🌑 New Moon in Cancer – June 2025

Tomorrow is the new moon, and like all new moons and full moons, I did a spread aligned to the moon’s current themes as a part of my recognition of the moon’s cycle and influences upon us. Today’s spread is courtesy of @lightningwildflower

New Moon in Cancer Oracle Reading with the Oracle of Water

Reflect : How am I changing or healing?

Clownfish Draco – It’s getting easier for you to look at the things that take you by surprise (including unpleasant surprises) as amusing rather than ire inducing. This doesn’t mean that you don’t sometimes still react emotionally before you process, but that you’re a bit less likely to react in anger and instead with amusement during these times.

Attend : What feelings am I being asked to pay attention to?

Deep Sea Kraken – Stop skimming the surface, and look deeper. It isn’t so much that there’s one particular feeling you need to examine more closely or pay more attention to, but rather your tendency to bury the important stuff deep and try to ignore it, and instead only deal with or acknowledge whatever is on the surface.

Connect : How can I improve my connections with the ones I love?

Underwater Ruins – Don’t allow others to rewrite history for you. Not all trips down memory lane are pleasant, but sharing history that includes an element of truth is essential to bonding with those important to you. Just because they don’t want to acknowledge what happened doesn’t mean it’s not there. Don’t participate in the rewriting of history, and show your preference for the truth instead.

Align : What area of my life needs attention or alignment?

Cacaelia – It’s time to examine what you’re holding onto so tightly that it’s beginning to hold you back in your journey. You may need to sit with this and consider it, even do a few readings on it to find what this is. Don’t allow it to slip away, but see, out what has your knuckles white in that too tight grip.

Allow : What is ready to come forward in my life?

Reef Wyvern – You don’t have to be numb, nor ignore your emotions, in order to let things roll off your back like rainwater on a slicker. Remember that you can be vulnerable on the inside with that thin layer of protection still in place.

New Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Frilled Sea Serpent – “Don’t hold back or make yourself smaller just to stay safe… Step into the light, even if the first few steps are shaky.” – Guidebook

As another reading earlier in the day previously mentioned, fear is holding you back. You need to step forward into your fears, rather than allowing them to keep you in a place of stagnancy. Stretch your wings (or fins, as the case may be).

Other elements included in this reading:
Aquamarine for fostering Wisdom and Clarity
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

The Hermit

Mrs Inglemore had a hate on for the kids in the neighborhood. Their laughter and playful voices always floating in through her window, the way they raced up and down the street on their bikes. The sound of balls bouncing, bikes being dropped onto grass or sidewalk, skateboards and rollerskates on pavement. She’d complained to their parents many times.

But most of all, and what started it all? Those greedy little bastards stole her pies!

Not every time. No, they were too sneaky for that. Sometimes when she put them on the sill to cool, they came back from the experience untouched. And they -had- to go on the sill, mind you. The fridge was too cold and made them somehow both soggy and dried out at the same time. The kitchen was too warm. After all, she’d just finished baking.

It had to be the sill.

Seven of Swords

The first time? Some little piggy child ate HALF the pie, right out of the pie pan before they unbalanced the thing and sent it toppling into the kitchen. Rhubarb and strawberries simply everywhere. Such a mess!

The next time was a few pies later on the next week, and they tipped the entire thing over to splat on the ground outside the window. The entire pie ruined, not to mention her begonias! Little sneaky bastards.

Seven of Wands

This time? She’s going to catch them in the act, though, and then they’re going to get reported not just to their parents, but the police too! It’s stealing, after all.  So, she’d made her pie and set it on the windowsill every day this week, waiting each time for the children to show themselves. Hiding just out of sight on the other side of the counter, each time she waited.

And here they were! They’d come! She heard their sneaky movements as she crouched and waited, and when she heard the scrape of her baking pan on the sill? She popped up into view with a loud, “AH HA! I KNEW IT WAS YOU BILLY NASSON!”

The Tower

Only to be faced with a white tailed deer as surprised as she was! As she screamed, the deer reared back, cracking its head on the window’s edge and sending it dropping to smash down and shatter. The pie simultaneously going flying to splat over top of Mrs Inglemore’s head where she landed on her butt on the floor.

Five of Swords

And, a moment later when she came to from her faint?

There was Billy Nasson, drawn by the commotion and peeking in through the window at her along with his friends.

“Lovely new hat, Mrs Inglemore,” he exclaimed, before they all ran off to play.

🎨 Weekly Creativity Prompt – Different Scenarios

Prompt: “The purpose of this activity is to practice interpreting small spreads by combining card meanings, symbols and intuition. We will all interpret the same cards based on a few different (imaginary) situations. A 3 card spread will be posted together with 2 more specific scenarios. It’s your choice which scenario you’d prefer to use, or if you’d rather do a general reading of these cards as for an imaginary querent.”

