity’s biggest mistake?

Baltimore Oriole – Our focus on creature comforts. This, of course, falls into both that self-centered greed aspect above, as well as the lack of willingness to accept change.
