Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

The Re-Ection of Tarot - Queen of Pentacles

Today’s draw is the Queen of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of a receptive alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s resources, financial stability, health, home, labors, manifestations, or other aspects of the physical realm. This often translates into a supportive or nurturing energy or entity in the areas of one’s health, home, and financial responsibilities.

The Queen of Pentacles has then been combined with an affirmation from the Affirmators! Morning Mantras deck, which says, “I radiate patience like a GD guru. (Mostly because I’m too exhausted this morning for tantrums)”

(I am embarrassed to confess I had to go look up what “GD” means to figure out it means goddamn. Bless those who put this type of information out there on the internet for old farts like me.)

My mornings are… well, pretty much identical from one day to the next. I wake up in pain, I get dressed, I eat and feed Miss Luna. I race to work. I work. I come home and shower and eat again. I do my physio/yoga and meditate. I do readings (for myself and for my clients). I eat again. From there? The day splinters off into different things depending on what’s needed or what’s scheduled from driving a few hours to go visit an elderly friend (or cross the Canadian border) to doing a shift or two at other jobs I hold down, to working on my business at home, etc. The mornings though? They all start off the same.

I don’t have time to be an ass. I don’t have time to be grumpy. I don’t have the energy to waste time on anything, which includes being unable to check my phone. And oddly? I like this stability and sameness. I’m not sure I could handle it in my entire day, but starting my day off with a stable daily routine helps me feel like each day is a little less chaotic.

The message in today’s cards asks us to consider what we might change or add to our lives to foster a greater sense of stability in our day to day? Maybe not checking the phone until you’re out of bed, or setting up a specific morning routine. Perhaps just stepping out on the balcony each morning for a breath of fresh air and a sip of tea or coffee. What might make your mornings a little better each day? And, in doing them each day, have the effect of encouraging your day to feel a bit better as well.

Tarot Reading with Luna's Little Twin Stars Tarot and The Purring Prophet Oracle

What good is ready to come into bloom in your life with the approach of Spring?

The Hanged Man and Window Bird – You will be given the opportunity to slip back into a mental space where you can more easily understand the perspectives of others.

Sometimes when things are feeling chaotic, you have a tendency to step back from your observation of others and your efforts to understand what lies beyond yourself. These are moments in which you temporarily lose an important part of yourself.

The peace and pause that is coming your way will allow you to reclaim this part of yourself once more, giving you the space necessary to begin reaching for that greater sense of understanding your pursuit of alternate perspectives provides.

What can you do to encourage the arrival of this good?

Eight of Wands Rx and The Camera – Go slow and use these moments of slowness to ensure that you’re doing what you want, instead of simply performing for others wants and desires.

Others may take your slowing down as an opportunity for them to monopolize more of your time. Make sure that you have boundaries in place that will not allow this to happen. Your time and attention is your own… it does not belong to them to do with as they wish.

Tarot Reading with The Re-Ection of Tarot

Reading Summary: To actively move forward (Knight of Wands) into a more self-serving mindset that leaves behind (Seven of Swords) your defensive feelings (Nine of Wands beneath Ace of Cups).

Take Away: The feelings from last fall in the “being picked on” variety have been hard to shake off as things continue to not go in the direction that you want them to. Part of the reason for this is because you are not being self-serving enough in your actions to resolve the problem.

Instead of hanging back and allowing your defensive emotions to take the wheel, it’s time to step forward and act in your best interests.

Set aside what isn’t working anymore, and move forward in the direction of your wants and needs with a selfish intensity.

Daily Mental Health Prompt: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Luminous Flow Tarot - King of Wands

Today’s draw is the King of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of a projective alpha energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s passions, drive, determination, principles, values, and willpower. The King of Wands often indicates themes that have to do with leadership figures or authority figures with the ability to rally others to their causes and draw them in to their own values, principles, and passions.

The King of Wands is then combined with an affirmation from the Pass Around the Smiles Positive Guidance Cards, which says, “You’re protected, it’s go time. You’re currently being protected. The universe has your best interest at heart. Move forward fearlessly. Have courage.”

All those things that you’ve wanted and pushed so hard to accomplish and experience… all of these experiences you’ve had and the lessons you’ve learned from them are now a part of you. A part of you that you can bring up and use whenever you need it.

Now is the time to experiment and try new things, then add these new things to the old things you’ve already learned and experienced. This is how you continue to grow and develop past your current successes and into the new ones yet to be explored.

The message in today’s King of Wands and affirmation card is a reminder that growth may be difficult and scary, but it’s not impossible. You just have to put that significant determination to the task, regardless of your fears of fucking it up. Be brave and be curious. Keep going. There’s still more yet to experience and explore.

Oracle Reading with the In2It Soul Expansion Trio Oracles

What kind of life do I want to create?