Tarot of the Abyss - Six of Swords, The Empress, The Chariot

Scenario 1 – Alba is moving to a new country, and wants to know how to make it go smoothly.

Moving is always difficult, because you are leaving things behind that you otherwise would hold on to. Keep in mind, though, that you are also leaving behind those things that are not working for you, and opening up an opportunity for better, healthier possibilities and opportunities to take their place.

Make sure as you begin to settle into your new home and country that you keep a firm grasp on what you want out of this move. It’s only through steering yourself in the direction you want to go in that you’ll find the success and abundance you seek.

Scenario 2 – Gray wants to figure out some advice for navigating their new job. They just got hired in a competitive field through a temp agency.

No one is going to give you what you want out of this experience. You’re going to have to reach out and grab it for yourself.

Make sure as you start on this new endeavor that you leave in your wake those past habits and tendencies that haven’t worked for you previously. They won’t work for you now, either.  By leaving them behind, you “till the soil” of your career and open up space for new growth and success to occur.  Just remember, this isn’t a gift. It’s something you’ll have to work at. Determination is what will get you through, so “tighten your bootstraps” and get going.

Full Strawberry Moon Oracle Reading with the Pathwork Oracle

This is a completion stage. Look at how berry much you have blossomed. Honor you!

Granthita Mudra – Take time to truly acknowledge the stability you have created for yourself and those around you. Don’t play lip service to this accomplishment, but rather, use this full moon to shed light upon these things and truly appreciate them.

Envision what you’d like for your future + set sweet intentions.

Amitabha – “…desire: a want for sensory pleasure.” To bring the future you want for yourself to life, you need to connect more deeply with pleasure, and allow yourself to enjoy life and the world around you on a deeper sensory level.

Cut ties with what is holding you back.

Vairocana – Your addictive nature is always going to be a part of who you are. The key is in moderation and prioritizing the future over the temporary rush of dopamine provided pleasure that addictive behavior provides. There are healthier ways to seek out pleasurable moments.

Clean your space, place crystals to charge + pull a card message.

Namskara Mudra – Give yourself permission to love and be loved. It can be hard to allow this type of vulnerability, but it’s a part of your growth and essential to your true happiness.

This is your time to have your cake + eat, it too. Invite in experiences that bring you more pleasure, joy + fun.

Body – Get out of the cloistering enclosure of your head and go outside to spend time in nature. Use this time outside to exercise your body in order to achieve a greater sense of freedom and clarity.

Write 10 things you’re grateful for.

  • Spring flowers
  • Autumn’s eventual cool down
  • Air conditioning
  • A dependable vehicle
  • People I trust in my life
  • My partner and all he does for me
  • I’m still alive and mobile
  • Squishy soled sandals
  • Prozac
  • My confidence in what feels right for me

A new portal of opportunity opens for you now.

Sympathetic Joy for Self – Celebrate life more, and what you have less. You never believed you’d live past 20, then 24, then 30… etc and yet here you are. With your depression and suicidal tendencies mitigated, if not always completely under control, you enjoy life more. So make sure that you are celebrating it every chance you get.

Full Moon advice from the Minoan Goddess Amalthea.

Ahimsa – Lay down your defenses and make choices that foster a greater sense of community. There’s no need to be aggressive or defensive right now, so instead of acting out on those feelings, look at why they are there, and seek a greater understanding where these feelings are concerned.

Other elements included in this reading:
Flower Agate Moon for Opening the Mind to New Possibilities
Lemon Quartz Bowl for Clarity, Focus, and a Pocket Full of Joy
Selenite for Purification and drawing in Positive Energy

🎨 Weekly Creativity Prompt – Differing Perspectives

Prompt: “Pull the Page of Pentacles card from your deck(s). Compare the imagery between the card provided below and the card(s) from your own deck(s). How would you read them differently and why?

Mystic Goddess Sigils Tarot - Page of PentaclesMystic Goddess Sigils Tarot – In the center of this card we see a maze, and what appears to me to be the roots of a plant just starting out. This card speaks of the need to develop roots first before growth can begin. It shows the roots at their start, and encourages them to grow to create a stable foundation before continuing on to navigating the maze that is its obstacle to freedom. This card asks us what preparations do we need to put in place in order to create a stable foundation for where we want to end up? The foundation will always be the first step. It warns that sometimes beginnings take time, and thus patience is needed in order for opportunities to grow into fruition.

