❤️ Self Care Saturday (On a Sunday)

These Saturday readings are (not usually) bearing in on any one thing or event in my life, as the question used is asking for a more general outlook. This is a self care exercise, and is not meant as a predictive reading… although that, too, happens on occasion.

The question is… What do I need to focus for self-care through the week ahead?

Self Care Saturday Tarot reading with the Grim Tarock and Wicked Tales Lenormand

EarthThe Fool – Give yourself permission to fuck off a bit this week. Not everything has to be so serious all the time.

AirQueen of Chaos – Often, other people see chaos while you see opportunity. Instead of keeping this perspective to yourself, help them see the opportunities as well.

WaterAce of Cups – New emotions don’t have to be scary. They can also be an opportunity for growth, if you’re willing to sit with them for a bit.

FireAce of Wands – Make sure that you’re watching for those opportunities in chaos, instead of discarding them out of hand. There’s more there on offer than you might see at first glance.

WaningShip and Fox – Instead of trying to direct the boat, just go along for the ride. Nothing you do at this time is going to manipulate a better outcome or result.

WaxingClouds and Book – Don’t be lazy. If you don’t know something, do the research. It’ll be worth the dig.

Take Away – Be proactive in showing others the opportunities that they are missing, as you go along for the ride this week.  Don’t try to push anything one way or another. There’s no need to be stubborn or to be in control this week. Instead, use this week to observe and have a little fun.

Teknebrea Tarot's Seven of Pentacles and Halloween Affirmation CardsThe @GlitterbyInk #OctoberMagic25 Challenge
Crone Prompt for October 18th
: Legacy
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Seven of Pentacles, which is traditionally a representation of slow growth, sustainability, domestic harmony, hard work, and practicing patience while the fruits of your labors develop and take form.

The Seven of Pentacles has then been combined with a Halloween Affirmation card that says, “Like a ghost, I let go of the past and allow myself to move forward.”

It’s important to be mindful of the things that we carry forward with us. Lessons are a good thing to carry with us, wounds, and trauma… not so much. Happy memories and experience are good, but resentment is not.

We are allowed to choose. Not only what our legacy is in this world, but what this world’s legacy is upon us as well.

Today’s message is a reminder that we can learn from the past without carrying with us the festering wounds or other unhealed damage of past experiences. It’s important to focus on healing our past wounds, instead of allowing them to fester and begin to poison our present and our future.

Examining One’s Boundaries

Yokai Yochi Tarot's Five of Wands and Sinister Affirmation CardsThe @GlitterbyInk #OctoberMagic25 Challenge
Crone Prompt for October 17th
: Resilience
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Five of Wands, which is traditionally a representation of conflict, tests, trials, and struggle in the area of one’s passions, drive, determination, principles, values, and willpower.

The Five of Wands card has then been combined with an affirmation card from the Sinister Affirmations deck, which says, “Some may not like it when you start setting boundaries, but it will serve you well in the long run. Lucifer got kicked out out of his father’s house for setting boundaries, and look at him now: King of Hell. Set boundaries. Rule your domain.”

When conflict comes calling between you and others, do you fold in order to try and keep the peace? Or do you dig in your heels and stand your ground?  Where do you draw the line between self sacrifice and self-care?

Resilience is an important part of survival in this world, but that quality goes beyond just surviving whatever is thrown your way. It also means setting boundaries for yourself and others so that you aren’t being taken advantage of.

The message in today’s cards is an encouragement to examine where in your life you feel you’re being taken advantage of or giving far too much of yourself. Consider how you can adjust your boundaries to stand your ground more and give yourself the love and care you need.

Tarot Reading with the Yokai Tarot and the Spooky and Pretty Characters Playing Cards by Karina GazWeed – Jack of Diamonds, The Magician, Queen of Hearts – Those places where you lack self confidence and experience feelings of imbalance stem from an emotional base. Start digging into your emotions and it will give you the tools needed to build what will feel like a more stable foundation.

Compost – Seven of Diamonds, Nine of Wands, Six of Hearts – It’s time to get rid of the idea that over-diligence is an asset, when in reality it just retriggers old unhealthy cycles to repeat again and again.

