A Morning Walk
Winter wonderlands
coated in snow
a pristine blanket
to make the world
look new
In early morning
the path is pristine
and instead of alone
come and walk
with me in this scene
so we can
see the world
through the same eyes
as we kiss
between foggy breaths
Sweater Weather
Lets walk together
fingers interlaced
in fields
turned winter red
as a vibrant sky
lends twilight dusk
to the day
and the nip of
sweater weather
teases our skin
and draws us in
closer
to one another
with each step
taken
Transitions
Winter nips
bit by bit
at the edges
of our senses
stinging sinuses
and biting
at fingertips
on its way past
as dawn creeps
a little earlier
with each day
that passes
until spring
begins
The City
They pile in
one on one on one
until we are all
stepping on
each others toes
as we walk
shoulder to shoulder
on crowded streets
with conveyances
bumper to bumper
beside us
day in
and day out
with no room
left
to breathe
Taking a Moment
The shed roof
is soft with moss
and damp
with winter rain
so that when
you sit upon it
you are soon
cold and
soaked thru
to the skin
yet who can resist
a moment or two
settled in peace
with a view
like this
to help you breathe
Overnight Flurries
Like down feathers
little crystals
build to fluff
soft and light
the delicate weight
settles
and turns
the world
pristine
for a short breath
until life
moves on
once again
with the dawn
of a new day