Page of Pentacles in the Star Trek Tarot, Serenity Tarot, and Cosmic Seeker Tarot

Star Trek Tarot – This card speaks of a continuous curiosity for new knowledge and an urge to advance one’s skills and abilities. It says that no matter one’s age, that curiosity is what creates spice in life, and growth of one’s skills and abilities keeps one fresh and agile, creating strength that can be built on. It encourages not being discouraged when growth takes time. Opportunities for growth are always present, even at times when we don’t always recognize them. The message here is a reminder to be open to those opportunities and eager to explore them, even when you’re feeling jaded or tired.

Serenity Tarot – The figure in this card reflects the traditional imagery in the Rider Waite tradition of tarot. The coil is cherished and admired, valued and the entire focus of the figure in the center of the card. At her feet, growth flourishes. This card speaks of valuing the themes of the pentacles suit.  Home, health, skills, financial stability.  This card says that when you value these traits and themes, growth will come.  Slow and steady, perhaps, but it will come.

Cosmic Seeker Tarot – I struggle with the princess (page) in this card, as there is stagnancy here rather than growth or slow movement. It is as if she holds the coin in her lap, but her mind is elsewhere.  She’s not even touching it.  To me, the imagery in this card speaks of neglecting these important themes that the coin represents.  Are you ignoring your health and changes that need to be made? Are you choosing to not deal with financial obligations? Are you avoiding doing the things that will create a stable foundation for your goals?  This card asks these questions and encourages looking closely within oneself for the answers.

📆 Transitioning from May to June

Month End Tarot Reading with the Magical Hours Tarot

Here and Now I Exist – Who you are now, in your entirety.

Two of Wands – There’s lots of planning going on, but not a lot of action. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, even if the tone of that voice in your head is being snarky about it. Plans, after all, are the beginning of what comes next.

The Slough – What is to be left in the past as you move forward.

Eight of Pentacles – Consider that maybe now is not the time to act.  Remember that it’s okay to take a break when you need it, and this time of year is the prime time to indulge in those breaks.

What Lies Ahead – An ideal state or ideal self you are seeking at this time.

Ace of Cups – At this time, you are looking for a new understanding of your emotions. You want to be able to process emotions without them throwing a huge wrench into things. Finding the ability to feel stability and even peace during this process is something you hope is possible and might be able to achieve at some point.

Limitations – Negative influences, opposition, or ill will.

Four of Cups atop The Chariot – Your desire to hide away from the world is coming on stronger than normal lately. Make sure that you’re not allowing this seclusionary urge to control you and close you off from the world and those that care.

The Boon – Positive influences, higher guidance, or divine intervention.

The Star – Those positivity and optimism exercises you do are needed right now. They help keep you afloat when things are feeling dark, so make sure you are continuing with them, and don’t allow your self-destructive tendencies cause you to avoid them.

The Wound – An unpleasant past experience or event that is ripe for some support and healing.

Eight of Cups – Remember that those who walk away from you and reject your efforts of friendship are not worth your time and not meant to be a part of your life. It doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you, just that they’re not a good fit. Rejection can hurt, but it just helps you in finding those people that are more suited to you in the long run.

Nostalgia – A positive past experience or event to acknowledge, reflect upon, and enjoy.

Ten of Wands – Always remember that you are stronger than you think you are. You are a survivor and will handle what life throws at you, even during those times when it seems like it’s far too much for you to deal with.

A Warning – Something coming that can be prevented or overcome.

Eight of Swords – Don’t avoid looking at the hard truths or you may find yourself blinded by them when you most need to see clearly. This doesn’t mean you have to shout what you see from the roof tops, but just acknowledge that they’re there so that you don’t trip over them later and end up hurt in the process.

Empowerment – A future opportunity to work toward.

Queen of Swords atop The Hierophant Rx – Your shrink has some good advice, but make sure that you’re sharing candidly with her what the issues are. Actually listen to her “outside the box” ideas instead of discarding them as not for you. There’s some truth and help residing in those ideas that you’re missing at first glance because your preferences tend to lean toward traditional methods.

Message from the Spirit World – When you close your eyes to hope, you miss opportunities to try new things that, although unappealing, may be good for you in the long run.

Message from the Mind’s World – You spent far too much time thinking about the logistics of work, and not enough time seeking out ways to make it more satisfying and enjoyable for you. Take more time to focus on trying new things and exploring, instead of just doing the same old thing over and over.

Message from the Physical World – Removing yourself from your comfort zone may feel overwhelming, but it’ll help you take charge of some of your dips in mood and wellness struggles that you’ve been experiencing lately.

Take Away – Some of the breaks that you’ve taken lately have not been of the healthy variety. Use your time of rest to shift your focus to fun, exploration, and experimentation. Lazy days are all well and good once in a while, but too much turn to rest into stagnancy, which is unhealthy.