Amend – Three of Hearts, The Sun, Jack of Spades – As comfortable as it is, and as much as you are drawn to it, solitude is not your friend. When you spend time with others, it helps lift you up. Work on not thinking of this time with others as an inconvenience, but rather as a way to brighten your inner light and keep the depression at bay.

Crypt Prompt for October 17th
: What secrets are you hiding tucked away in the dark?

Tarot Reading with the Yokai Yochi TarotReading Summary: When things fell apart at the seams in September after so many years working at building your creative business (Ten of Swords), you considered walking away from it entirely (Seven of Swords) and looking at starting something new (Page of Wands) instead of trying to recover from the blow dealt to your business. (Choices being a central theme with the Seven of Cups.)

Take Away: The secret is the fact that you considered bailing.  Seriously considered it.  It wasn’t a passing thought or frivolous musing, but something you spent a lot of time mulling over and almost followed through on before finding a way to help in re-sparking the flame of your hope and keep going.

Other elements included in this reading:
Zodiac Wheel for Understanding Cycles and Rhythms
Pine Tips Ceramic Impression for Longevity and Sustainability
Rose Quartz for Gentle Kindness to Self and Others

We Are All Freaks

Today’s meditation was a ten minute #DailyTrip session from the @Calm app.

While a certain amount of worrying may be necessary, worried thoughts (generally) become more worried thoughts. What we pay attention to can become our whole life.”

Under the Bed Tarot's Knight of Wands and Halloween Affirmation CardsThe @GlitterbyInk #OctoberMagic25 Challenge
Crone Prompt for October 16th
: Wisdom
Daily Mental Health Prompt
: Seek a positive message to carry with you throughout the day and offer perspective.

Today’s draw is the Engager of Wands (Knight of Wands), which is traditionally a representation of a projective beta energy, personality, or person in the area of one’s drive, passions, willpower, principles, inspiration, or enthusiasm. This often translates into themes that have to do with rash behavior and a go-get’em attitude toward the things that matter to that person.

The Knight of Wands has then been combined with a Halloween Affirmation card that says, “Halloween reminds me to be my unique self.”

Be you… enthusiastically and unapologetically.

We are all freaks.  All of us.  And, that it’s those of us that embrace this and make it our own that find the confidence to show our true selves to the world at large.  This takes courage and enthusiasm, and a willingness to be different.

Today’s message is an encouragement to lean into your differences instead of trying to “fit in” with the crowd.  Embrace those things that make you unique, and don’t be shy about them.

Fire and Air “The Sixes” Prompts for October

Tarot Reading and Lenormand Reading with the Under the Bed Tarot and Lenormand della LunaSix of Wands

What is a creative way to celebrate a recent accomplishment?

Clouds, Death, Lady – Take some time to examine how you really feel about the recent changes taking place. Your emotions need to be brought out and sorted through rather than just brushed under the rug. Give yourself the gift of listening to them with nurturing engagement rather than disregarding them outright. Just because it seems you are trapped into the changes taking place, and as a result are working on adapting, doesn’t mean how you feel about it all doesn’t matter.

Six of Swords

What is a gradual change that’s taking place in my life?

House, The Tower, Garden – The restructuring going on in your life right now affects a number of areas of beyond just your business, spilling over into house and home, your friends and acquaintances, and even your tolerances where others are concerned. It’s not so much the obvious change that needs  your attention so much as these smaller ripples outward that it has caused, which manifest in a more gradual and less obvious ways.

How can I move more easily through times of transition?

Fox, Enactor (King) of Cups, Lily – Keep in mind that wearing your heart on your sleeve doesn’t have to be a weakness. It can also be a strength and a strategy depending on how it’s used. It allows others to see your intentions and the values that drive your decisions clearly, leaving no room for misunderstandings.

Other elements included in this reading:
Foraged Red Oak Leaf for Fostering Unconditional Love
Foraged Wood Fern for Exorcising Negative Influences
Mandala for Foresight and Predictive Veracity
Orange Aventurine Leaves for Pause and Reflection
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy
