Let’s stay home
and pull the blanket
off the back
of the couch
to snuggle under
together
while we watch
white stuff
fall from the sky
and turn the world
into wonderous
and pure,
beautiful
and silent.

Like a leaky cup
the days slip by
unnoticed
until you find
the pool of
lost time
on the floor

a caressing tease
sigils drawn
and scorched to life
nature’s bits
detritus all
lending their gifts
to my call
some will leave
returned to earth
as others come home
to share their worth

aching knees
as I head downhill
