Where does time go
when the stillness
comes
and the world
goes quiet
and the mind follows
the ticking clock
is silent
and yet time
continues on
and when breath
resumes
an eternity has passed
in a moment
❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)
These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.
The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?
Earth – Page of Wands and Kintsugi – Breaking is a part of growing. In order to become more whole and a more beautiful soul, you must break and then mend the cracks. At the moment? Your cracks are showing.
This is a reminder that I need to take a break. Everyone needs rest once in a while in their passions and on their journeys. I have time scheduled in two weeks to have some time off, but these cards indicate if I want to make it to that point two weeks from now, I’m going to need to let myself have some time now.
There is also a reminder in here that I need to call and get my appointments made with my shrink for 2022. I usually get them made in November, but with the whole death thing last November combined with the holiday rush, I just forgot.
Air – King of Swords and Communication – Level up. Communicate. Be assertive. Lead. These cards are a reminder of who you are, where your strengths lie, and that you need to stand strong in that and not allow others to tear you down.
Water – Nine of Cups and Harmony – This week be sure to spend some time sinking into the things that make you feel good and content and happy. Acknowledging and indulging in them a bit in the week ahead will help instill harmony where things are currently feeling chaotic.
Fire – The Chariot and Healing – Lean into healing this week and adopt it as your main priority. If this means speaking out (an echo to the Air position in this reading), do so. If it means wallowing in those things that make you feel good? Do it. Take charge of your healing and what needs done for it to not just thrive, but flourish.
Found on the Floor – The Sun – Make sure that you are not abandoning your efforts towards positivity and optimism during this time.
Waning – Scythe and Snake – Set your feelings of being attacked and the rise of emotions that came from it aside.
You’ve had a bit of time to examine why you reacted as you did, and to continue to hold onto these feelings and dwell over the experiences will only drag you down or cause you to make poor decisions in the future. Don’t allow these things to influence bad future decisions, but instead set them aside and leave them behind.
Waxing – Dog and Lady – Look toward those you trust and know are loyal to you, especially of the female persuasion.
Take Away – In the waxing position, it doesn’t say why I should be looking in this direction, only that I should pay closer attention. Whatever is coming, I will need their help or they will help mitigate the effects of. Or it is possible they will bring something into my life this week that is needed.
The rest of this is about finding balance in my life this week, where I’ve been feeling unbalanced. The cards here are all guidance on “finding myself” as I try to pull myself out of my current funk. As this trend spreads through the entire reading, that it is where the “loyal woman” comes into the picture as well.

Let It Go
Today’s meditation was ten minutes long, and was just quiet time complete with breathing exercises and my piriformis stretching. I also did a couple of forearm stretches as they’ve been feeling a bit tight.
Today’s draw is the Six of Swords, which is traditionally a representation of leaving behind conflict and difficult times for something better, abandoning turbulence and leaving one’s troubles behind, transitions, and letting go of old baggage.
Yesterday… was a rough day. Mood wise, emotion wise… in so very many of the different ways that make a day a rough one. Things took longer than usual to get done, people moved at a snails pace, even the credit card processors seemed to be working at a crawl. If there was something I could drop? I dropped it. If there was a foot I could put in my mouth? I ate it.
All around… just a rough day. Today’s cards are a reminder to set it aside. Let go of the hurt feelings, the painful moments, the frustrations and the struggles and the impatience. None of it needs to be carried forward… just let it go.

Questions for February 5th
What three areas in my life are ready for a transformation?
Judgement – Your view of where you’re going and who you want to be. As you grow and evolve over time, so too does your plan need to evolve.
Ten of Cups – How you view happiness and contentment. As you grow and change over time, these views of what happiness and contentment are for you and how you can best experience them also change.
Eight of Cups – How you deal with emotional dissatisfaction. You recently fell back on the urge to walk away. You caught yourself, but it may be time to address this inclination.
What is required {of me} for each transformation?
Judgement → Two of Cups – Remember that you are never ‘in this’ alone. You need others, even if your independent streak makes that difficult to admit at times. As you have allowed people more space and time in your life, you need to expand and adjust your plans to include them, for your relationship with these people become a part of who you are.
Ten of Cups → King of Wands – A willingness to make it happen. To go after that happiness instead of considering it beneath you or not worth your time. Make it a passion and then take the reigns and make it a part of your life. Make it important.
Eight of Cups → Queen of Swords – Own who you are, and be “the son of a bitch” that lurks inside of you when it’s needed. Know your worth and trust that others do as well, and set those straight that don’t instead of running to hide under a rock.

I took a nap. I mean, I don’t really feel like I got much of anything done today. I’m not even sure where the majority of the day went. But I -did- take a nap when I was feeling extra tired.
Gideon’s Challenge
Where…
do they come from?
The ugly feelings
the disproportionate
internal reactions
awaken and stir.
They hear derision
and soak it in
take it deep
weld it into spears
sharp and deadly
to pierce the soul.
How do the words
of one stranger
manage to outweigh
the many
that know you better?

Don’t Speak
Today’s meditation was skipped.
Today’s draw is the Hanged Man, which is traditionally a representation of taking a pause, considering different viewpoints, the need for a change of perspective, and letting go of control to surrender to the moment.
Again… as was the Hanged Man drawn two days ago, this guy doesn’t look particularly unhappy with his lot in life at the moment. The major difference in these cards is that in this one, the figure is also gagged as well as bound.
This card clearly states to me “keep your mouth shut and listen”. Don’t speak. Listen. Don’t run off at the mouth. Listen. Today is not a day for expressing opinions, it’s a day for listening. Listen to what is being said around you. Listen to what is being said to you. Stay still, and let yourself be the stillness in the center of the cacophony’s storm.

Questions for February 4th
Describe in three cards the quality of life you want to experience.
Ten of Pentacles – Wealth and success that goes beyond money and is bountiful enough to allow me to share a sense of security and stability with those near and dear to me.
The Hanged Man – With a moment’s pause and a bit of reflection comes wisdom, patience, and depth of understanding for perspectives outside my own.
The Lovers – Having a moment of contentment is great, but a lifetime of emotional wealth and healthy decisions aligned with one’s values? That is even better. I don’t want to just feel content or like I’ve accomplished something, I want to be able to share my feelings with others, and them to share theirs with me.
For each card ask: How can I begin to embody this essence of life now?
Ten of Pentacles – Death – Stay aware of the changes that are coming so that you have time to prepare for them instead of allowing them to sneak up on you because you’re willfully turning a blind eye to their approach. You have a tendency to pretend transitions and changes aren’t coming until it’s too late to prepare for them, then “wing it” through the transition. You could accomplish so much more if you were willing to look at the changes coming long before they arrive and begin preparing accordingly.
The Hanged Man – The Devil – Your addictions (and addictive nature as a whole) further your ability to be able to see beyond your own perspective. This is especially true when it comes to your card reading (and that massive collection of decks). Recognize the value in this ability to see beyond your perspective… the ability to use the things you love and enjoy to do so… and the ability to understand others viewpoints in these moments. Remember that there is so much more to explore if you allow yourself to do so.
The Lovers – Justice – Remember that you get what you give. This is true whether it is between you and other people, or what you get out of life as a whole.