Discernment, Love and Compassion, Overachiever – A life of acceptance of self. A life where instead of beating yourself up for your perceived failings and inability to achieve lofty goals that you set up from the beginning to be out of your reach, you love yourself as you are and offer acceptance and compassion instead of self-flagellation.

What does peace look like for me?

Freedom, Willingness to Learn, Trust – Less control and more trust that things are going to turn out okay whether you have control of the situation or not.

Peace, at this time, is not having to be the one to fix everything, but instead trusting that everything’s going to be okay regardless of whether you step in to interfere or not.

What do I want more of in my life?

Hiking, Remaining Lighthearted, Sex – More play time outside, and more play time with your partner. In both of these cases, you desire the ability to let go and just have fun without allowing life’s stressors to get in the way of your enjoyment.

This is why “the drown” holds such a lure for you, because for a few blissful moments you can trust your partner to hold every shred of control and you are able to let go of everything except the experience you’re having in that moment.

What have I always dreamed of doing but haven’t started yet?

Listening, Dismantling False Belief Systems, Balance – The shadow work necessary to root out your deepest wounds from your past and create the balance needed to heal them. You’ve skirted around the edges of this practice, but there’s so much there to deal with that it quickly becomes too overwhelming.

What kind of people do I want around me?

Organizing, Claiming Full Responsibility, Rejection – People who are responsible enough to own their mistakes instead of running away from them or trying to pass them off onto others.

Tarot Reading with the Luminous Flow Tarot

Reading Summary: Work with others who care about you and have earned your trust (Two of Cups and Eight of Pentacles) to combat the harsh judgments your inner critic keeps doling out (Judgement and Queen of Swords).

Take Away: Your loved ones are the counterbalance to your negative thoughts, even if it means sharing with them the things your inner narratives are saying.

Yes, it can be embarrassing, awkward, and even frightening to share these thoughts with others. You’ve seen in the past the surprise (and horror) on the faces of those you love when you share some of the things going on in your head.

That doesn’t mean you should be keeping these things to yourself. It means they need more practice in supporting you in this manner. It’s a skill. The more you share with them, the more skilled they will become in providing the support you need.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Parmeliaceae Lichen for a “Breath of Fresh Air”
Dried Red Maple Leaf for Adaptability and Connection
Mookaite for Help with Weighing One’s Options

The Alchemical Tarot Renewed 4th Edition - The Chariot

Today’s draw is The Chariot card, which is traditionally a representation of control, willpower, determination, and the strength of purpose to “take the reins” and steer yourself in the path you wish to follow.

The Equinox is a time of balance. And just as the Autumn Equinox revolves around a slowing down and dampening of energies and life, the Spring Equinox is all about the quickening of energies and life.

When we look at the Chariot from the rear view as is shown in today’s card, we see that although the charioteer is in charge, he really doesn’t have the greatest view. He can’t see all that’s going on around him because he’s got two very large horse’s asses in his way.

This brings up the idea that sometimes having all the control isn’t really a good thing after all, because you can’t always see where you’re going. That means that even though you’re in charge, you may have a hard time navigating your way.

The message in today’s Chariot card combined with the “Equinox” spread suggests that instead of go, go, go all the time, we try stepping down and stepping aside, so we can see things from a better angle now and then. That involves slowing down and letting go of the reigns. Otherwise… you’re going to miss something important sooner or later.

Tarot Reading with the After Tarot

Reading Summary: New ideas (Ace of Swords) have a tendency to spark new hope within you (The Star). Take care that you are not jumping the gun before you make sure it’s what you really want, though (Knight of Cups Rx).

Take Away: Flights of fancy can be fun, but they have a tendency to leave a mess in their wake, and put too much on your plate at one time. In fact, it’s that over-crowding on your plate that creates the mess in the first place, for you jump on board based on enthusiasm alone, and then drop the ball due to overwhelm.

Instead of getting excited about every little thing and diving in to try each one of them right away, step back and consider if the overwhelm you’re setting yourself up for is really the direction you want to go in. Perhaps writing the ideas down is a better option so that you can then take them on with a granule or two of moderation.

Philosophical Question for March
18th : Is happiness an inherent desire or is it a learned value?

Tarot Reading with The Alchemical Tarot Renewed 4th Edition

Reading Summary: Once we’ve experienced happiness for the first time (Ace of Swords), it lights a fire within us to seek it out again and again (Two of Wands).

Happiness then becomes something that drives us (Queen of Swords) and can supersede other life goals if the desire for it is left unchecked (Temperance).

Take Away: Happiness is an addiction.

It’s not something we know until we experience it for the first time, which means it’s not an inherent desire. Instead, it’s something that, once experienced, we seek out again and again.

Therefore, these cards indicate that it’s a learned value that acts like an addiction.
